umm.. wat the?? that case just makes your ipod bulky and takes away from the style. i would recommend invisible shield or any other clear plastic cover because they prevent scratches and doesn't make the ipod bulky.

I don't think so, I own a griffin case as well, not the same model, but it uses the same basic structure. My griffin case has a hard plastic layer on the inside and a softer, thinner layer of leather on the outside which might help absorb shock a bit better. If you think about having a helmet on and running headfirst into a brick wall, the shock all goes right to your head/neck, with a pillow tied onto your helmet, it would absorb some of the pressure/shock before reaching your head...
