@greatbearofalltime with experience. Who Wants To Be a Millionarre's grand prize of 1,000,000 was won (I think the first time even) by some old white-haired truck driver. Old people are wise, and they know many things about society.
You are absolutely right that Time is Money is retired. The game just like Penny Ante had difficulties including season 33. It was never played for a car but Penny Ante,Joker, and Poker games were played
The reason why Time Is Money was retired was because then-producer Roger Dobkowitz's plan of bringing the game back with a smaller set on the stage's turntable never came to pass.
I loved this game. I think the contestant should have got 20 seconds though as it takes a few seconds to decide what goes where. It looks easy at home but in front of an audience on tv it is s bit more difficult. This was a good game.
Another reason thought of for the halt of play is the immediate removal of the $500 voucher for an additional 15 seconds. That thus removed the meaning of the game's title - "Time Is Money."
I think that $500 voucher should come back, should the game not be retired. That way, if after learning how many the player has wrong, if they're not sure which products they have wrong, they can still take $500 and leave (or if they ARE sure they can take another 20 seconds).
According to what Wikipedia said, this game isn't REALLY retired...it's just on hiatus for now since April 2004...it's unknown whether it'll come back or not...
No, it's still on hiatus. Producer Roger Dobkowitz has announced plans to bring Time Is Money back to the pricing game rotation, but with a much smaller set, which will be played on the show's turntable.
It's the cousin of Grocery game.

A very confusing game that was better off retired. It looked good on paper, but it didn't translate to television very well.

Hey! That's the same think music as "Clearance Sale".

I believe this was a game that was concealed behind either the red curtain or the race game curtain.

It was the race game curtain.

I hope it will be back, there's nothing bad about it, just it can be in the turntable, and the time should go up to 20 seconds.

It ain't quite as bad as I remember.

The $500/15 more seconds voucher was removed when it was played a 3rd. time.
