  • @StellatheBot I velieve she said it's NARS Scarlet Empress.

  • @StellatheBot I Believe she said it's NARS Scarlet Empress.

  • @faerielyght Thanks, I caught that a while back actually. :D Much appreciated lovely.

  • Thanks so much - our schools having a 1920s party and all the girls have little flapper dresses - I'm gonna use this makeup! :D

  • Marvellous! You're the only flapper that really look like. Not so other similar tutorials. Wanderful your lips and for me the most difficult part. Congratulatios :-) Greetings from Spain I suscribe

  • Where did you get the feather?

  • you could prolly wear it out... minus the feather, :)

  • I did this exact look yesterday (right from this great video) for a halloween party at work and it looked so authentic.....everyone loved it!!!!!!!!!!! I did the brows, (but I didn't use the putty, I just used makeup to conceal their thickness and penciled them in to look thin), I used similar eyeshadow, and did the lips and it was a total hit!!!!!

    Thanks so much, MissChievous!!!!

  • I wish I had seen this video before making our "Fashion Victim" video... really cool!

  • is cherry red lipstick too bright for this look?

  • me encanta este look es tan elegante felicidades misschievous :)

  • you´re so pretty :)

  • My grandmother used to tell me that she was a flapper. Is that a good thing to know that information?

  • I think the eye brows should be a little more fierce/thicker.

  • Eyebrows aren't right. Eye makeup and lipstick is spot on.

  • This is beautiful, the lips look especially delicious, you got the shape just right! I sometimes wear this look when I go out, but with a more modern brow and eyeshadow shape. It's so classic!

  • You have beautiful bone structure for the flapper look. Your nose and your cheek bones are perfect for the whole 1920s style. Haha you belong in the 20s!

  • i heard you can use, like, glue- from a glue stick,I guess- to cover your brows. i haven't tried it yet and I got it from a friend, whom is not a makeup artist, so I don't know how good it looks. But I suppose it's worth trying!

  • girl you should be in hollywood you are a great artist you represnt the decades perfectly it is as if I were in the twenties you've got a talent

  • wow love this look reminds me of Chicago

  • reminds me a little of velma kelly from the movie chicago! great look!

  • wat cud u use 2 subsitute the putty

  • @Beautyfiy you can use a bar of soap to "soap out" the eyebrow. Just get the soap wet and create a buildup of it. Apply the pastie buildup to your eyebrows in the direction your hair grows until its covered all the way. Semi-dry it then pat them flat with anything smooth(nail?) but not your finger (it might get stuck and lose a chunk of your non-eyebrow) , dry all the way cover with concealer and/or foundation and ta da! no eyebrows.

  • thanks!

  • You kill my ostrich pet!! ....but he died very happyly, a very orgasmic experience for him

  • flappers. Anyone called that should be avoided for obvious reasons. Unless you actually have a fetish for flappy women parts.

  • are you canadian

  • Hi & thank you !!! I really learned a lot from your video w how to do makeup & hair plus I have the plume feather - yeah*** for a party tonight.

    I'm excited!!!!!

  • Thank You. Great job. Definitly helped. Going to a 20's mystery party for my friend's husbands 30th B-Day.

  • lol u completely skipped the how-to on the lower lip!!

ilike the eyes a lot. hope u can eventually put up a tutorial for putty when you get used to it ;)

  • If you need help with the lower lip, I make a fish face and color in(with a pencil) the part of the lips that puckers out.- this works for both upper and lower lips. Then refine the edges and apply a burgundy lip color.

  • for the first time you got the eyebrows pretty good!

  • Id love to Charleston you for sixty minutes!

  • Your amazing! I love this.

  • I would've loved watching you making your eyebrows

  • wuts the song at the start? great makeup btw!

  • this is the only flapper makeup tutorial that isnt like the modern flapper i guess! all the others hav a bunch of colors and thick eyeliner and it wuz just not right! i like this one cuz its beautiful, modernish, and looks like the flapper! hehe this is what im gonna be tomorrow well, today lol

  • this is what im being for halloween and im glad i found this!

  • im being a flapper

  • This is gorgeous. I love the colors!

  • This is the only flapper tutorial I've seen were the eye shadow actually looks the way they did it back then , most of the ones I see never have the triangle contour that you see in old pictures .

  • @Sanbika89 watch?v=9iY0TpoJrfk&feature=related i like this one too. but its silent the whole time...

  • I thought this look would be darker on the eyes, didn't they use tons of liner back then?

  • nice :o)

  • Bravo! You are a true artist. There are those that apply make-up and there are those that are Make-Up Artists and that definitely fits you. Just like a sculptor or a painter who would research their projects...you have done the same. I in awe of your creativity and passion as an artist.

  • you look nice......the black dahlia looked like that

  • what's the black dahlia?

  • Comment removed

  • The black dalia was a woman in the mid 1920's who was an aspiring actress whos look was exactly like this. She was murdered, drained of all blood, cut up and dumped in a field to look like a mannequin.

  • A woman that was murdered and mutilated

  • :] I'm going to do this theme for my Sweet Sixteen so thanks for the tutorial!

  • Was skeptical at first..but you actually nailed it. My grandmother was a movie actress back then..and yes..she looked like you did. Good for you!!

  • wow this is very realistic, you really look a vamp girl from the 20's.. only the air that is too long but you people can buy a wig for that.. loved this look

  • its weird cause i still see some old school "cholas" (or gangster girls) wear their eyebrows in this fashion, and im thinkin maybe somehow it somehow correlates into the jazz age fashion, and the whole pachuco/cholo fashion.....i dont know, just a thought lol .....LOVE your tutorials and reviews BTW!

  • Great work!

  • First of all, kudos to you. Great videos! I am also a makeup artist and have mastered most of the techniques you use in these videos, though i wish i could say i have the success and fanbase you do, maybe i should make my own vids! Anyway, thanks for the X on the cupids bow tip! Didnt know that one

  • You are talented. I love the combination in the color in mostly all of your videos, good taste. Thanks ! =)

  • My great-great grandma was a flapper.... I was so proud when I found that out. I really love your make up videos. I think you do a better job than some of the other people on youtube.

I love the 20's era! (Like in the movie Chicago :D)

  • whats a flapper?

  • When the turn of the century came woman's roles were changing. Jobs were changing as well as their fashion. Flappers were woman who wore short very racy (sexual) dresses and kinda just rejected "normal" woman clothes. They listened to Jazz (was considered very inappropriate) and wore dranatic make up and stuff.

Best example, watch the movie "Chicago" You don't even have to watch the whole thing, just a few minutes and you'll see what I mean. :]

(sorry for a really long history lesson)

  • Its ok thanx alot lol ! :)

  • club kids from the 1920's

  • Comment removed

  • are you kidding??? yes they did!!! get a history book!!

  • Comment removed

  • Sweetsugar, yes they did!!! the Roaring 20's had nightclubs, parties, SPEAK EASY's, abcdancgirl is right, please read up on your history...bars and nightclubs are NOT a new thing.

  • THANK YOU!! at least ONE PERSON on youtube isn't ignoran t:-)

  • Yes they did. maybe not EXACTLY like clubs these days, but the Roaring 20's IS NOT 2009.

  • Yes they did. They were commonly called 'speakeasies', if they served alcohol. They also had jazz clubs, dance clubs, etc.

  • Yes they did in the united states. It was the bar Musicians went, everyone went, couples, single men, single women. They played music people drank, they even smoked marijuana behind the clubs in the alleys, they got very drunk singles meet and make a couple, they dance, and sing the night away.

  • you look like drew barrymore! :)

  • but this is not victorian age, SundaraKapasalathi...it is edwardian age.

And i have pictures of my grandma madeup the same way and she was definitely not a prostitute.

(and this is a very well done beautiful makeup)

  • wow it looks so awkward..but Im loving it!

    Xoxo =)

  • that's so cool....i am glad you have done some research about the styles it's always neat learning about how makeup was done years ago. You are so very talented.

  • I thought the 20s had rounded eyes?

  • that`s 1930`s

  • no, it's really 1920's

  • it's 1920s

  • In 1920s the eyeshadow was droopy and "sad"-looking like hers in this video, in the 1930s the makeup was more feminine and the eyes were softer and rounder in shape

  • Excellent!

  • for your first brow block with kryolan soft putty, you did a fabulous job! its hard enough with the ben nye blocking kit and spirit gum, but it looks great and yes it definitely does take a lot of practice!!

  • you do a nice job with the make up, but i really don't like this style, anyway it's cool for a costume party

  • you sorta resemble drew barrymore here

  • God! this is soooo true! this is exactly how the 20s was like! gr8 job

  • yur black nails look soo good contrasted against your porcelain skin.

  • I´m gonna do this look on one of the shows next month... just love it

you should be a makeup artist if your not already one. And you like do movie makeup too.

I can see the eye putty LOL!

  • wow, your vids are really detailed and informative!

  • Nice touch with the music at the end XD

I really like the videos in the series though! Make up looks fun, and even more so when you can get really creative with it :D

  • i love the vid. it will really help with my winter formal cuz the theme is actually The Roaring '20's an alot of my friends are going for the flappr/old age mobster/gangster look

  • I love watching your vids but I do have a question. Why don't you show how to do everything? I'd be great to see you finish doing your lips and eye liner and etc. I can't wait to see more vids from you.

  • your lips in this look are really pretty

  • OMG! Girl you look just like that lady actress Claudette Colbert, when you put on that makeup. LOL! She played in a couple of old movies from the 20's and 30's.

  • wowzeeerrr!!!!

    that's amaaazing!

lol my eyes like popped out of my head

  • This is totally freaking awesome!! You really pull of this look. I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm going to watch the 1950s pinup makeup vid next!

  • i wish i saw this vid earlier, but i did manage to pull off the flapper look for a halloween party.

  • thank you for that! I´m from Germany, where we celebrate the carnival. And me and my family are going to the biggest party here in cologne tressed as 1920s and this makeup is just perfect for my costume.

  • I'm a bloke who has little interest in makeup but this video was so interesting and made me more appreciative on the matter.

    Thanks! :-D

You did a great job at capturing the look

  • nice job on the brows and the lips are so cute :)

  • thanks :)

  • wow this is so amazing, you are super talented, girl!

  • you did such a wonderful job!

  • i was a flapper for halloween! so cool

  • like the look they really had the chicas and chicos going on "Blush" when they had to use different references especially on period makeup, great look, I need to try it again especially with the extreme brow. Thank you for the inspiration.

  • jeeez i love your skills!

  • I know this sounds dumb but whats a 1920's flapper???

  • flappers if I'm not mistaken were dancers of that era like the times version of showgirls and the dance known as 'The Charleston' was popular then and they wore shift dresses that would have long fringes like tassels there was no real shape to the dress a departure from the bussels (sp.) hoops and corsets of the victoria/gibson girl era. that's all I know...hope it helps.

  • Flappers are actually just girls who were looking for a new style, to break out form the everyday mold. They were...... Like.... Modern day scene girls. Kind of.

I only know this because we just went over it in my American History class, lol.

  • wow u really nailed this look down perfectly. very talented!

  • is it just me or are her lips uneven?

oh well, it still looks really nice!

  • i only like the lips
