  • Great stuff Rod, keep up the good work!

BTW, do you like fish sticks?

  • Pikeminnow, Rainbow , who cares as long as it's a fish :)

  • aaaaah man I hate went that happens! I went trout fishing a few days ago and land what I thought was a big trout but it was a scwa fish! I only caught one that day and no trout!

  • fuck you your gay

  • @jimmie2331 When you want to make a homophobic remark, at least try to do so intelligently to avoid any public embarrassment. I'm gay and you want to do what to me? What does that make you?

Free English lesson. You are = "You're". "Your" is a possessive pronoun. Now move along.

  • @fishingwithrod lol.

  • @fishingwithrod Oh snap! that was awesome! i love your videos btw :)

  • @Br8km3dwn Thanks. :)

  • @fishingwithrod lol u smoked him or told him who the boss

  • pikeminnow shmikeminnow! Its a frick'in Walleye, Pick'em up next by the gills and you'll never forget it! Oh well no sushi tonite!

  • @cheezmistr It is not a walleye.

  • @cheezmistr wow not even close to a walleye

  • @cheezmistr

They do not (thankfully) have walleye in BC. Get you facts right. They most likely would do alot of damage to wild salmon and trout species.

  • @TheVancouverMan Theres walleye in the columbia which coexist with the rainbows. Get you facts straight.

  • @cheezmistr actually its not a walleye, learn your fish

  • @cheezmistr A walleye has a different mouth, and two dorsal fins, one of which has spines.

  • @cheezmistr you dont pick it by the gills when releasing ''know it all''

  • pike minnow?

  • pikeminnow lol i call em squa fish

  • im new to fishing and fish species, i live in alberta so i dont know what species we have here but here is the real question, are pikeminnow baby pike?

  • @daiton64 No, northern pikeminnow is not a juvenile pike. The term "pikeminnow" is used as its body somewhat resembles a pike. Northern pikeminnow belongs in the minnow family. Its close relatives include chub, carp, dace, sucker, etc.

  • Pikeminnow can fight well. Especially the ones in the rivers here.

I got into one on the Kettle this past weekend that really ran on me hard.

  • @plasterdbastard Thanks. We are definitely spoiled by trout, salmon and steelhead in BC so tend to forget many other species are worth targeting. Don't forget to subscribe, we'll try to get at least several video up each week on fishing in BC. :)

  • 0.o

  • where i fish the fall fish are like that

eat anything and put up a good fight

  • i myself would call that a squaw fish, they are one in the same. they dont have the teeth of a northern pike, they prey on salmon and trout spawn, and raise alot of havoc on there eggs. good story about those, they bite anything. i got one just shy of 24" long on a piece of a snickers bar when i was a kid. but good fight none the less

  • i used chewed up skittles =]

  • yah sqauw fish is what i called them when i lived in bc , it kinda looks like a walleye

  • squaw fish is politically incorrect.the new name is pike minnow.completely different from a northern pike.

  • actually the name pike minnow is the name fish and game gave to the fish more commonly known as the 'squa fish'

i dont think they are part pike because they dont have 1 tooth in them, and theyre bad to eat

  • The correct common name that is currently used is northern pikeminnow (not pike minnow, which implies that it is a minnow of pike). The previous common name that has been abandoned is northern squawfish. Northern pikeminnow is completely unrelated to northern pike. Northern pikeminnow is a species in the minnow family (carp, chub, dace, sucker).

  • They do have long pharangeal teeth that act like knives cutting up their prey. Now named pikeminnow because they look like northern pike but are actually large piscivorous minnows. If I remember correctly the record sacramento pikeminnow in CA was 46in. long 32lbs. now that's a big minnow. Furthermore if you scale, slash, and grill them the meat pulls right off of those pesky bones. Many people rank pikeminnow right up there with bluegill taste-wise.

  • lots of ike minnow there

  • what is a pike minnow?? a mix of a northern and a rainbow?

  • thats basiclly what a pikeminnow is

  • No.

  • I go fishing for Pikeminnow and whitefish. They're really good fighters! That's a big Pikeminnow, bigger than the ones I caught. Good job!
