I agree that there may have been remodeling. It appears that the computer room may have been a single car garage at one point. Hence, its large size in proportion to the rest of the house and the chopped up kitchen.
@seans1honey At one point very early on, it came out that one boy was in bed with her. Since I did this video on 10/25/11, info has come out through "sources" that both boys went to bed with her, then the older boy left the bedroom and went to the top bunk and went to sleep. Things have changed from the start of this case.
Why wouldn't Jeremy drive to the back of the house where the cars are parked rather than go in the front door? Many thins about this case do not make sense.
@texbookie The only entrance to the house from the back would be "possibly" through the basement and up the stairs, or from the deck, of which the stairs to the deck are on the opposite of the house. The front door seems to be the one and only convenient way to get into the house.
@Sierra1947 So what is th purpose of having the back driveway area if you have to walk around to th front for entry. I don't think a house with only one entrance (the front door) meets code requirements. I know you are just going from videos, but not having a back entrance is very strange.
@texbookie There is an entrance at the back of the house, of which appears to come into the basement and then up the stairs. What I thought was strange is that there was no side entrance into the house, more so then a back entrance into the house. Normally there is an entrance into the kitchen. I think there may have been additions to this house over time.
Why would an intruder come through an high front window that is fully visible from the street rather than follow the driveway to the secluded back where entry could be made without unintentional observation?
I don't believe the mother had anything to do with this. My thoughts are that Jeremy comes home, sees that Debra is asleep and so are the children, opens the window, turns on the lights, unlocks the door, takes the baby and does God knows what to her before coming home alone and raising the alarm. The person that did this KNEW this house since as your floor plan shows, it's too small for a stranger to come into without waking the children or causing some disturbance.
There is so much speculation going on as they continue to hunt for Lisa. I hope the mother didn't have anything to do with it. I've been seeing a lot about the window and so on. It's possible the mother was drunk and left the door unlocked. Intruder comes right through the front door, grabs the baby and opens the window to see if he/she can't fit through it.. unless there is proof that someone actually crawled through the window. Thanks as always Patty!
Don't know if this is standard stuff in the States, but, in my personal opinion, i find it really strange to have a baby sleeping in any other room then the parents bedroom at that age. I have four kids grown up kids myself, and not ONE of them had their own bedroom before an age where i knew they sleep properly throughout the night. Until then, their cots stayed as close to own bed as possible. I find it so strange how Americans seems to keep small babies in another room.
@somesortanaughty I can only speak for myself as an American, when my son was born 43 years ago, he had his own crib, in his own room. Some parents have their newborns in a bassinette in their bedrooms for a short time, and then move them to a crib. In the Irwin home, there is no room for anything in that room as it is small.
I find it kind of stalkish that people have made a floor "plan" of their house just going by what they have seen on tv?? What is wrong with this picture?
I wrote this here because for some reason I cant leave just a regular comment....so not really replying to you...just commenting in general.
People breaking into houses don't normally break into windows in the front of a house which are visible from the street and turn on all the lights. Especially not a window that requires acrobatics to enter. And, as the FBI will tell you, people abducting children will not normally abduct a child Lisa's age. Those who do abduct babies tend to be women, not men. If the intruder/abductor story is true, this is way out of the ordinary for such crimes. Everything about this story is fishy.
@luckyduck152 Unless someone really knew the layout of this house, an intruder would have no clue what the room they are entering through the windowcould be. Sometimes a Master Bedroom is in the front of the house or a bedroom, however, this was a family room, and an intruder would not know this at all, UNLESS, the person knows the layout.
@luckyduck152 One of the things I remember though from the Elizabeth Smart case, is that snake slithered in a window, that was a window where the kitchen sink was. It was not opened very wide even after he went through it. The police claimed from the way it was broken into that it was opened from the inside, but it turns out they were wrong. It would have been very difficult for a person to do that, but somehow he was able to. This just an FYI that it could happen, but a very, very small could.
@sicofphoneys In that case the abductor had inside knowledge of the house since he had worked there for several hours and had met the family. Also IIRC, the Smarts fully co-operated with the police investigation. Also, Elizabeth Smart was the age of which child predictors normally seek, Lisa Irwin is not. I really don't think that case and this one are comparable.
@luckyduck152 I totally agree with you. I only say the part about the window and it was a high window to say it can be done. I don't think these compare pretty much in anyway. I do think that the person-IF it even happened that way could have known the layout of the house. I believe that in the Smarts case he had only been there once, so if they had evil on their mind, it wouldn't take much. Unfortunately, I think there was help inside that house and out.
@luckyduck152 But technically, the parents story is they don't know who did it. That's all I'm saying. By what they say it could be her brother, her neighbor, whomever. I don't think for half a second that is what happened. I think the mom probably dropped her and she hit her head or worse (it was intentional), but I think they have engaged in a giant coverup. I don't understand parents who won't cooperate fully with the police. If my baby was missing, I would protect no one. I don't get them.
@luckyduck152 Part II. I have trouble fitting in all my talking. I was just curious what IIRC stands for. One side note on the Smarts. I really think they are amazing parents. To have Elizabeth turn out so well after all she has been through is amazing. The same with Stacy Dugard. I can't imagine the pain these families and others have been through. Just FYI if you are interested, the interview with Elizabeth's kidnapper after he is in jail is now posted on youtube. He is crazy like a fox.
So they rushed down the hall together, passed the baby's room with its light on, went into the boys room at the same time, then back-tracked to go into Lisa's room to find her missing? Going to Lisa's room first or splitting up to check both rooms simultaneously is a more logical. It would also be reasonable if they looked in briefly, saw the baby was gone, and then proceeded straight into the boys' room to see if the other brother had taken her into the room with him for some reason.
@pumibel Just keep in mind, they both had to pass Lisa's bedroom first. There is no way not to pass Lisa bedroom first. If they were standing in the doorway of their bedroom and looked down a rather short length of a hallway, they would see the light from Baby Lisa's bedroom shining in the hallway. If they looked down the hallway from the Master bedroom, they could clearly see the boy's bedroom door and if it was open or closed. Going to Baby Lisa's room would be my first choice.
@Sierra1947 I can see going to the boys room first, simply because they can walk and could have walked out. However, it is such a small house that there would only be room for two adults to run down the hall to the boys room and the first adult would check that one and the second adult would check Lisa at the same time. It makes not sense that both would need to go into the boys room.
@sicofphoneys BUT, they have to pass by Baby Lisa's room, and the door to her bedroom was opened and the lights were on. Their scenario just doesn't make sense, especially taking all three cellphones.
@Sierra1947 I agree. I am trying so hard to see something normal on redeeming in this story, and it gets harder and harder and more impossible day by day. Has anyone mentioned in all this, if they could tell the baby was alive when that man was carrying the baby.
And when you get to the blue lines, this is what makes me think the DAD is lying too, looking at it from here, we can all see clearly, that nobody would go to the master bedroom through the door to the left looking at the kitchen, and why on earth would he go to the master bedroom first, passing those other rooms, my FIRST thought would be the kids, hubby last, it would surely be ANY parents first thought.
You see this is what we want, incredible reporting by "SIERRA REPORTS" here, stating facts and helping us get the REAL picture.
THANKS PATTY.
I know nothing makes sense in most cases of this kind, but my first thought is:- why would anybody climb in through THAT window, wouldn't you go around the back, I would!
@EdensSecret1 You would think that they would go in through the back as there is a staircase from the side of the house to go up to the deck. Then of course, there is also a wooded area behind the house, so no one would see the intruder (alleged). They also could probably get in the house from the back entry to the basement and come up that way too.
@EdensSecret1 The one reason they might pick that window, is it was the only one open. Just an idea. At this point, it is like pulling teeth to not suspect the mom knows something, but I keep hoping.
very good video.... This really makes you think, especially the phones in the path of possible baby snatcher. Why not computer, or anything else? Just baby? Weird. If it was a baby snatcher, they knew mom was drunk, home alone, and that the baby was there. What are the odds that all this would fall into place? ..... Did she broadcast on facebook that hubby was working?
@profphotographer The more I have heard about this case and now able to walk through the floor plan, nothing makes sense at all STILL. It didn't when I first heard it and still doesn't make sense. I don't think Debra told anyone on a social network her hubby was working as this second job seemed to come on perhaps at the last moment. This was not his regular shift job, as far as it has recently been reported, but more so as second job because they were having financial difficultites.
@Sierra1947 That baby is out there not too far from home. Could be mom with her ponytail, light T shirt and dark pants (store video) walking around in the dark delirious and traumatized with the deceased child. She doesn't drive and maybe took care of everything before dad got home. She laughed when asked if she had a drinking problem. If my baby were missing, I could not laugh at anything!! It would take years for me to be able to smile.
@profphotographer I don't feel it was Debra walking around. IF Jeramy is telling the truth, he claims he told People's Magazine he was suppose to be home at 10:00 that evening but since they didn't have a working phone, he couldn't call Debra at home.
@profphotographer Yes, and did the alleged intruder take the phone chargers as well, or just the phones? Because it would seem like a royal pain to have to carry 3 phones with cords-a-dangling AND a 10-month old. Hinky!
If you are unclear about something, please ask me. Sometimes I might not be clear enough when I went through the house talking about that evening, etc.
Just so I am clear, the boy's bedroom can NOT be seen from the kitchen. The long wall in the kitchen blocks the hallway and the boy's room from view. You have to go into the hallway, look to your right and then you will see the boy's room. ONLY room viewable from the kitchen is Baby Lisa's.
Patty, It just all still points to the mother imo. So, she is saying the intruder went in a window, walk past both bedroom doors, grabed Baby Lisa, walkked back past both doors again, then thought wow I should take all the cell phones before exiting through the front door. Then she says she was scared to go outside and look for her baby because of what she might find......WHAT!!!! Then I saw her show up for a vigil yesterday and to me she really dont look like she has been grieving.
@wvghostchic38 The "allegded" intruder didn't go past both bedrooms as the boy's bedroom can not be seen from the kitchen. The boy's bedroom is blocked by a wall in the kitchen, of which would be a wall in the boy's bedroom. The "alledged: intruder could only see baby Lisa's room from the kitchen.
