  • The first opera house was burned down sealing off all passages to the lake. Paris rebuild it in honor if the owner.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • It's was a private party. The second time in this place... May be there'll be anothers but I still don't know (I was just invited)

  • @blindblind That is *SO* cool! I'm going to say this once again, but you are so very lucky to have been able to go down there! (I can't tell you how many people here in America, and elsewhere, would have given $100 or more to be able to go where you went - myself *definitely* included! LOL!)

And no, unfortunately, I've never been to the catacombs in Paris - although I would really like to one day! (The only thing is, I'm afraid of dead bodies/skeletons - so I don't know how well that would go!)

  • Excuse me, but when did they start letting people into the cellars/ of the Opera? (And when are they going to have another event like this again?!)

I'm from America and have been to the Opera Garnier on 3 separate occasions! I think the Opera *GORGEOUS* place - with so much great history and such wonderful architecture! (If only I could get a full tour of the place - including the cellars - I would truly be in Heaven! LOL!)

Also, what's it like down there? Is it cold? Damp? You are very lucky

  • @GhostGal5

It's about 15°C like the catacomb in Paris if you've ever been too... but so hotter at that time, cause it was for the scottish whiskey Glenfiddich who organised it !
