  • what is the name of the song? nice PC

  • oh my god the cpu score, very very impresionant!!!

  • Lots of horsepower in this build. Single X5680's don't fare so well against lesser Quad-Cores like the Extreme 975, but I can imagine the benefit of having 2 at the same time. This would pretty much chew up the current 12-Core Mac Pro about 5 times over.

  • @TheUberDeity the 12 core mac pro is built on a similar dual xeon configuration tho

  • @funmat

Exactly my point :) The 12-Core Mac Pro scored 15.7 in the Cinebench test. Not very good.

  • @TheUberDeity the mac typically ships with an ati 5770 gfx card - which doesnt compare to the 4 x 480 setup.

  • @funmat

It also doesn't compare with a single 5870 or 5970 card, either. The 5770 is a budget card.

But then again, Apple puts nothing but mid-range or budget components in their computers anyways, which is why they consistently get slaughtered in benchmark tests against cheaper PCs.

The $1999 iMac got KILLED by a $1000 PC in an IGN head-to-head test playing SCII at a measly 1680x1050. The iMac choked at 28FPS, and the PC smoked at 112 FPS.

It ain't all due to the video card.

  • psyx is on!

  • You and your PC are awesome!!! I bow down before you both!!! That PC must have cost about $10,000. I didn't think anyone would have built a beast like this but you did! I wonder if two HD 5970 would perform better, what do you think uploader? And which PSU are you using to power this Mammoth?

  • Can you even play games with dual Xeon CPUs?

  • trubby i understand about the extra qpi lane with the xeons but if you already have a i7 and ur foing to use 1 cpu could u use a i7 ?

    thanks -bioh4zardgaming

  • @Bioh4zardGaming Nope. Note even (1) i7 will work in the SR-2...it has to be a Xeon...other i7s will not post. Sorry.

  • @Trubyd44 poop ... were do i send 50 $ i saw ur other vid and i am a sub ur vids are great work .

  • what fps were u gettin with this?

  • the song of this video is awesome!! can u give me the name of this??

  • Thank for reply.

  • 2 CPU + 4 video cards... lol, 1500W psu makes sence now.

  • @yosmer333 He actually has 2 1500W PSU.

  • i don't think the Xeon is designed for gaming. if the sr2 compatible with i7 980x, then your score should be higher.

  • @jionggezhou Ok, you are not correct here. The X5680 IS a 980X except that the X5680 has an extra QPI lane that allows it to talk to another CPU. The reason, in the past, that Xeons didn't play games too well was due to server motherboard limitations...not the CPU. Every new 'regular' CPU that Intel releases, like the 980X has a server (Xeon) counterpart that is identical except for the QPI link --in most cases. THE 980X CANNOT WORK WITH THE SR-2! It doesn't have the extra QPI lane.

  • @Trubyd44 good explaination however now you need GT580 with your current build which noone had.. oh and in quad sli which noone has done yet either... your score be 49k easy

  • @OmegaFuckingWeapon supposedly it won't work. It's only 3-way SLI compatible. But the 480 is also only capable of 2-way and 3-way according to nVidia. he definitely should try!

  • Can you benckmark in Performance mode, sense I don't have 1080P monitor?

My 3DMark Vantage Score is P13527 (GPU: 14308) (CPU: 11624)

  • I love the music!, and the PC.

  • finally! bouncy boobs @100+ fps

  • Can you make a benchmark of Metro 2033 or Cryostasis maxed out with these cards?

  • @GordonFreeMANness Did you see the Metro 2033 video? Cryostasis to come...

  • Why aren't you using 4 5970s is it because i am over looking something or is there a different reason?

  • @blackblade123 You cannot run (4) 5970s and make them work together. You can only run a maximum of (2) 5970s in CROSSFIRE.

  • @Trubyd44 I knew i was missing something obvious, thanks.

  • @blackblade123 You can't have more than four GPU's hooked up to one computer, in other words.

  • @jacobmcr858 Thanks, that clears it up even more.

  • @blackblade123 2 gtx 480's beats 2 5970's hands down

  • @floridabowhunter I've owned all these cards...it actually takes 3 GTX480s to match (2) HD5970s. In general...

  • @Trubyd44 i have also owned these cards and disagree. it depends what game. metro 2033 runs better with 1 gtx 480 than 1 5970. arma 2 runs better on 5970 , left for dead, killing floor, and battlefield bc2 are better run on the 480 because there is more anti-aliasing options. 1 vs 1 the cards are about even in performance but i would prefer 1 480 any day rather than 1 5970. and 5970's are not really made to be in crossfire. the gtx 480 was made to be in sli and uses its resources better.

  • @floridabowhunter I guess we will have to agree to disagree. :) I do definately agree that optimizations for games do usually prefer one developer over another though.

  • name of the song please!

  • Can you try Heaven 2.0?

  • @Kyodaikuma In my plans...

  • aww i saw you drop down to 6th in only 2 days, what fresh bs is that. hmm maybe liquid nitrogen would be better heheheh, i kid of course. awesome rig and video man just amazing :D

  • Congrats on being #5! You should show your wife you're in the hall of fame, then maybe she will go easy on you the next time you buy expensive hardware. :-D

  • Please tell me the name of the song

  • @dyslecix /watch?v=CS0FtpbNKSM&feature=fvst

  • nice enthusiastic benching man

  • lol i modeling that case now with the SR2 i wonder how close it will be to your real build...and as yet there has been no date set on the release of the EVGA case... i agree and think you are better off with the case you have chosen for further MODS..they are also proposing a PSU to suit aswell . goto EVGA Forums and look at the computex 2010....anyway the case you have chosen is better for more than one reason.....good luck with the build...

  • What a waste .. ;( The scores are really terrible... for two Xeons and PsyX cards....

Temps should be around 35 not 55 ><

    Something is really wrong here...

  • @GenocideBenchmarks Gimme a break! Sheesh!

  • @Trubyd44

Mate I am serious... even I get more scores with a single 980x and 2x 5970 (Not overclock to max)

I don't know whats wrong with your system but the scores are not what u should be getting

  • @GenocideBenchmarks Ok mate...why don't you elaborate on your scores and settings. What are you getting? I used to have the same setup you have and the highest score I got using Vantage Extreme Settings were ~X27K. Which one are you on the Hall of Fame above me? What do you suspose I should be getting, since I am only about 9K points off the fastest computer in the world. Help a guy out!?! Thanks!

  • @GenocideBenchmarks You do realize he is on Extreme setting right?

  • @gor1l1a Probably not...I just went to his YouTube Channel so all his videos are running on a 1920 x 1080 which would not allow him to run Vantage Extreme settings because of course all 'normal' people know you need a 1920 x 1200 monitor. Thanks for the informed comment!!!

  • @Trubyd44 Just throwing this out there but have you tried running vantage with just 3 of the gtx480s? I'm curious about the scaling from 3 to 4. A lot of sites are seeing an actual loss of fps from going to 4 from 3 cards, like the drivers haven't caught up yet, or cpu limitation? CPU Limitation wouldn't be an issue in your setup, lol.

  • @gor1l1a Yeah, I plan on doing testing comparting scaling with GPUs and CPUs.

  • @Trubyd44 Look again you're second!

  • @gor1l1a

    Yes I do...

Even tho she should be getting like 1-2k more

  • lol you beat EtheEnthusiast. I follow his videos too. But dang, how did a single proc Rampage III get #1? Either way this is definitely sucess baby~ Hurry up and do a system showcase!!

  • SSD or HDD?

ps.: The desktop of my dreams.

  • @lilo689 Really...HDD IMHO, I don't see too much difference with an SSD. Especially when you factor in price.

  • Please what's the name of the track ? it's amazing !!!

and please always write the track name in your describtion

Amazing build can't wait for the showcase !

  • @fahdyehia628 I know, I know...I should. I used the AudioSwap feature and liked it. I will try and figure it out and email you! Sorry.

  • congrats, this is one thing that is on my bucket list

  • You're insane. Truly insane in your brain! :D I almost got to unsub soon because you'll make me die of jealousy! :D But that is insane. And can you send me some more pics to my email? If you can, thanks bro. We gotta play soon!

  • @KapteinFruit I know, I know...

  • Could you do some Bench Heaven tests?

  • if you sold that system you could probably feed a city for a few weeks.

  • What did that setup cost you?

  • @Stickado1 A lot!

  • You've gotta have the number 1 :O Whats the difference between yours and the number 1?

  • @incestedmuslim Sponsors. :)

  • have you seen the sapphire 5970 toxic edition? just one card, comes factory clocked at 900MHZ with 4gb 512-bit gddr5 ram. If you have two of these in crossfire, as well as a sapphire 5850 toxic editon in hybrid crossfire, that might be better than 4x 480s.

  • @windows7linux I think you could be right here...I'm not 100% sure though, I know the top Vantage benchmarkers use Maxtrix 5870s...but they are using other tweaks as well. For a 24/7 build, (4) GTX480s would be hard to beat.

  • wow all that and you still drop below 60fps at some parts.

  • @charlegamer Yep, I think that is mostly the fault of un-optimized SLI drivers then anything else.

  • Please make some OC tut for the double CPUs

  • @Stickado1 Eventually...Thanks for the comment.

  • *astonished* that was just sick... :o

hope you got case of the same "stage" for that build :D

  • Are you running both processors and the 4 480s on 1 loop? awesome score btw, most of us cant get 30k on P lol

  • @RaiScapeCannel Yes, one loop...and my Koolance ERM-2K3U is doing a fabulous job at keeping everything relatively cool!

  • So lemme ask did you redo all the graphics cards and CPU with the IC diamond? I saw that you did one GPU with IC diamond and it made a huge difference in temps.

  • @Nadrealis Yes. Everything has IC Diamond on it now...all the CPUs and GPUs.

  • lol 96k on cpu score nice >.>

  • what's the song?

  • dude why do u have an ES xeon?

  • @aloysius444

Because the EVGA-sr2 only supports the xeon 5500 and the xeon 5600 series ;)

  • @Masser34 i know that

but his xeon is a engineering sample, not a retail chip

u can tell by the ES under specification in cpu-z

  • @aloysius444 I guess I don't understand the question...

  • well done there ... i have been watching your progress from the Asus 5970 Quad Crossfire till now..... I use Cinema 4d to render my animations i know what load this puts on a system so Kudos for spending your own money...I would love to build a system like this as it would increase the render of my 3D at HD . i am guessing you completely removed the bottom support above your PSU of the Obsidian Case EVGA due to release there case soon extended Cooler master ATCS 840 with new front bezel

  • @TheABYSSCINIAN I actually sold the obsidian case and am using a Mountain Mods U2-UFO case to fit everything. I didn't know EVGA was going to release a specialized case. Do you know when?

  • Nice vid bud. Can't wait to see it completed.

  • This might be a silly question, but I wonder why you have such an extreme computer? Isn't it complete and total overkill for anything whatsoever you could possibly throw at it? Or have you got a particular line of work that requires a rig like that?

  • @AsifIcarebear3 It is my one and only hobby...that is why. I am a gamer, but you don't necessarily need this power to game.

  • @Trubyd44 I see. I can relate to that somewhat, though I do not have anywhere near your budget or knowledge of computers ^^ Must be quite sweet to always be able to just check the little "ultra" settings no matter what game you play :P

  • @Trubyd44 ya.. you can just use 1 480 and still play games with no lag

  • @Nimerbushnaq Shessh, what a waste of money for me! :D

  • @Trubyd44 ya but this rig is gunna stay good for 3years xD

  • well done on 5th trubyd!!!

  • @Alwyn1000 Thanks!

  • I saw a bit of micro stutter, its a shame really that such a nice system would have ms.

It only happens when the GPUs are being maxed out though.

  • @MADJIHAD1942 I agree...somewhat a shame.

  • @MADJIHAD1942 probably cuz nvidia requires that mobo makers use its nforce200 decelerators for Quad-SLI certification. It's really baffling, too, as all it does is adds no real performance boost (actually a performance deficit in most cases) while adding latency between the CPU and GPUs.

  • What is your profession? Are you sponsored to do these builds? Are you using your own money?

  • @VolcomTomatoe I am not sponsored...all these are from my own funds. My one and only hobby. :)

  • Really nice! 33k!!!!!

  • Can you post a vid of your system, inside and out. Really interested to see what it looks like.

  • @puafia I definately plan on doing that, but will not do it till my build is 'perfect.' I have some more smaller things to do to it and such. I suspect I will have a computer showcase on it by next Saturday.

  • @Trubyd44 Awesome...looking forward to that!

  • I noticed a lot of micro-stuttering in the Nash video. I am surprised this still occurs with the 480s and 4-way.

  • @utengineer5 Yeah, that is just one negative that has to be put up with when running multiple cards. I am thinking like you, surely by now they would have it figured out.

  • @Trubyd44 Of the many SLI Vantage benchmarks I have seen online, I have noticed the micro-stuttering issue is less prevalent with 3-way or odd numbered GPU setups. Hmmm, this good probably be better answered by the NVIDIA or DX coders.

  • why are you not on the 1st place on the list?

  • @DeLaDobleuAlaEle The people that are in first place and such have sponsors and use Liquid Nitrogen...they also don't care to burn a $1600 processor and throw it in the trash and grab a new one out of their bag. Ouch!

  • @Trubyd44 yeahh thats pretty "ouch" to spend 1600$ on CPu and kill it.. but some peoples are reallly really rich ahahh :D

  • @Trubyd44 then i think you are awesome :D

  • Dual LN2 pots and lets go for 1# in the world please.

  • @vearheart42 You know, at one time that appealed to me...but I don't think of that type of setup as a computer. I want to bench high, but I want it to be a usable 24/7 computer. To me, that is the most important thing! :)

  • @Trubyd44 Oh of course that is the most important part. If it were me I'd go for it just because I could.

Anyway I am picking up an RE3 and a Xeon E5620 for my next build. Glad I built now when the 32nm CPU are being released! Awesome scores though ;D

  • Thank you for posting this, your timing couldn't have been better. I was just about to go to bed, but i checked my inbox one more time, and this awesomeness was waiting :D
