amazing idea ,ice cream container, very good for tonality as their is no parallel surfaces. However any bass chamber or box has to be made up of materials as rigid as wood or mdf or thick plastic so that they do reverberate.Any vibration of the walls of the chamber will cause to bass to be muddy and less tight. For all invetors keep this in mind when making your bass chambers(use cross arm supports glued to the walls like an x mark to strenthen any chamber or container).
@cablestar At low frequencies the flexing walls won't make the bass sound muddy because the wavelengths are longer than the enclosure and the frequencies are too low to excite any panel resonance. The walls are vibrating 180 degrees out of phase with the driver and it simply reduces the output from the driver.
yeah...um. you might want to add a what i call an evacuation point. (i don't know the real name) that might give it at least 50% more performance. but the other half is its housing. the housing is too large. of course if you already know that i think... and if not a helpful hint. and one more thing it isn't under powered if the "sub" connected speaker the so called "ohm" needs to be the same but you can change the "watt" as in ex. 4ohm 3Watt -> 4ohm 6Watt (no more than 3x watts or it will fail.
i think it is underpowered look at it i think with a crossover it could range between 20-70 Hertz and those micro subs are really power-suckers id assume its 90 watts? max?
Pretty slick little speaker.... Yeah, you need a much stiffer enclosure and a good seal too. Looks like enough power to get it vibrating enough. The enclosure is way to flexible. Do up a good enclosure and make another video. I'd be real interested in it's performance. Where did you get it and how much? Pretty cool though.
Haha! Punch a whole in the side so the air can get out!!! Lol! Everyone is an expert in YouTube. Darn audio engineers. What was he thinking by not cutting a hole in the side! Lmao
@david96888 you must have not understood that i was making fun of that comment that carlnathan said. I never said to cut a hole in the side. obviously you hadn't seen my video of the same woofer. I did model it before i built the enclosures. mine sound absolutely incredible. (theoretically) flat down 50hz
Where did you get these?

you've under powered it? way under powered it? whut.

@jeremya5 ok before saying anything u should have checked the new videos.i hate people like u.check the newer ones and tell me its underpowered.
BUTTPHACEKILLA 1 year ago
@BUTTPHACEKILLA i was just wondering what amp you were using that doesn't produce enough power?

where can you get buy one of those
houma16 1 year ago
If you prevent the enclosure from deflecting it will sound much better.
DarcyAerisWood 1 year ago
lol wrap the shit out of the container in duct tape to stiffen it up. Might make a difference.
Might do nothing too. Duct tape is cheap enough to try I figure.
What are you using for an amp on this?
davenow 1 year ago
Thats a beautiful 3.5". High roll surround with good excursion for its size. Great for a model car or a powerwheels!

@Kstorm88 a hole in the enclosure is not a port
david96888 1 year ago
@Kstorm88 cutting a hole in the side is worse than leaving it a sealed enclosure! you must have a port tube of some sort.
