It realy is, my husband and i don't realy give each other presents on birthdays or at Christmas, because we can buy what we need, at the time we need it.

I do love to get gifts, don't get me wrong but it does feel so much better to give.

And it doesen't have to be much.

Thankgiving, Sinterklaas, Hannukkah, Eid, Diwali, Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries are all fun times where lots of people spend time with their family and have nice food.

If we all eat a bit less (we stay nice and slim) with the money saved we can give it to a starving person

I have a Friend who is a priest, he is on mission in Kenya and there the situation is as bad. He set up a home made water purifier and the people themselves do a great deal to help themselves but rain for crops is scares and the heath is beyond belief. He and his friend have to cover thousands of square miles. What they really need is the government's help to start to sort the problem out. They claim to have no money, but they have enough for expensive cars.

Totally agree with you EmC. These people do not want our charity - they want help initially in order to help themselves. They are willing to work their fingers to the bone in order to make a better life for their children. The government`s need to set their priorities in the proper order! Love..Jan and Susan.x

I know, that is also why many organisations started to stop giving money and started there own project with the help of local organisations, so they know that the money and help will go to the ones that need it the most.

I wish we could help all, but the only way we can do that is to make people that has good live like us make aware of the problems, and show them that helping issen't a waste.
