its very likely they are civilian own and classified as class 3 machine guns register under the NFA, even the fully automatic glock its machine gun under the NFA, in the military we usually call machines guns to LMG and/or Crew served weapons that can provide high amount of firepower for prolong period of time.

@HabsCabs888 I think you need to stop playing more call of duty and start doing research on what "Machines guns" actually are. Machine guns are any fully automatic rifle, i.e. They are categorized in different sections by firepower. Examples of those are Light, Medium, Heavy, or General Purpose. The proper categories are Sub machine guns, Light machine guns, Battle rifles, Assault rifles, etc etc. Any rifle that fires fully auto is a Machine gun.

I can tell you are not in the gun community and have never been to a shooting range of any sort nor have you been in the military. If all machine guns were " Mounted" or " belt fed" like you said, why would they have a sub machine gun which is neither? Also, anything that is on a Bi-pod is a light machine gun, there is also Tri-pods. The S.A.W. is called an M249 in the gun world, only beginners call them S.A.W.S. and Like I said, they are classed by efficiency.
