Very common for participants to experience weightlessness, dark tunnel with the light, and out of body sensations. It's actually quite easy to find information about it, just use google. Or even better, try it out for yourself through sleep deprivation. It's not whether you get it, because most people do get it. It's what you think those experiences mean.

Most people don't have time for severe sleep deprivation because they have a job, so isolation chambers are a safe and effective alternative if you have money and no time to spare. In my experience, those who call themselves Atheists are those who do not adhere to "dogmatic religion" as you refer to it. Such a religion has a system of principles which all who follow it must adhere to. The lack of any freedom of expression within such a religion is what drives people away from it. For example, the Bible supposedly condemns homosexuality; say a person has a gay friend, that person is then said to be condemned and going to hell. Then again, God loves everyone
Therefore, someone living in this time and place will surely not condemn their own friend, because God will surely forgive them, right? It is at this point that most people with at least somewhat comprehensive critical thinking skills will realize that this dogmatic religion is just a bunch of contradictions, and that is when said person will push it aside and adopt Atheism, which is nothing more than the lack of belief in a 'god'.
Atheism is not a religion, it is not a set of beliefs, it is merely a lack of belief in a what is known today to be an invisible man that lives in the sky. That is not to say that Atheists cannot believe in a divinity, or a higher power.. a greater systematization. Many Atheists study and are intrigued by Quantum Mechanics and other sciences. Atheism leaves room for freedom of expression and personal enlightenment. It is simply the refusal of the stigma of the 'invisible man'.

Many atheists that I know personally, the literature that I read, and personal experience tells me that many atheists think that the Divine, in the eyes oif the "believer", is a "man in the sky". My stance is simple... GOD - religion = good. When you throw in rituals, answering to priests/deacons/pastors etc and following what others do instead of your internal guiding system you are weak. Aka you are "religious". Atheists are generally people who are smart and curious people. But majority of them lack the patience to develop their spirits. Very common for participants to experience weightlessness, dark tunnel with the light, and out of body sensations. It's actually quite easy to find information about it, just use google. Or even better, try it out for yourself through sleep deprivation. It's not whether you get it, because most people do get it. It's what you think those experiences mean.

Most people don't have time for severe sleep deprivation because they have a job, so isolation chambers are a safe and effective alternative if you have money and no time to spare. Please google "isolation tank" or "sensory deprivation tank". High G training is just so effective, that's why I mention it.

The only light I wanted was one mounted to my Glock 19 so I could blind the fucker and fire back! I won't go into too much detail about what happened after, but I defened myself successfully. And I find the idea of a Christian heaven or a pagan heavy to be silly, childish, and entirely human.

I suspect it is because they have access to plenty of food, medicine, and clean water. In my experience, those who call themselves Atheists are those who do not adhere to "dogmatic religion" as you refer to it. Such a religion has a system of principles which all who follow it must adhere to. The lack of any freedom of expression within such a religion is what drives people away from it. My stance is simple... GOD - religion = good. When you throw in rituals, answering to priests/deacons/pastors etc and following what others do instead of your internal guiding system you are weak. Aka you are "religious". Atheists are generally people who are smart and curious people. But majority of them lack the patience to develop their spirits. @TheLydianRocks No,ONE religion= war, poverty, incitement to murder torture and genocide. Two if you're counting the war the crusaders fought thousands of years ago, which no longer concerns us as a society, because you don't see christian people flying planes into buildings and blowing themselves up. You can't blame all religion. The only religion that's pertinent to us as a society, due to the cause of war, is the muslim religion, and atheists aren't more peaceful. Misunderstood, yes.

@TheLydianRocks suppose it comes down to the old Nature vs Nurture debate. Obviously, I fall more on the side of nature here - even if you deleted every holy text tomorrow and religion ended, I suspect it would be temporary until someone with charisma and the genetic basis for spiritual thinking eventually has a loved one die, feels them in a dream, and decides there is an afterlife and starts telling others like him/her. Also, I generally disagree that religion causes war - I more blame

Reread my post above. Atheists are generally spiritually lazy. They have strengths but their understandings and desires dont supply the individual with courage thus they cannot develop spiritually. Religious people are weak minded. They seek approval from others and acceptance rather than doing whats right generally. GOD has nothing to do with religion and its proponents immoral behavior. That is the common mistake atheists fall into. They throw the baby out with the bathwater.

@soccerskilj They aren't "generally" anything. As I have already said, atheist aren't generally anything beyond people who don't believe in god(s). You have no possible way of knowing what their beliefs are simply by knowing they're non-believers, and it's fairly stupid to generalize amongst such an incredibly diverse demographic.

Even if you can, what about all the OTHER religions? Are the big three somehow the only legitimate ones? 3. Even if you convince me you are right about these first two things, why are you "all good" as if belief is all that matters? What about specifics about what you can eat, say, who you can sleep with, etc.? I appreciate it

The Bible also says if you do not accept Jesus as your savior, if you deny the holy spirit, which both Muslims and Jews do, you go to hell. These are three mutually exclusive beliefs.
