Looks like a gem. The animations are way better then Resident Evil which was back in the late 90s too. This game just looks more articulate in every way. Please someone tell me abit about it and if there are more games like this.

I have played this game 2 or times to the credits really good story. Who remembers going tru the tunnels to some sort of paradise. The upper and the under city very apart in feel.

My god........ I remember buying the PCGAMER magasine back in 1997 because that game had a demo on their cd....... what a disapointement because the game was missing lots of files, including the .exe to start the game..... so it was impossible to play the demo.

PCGAMER you sucked back then! not sure if they still exist....

This game was wonderful, unfortunately i just had the first cd so i could never finish it and not even see the second part. The plot was very interesting though.

1997..... Damn how little I was. I remember I was so damn SCARED about this game. It was so deep and unpredictable, you could do anything, even fight friends just to get them angry until you'd eventually become an enemy. The story changes on what you'll do and that was built so well. On top of that its graphics and videos were exceptional for that time, still after 14 years I like the way it looks, the atmosphere, music, speech.. full of blood and horror. One of the best games ever! Nostalgia.

@noelmeehan I think this game didn't get as much appreciation as Resident Evil series got. Personally I believe it was with par with RE 2. DOn't know why it didn't get that much famous.

I am trying to run this now, it seems to get started and then crashes for no apparent reason in Windows XPPro SP3(and in Win95 "mode" it doesn't run at all) Arkhan knowhow, as in people these days forgot what they programmed.(Kalisto is not even a website anymore) if anyone knows how to get this thing to run and stay that way, let me(and fellow youtubers) know...

Microprose never did any game wrong. They are all brilliant, just like this one, Just think of the list: Acrojet, F15 Flight Eagle, Silent Service, Pirates, Colonization, Civilization, Darklands, F19 Stealth Fighter, Fields of Glory, M1 Tank Platoon, B17 Flight Bomber, Gunship, Railroad Tycoon, and I know you could add another dozen!

do u guyz all the different scenarios in this game? like in one, his father is found behind the secret door of Dorkan while dieing. And in other, his father is forced to go to that secret well and touch the light and dies. Same with Zed.

I, too, played this growing up. It was a cheap RPG game that my dad got me at the time but I thought it was excellent. A very under rated game that if you talk to most people today they say "What's Dark Earth?!"

Make a shortcut to the 32k exe.

Right-click > Properties > Compatability > Run in WIndows 95 mode. It just worked for me.

I think you can sheath the weapon but I can't remember the key.

This will work fine on vista with/without the 1.1 patch? I just got the game and eager to play it. I tried it on my old windows 98 pc, but it just looked terrible with all the pixalated and jagged edges. You runnin' this on a regular video card?
