Ummm, Steve Vai is not on guitar, it's you. Although I can barely hear either of you. Properly name your videos, I don't care how good or bad you are. I'll vote you down, I didn't come here to watch and listen to you.
You know I can't stand it when guys give "pointers" on these video comments BUT Here I am making a hypocritical ass out of myself---try playin' the verse parts with as many first position open chords as you can-Not The "power chord" way.The way you are playing it is too much like metal-not like "Big Rock" as Dave called it.
..this has nothing to do with your obvious KILLER ability! Great playin' man!
This insane! man u got, i play the guitar fpr a long time and and knowsome, but are good! what can i do to get there? any tips for how to learn?my level's good, blues, rock, slide, bt not that fast. help me! thx, :-)
Dude, I know professionals making very nice money playing guitar for a living that can't even dream of ripping it like you just did. I'm a bassist and this is one of my favorite tunes when I can pair with a guitarist who have the chops for it.
good stuff, brother. i've taught this piece to a couple of my students and its intense! try a whammy dive bomb at 2:08 like steve does and in the very beginning he plays "2" notes at 26 seconds and 28 seconds into the song...
I'm sorry but WTF are you talking about? Have you ever seen an Vai solo the guy culd play like more than three minutes without hiting a string it all depends on the kind of guitar you are using and believe it or not the wire it's plugged inn.Besides watch the fukin solo it's nothing like the background song stupid.Maybe the guy recorded the sound first and then made the video and lastly he put it all together and uploaded the video. Mimic...My unholy ASSSSSSS mimic you 3rd class sissy scarecrow
Actually, you're advertising this clip incorrectly, as it's not Steve Vai, it's you. However, you're not that bad a mimic guitarist, so good luck to you.
Just imagine how good your playing would have been if it had been you playing your thing, outside of those unison lines, which are necessary in context of this tune, but very restrictive.
Best wishes to you and I hope your playing develops further.
Not really sure why you had to waste space with this less than average attempt at playing a guitar. I would say bore someone else and go to a kareoke bar.
Hahah. I guess some of us try to get attention by playing guitar, and some of us try to get it by whining to a global audience. It seems to work in both cases!
haha touche. i just though he could be a little more of a showman ya know? ive always liked guitarist who could not only rip but also put on a show, but then again thats just me.
that being said i will say that he did a WAY better job then i could do with it without hours of practice on my part. so credit is due where it is deserved
I know what you mean actually, technically it was very good, but the very simple riffing in the verses is really lacking in feeling, those simple power chord riffs are the most fun part to play in my opinion.
credit where it's due, technique is perfectly ok. Tapping and legato are solid, but you need to loosen up a bit when it comes to the pick slides and whammy stuff. Have some fun with it!
Good job. You didn`t do the intro but I don`t blame you. matching the part with the original recording would`ve been damn near impossible due to Steve`s personal touch. Good job on everything else.
has anyone noticed how hard sheehan rips on this song. Why are there no videos of bassists playing this song? Probably because sheehan is the only one that can do it right.
Very nice man, excellent technique. Your hands are actually just like Vais with the technique. Damn I wish I was that talented with a guitar at that age. But dont get a big head yet kid.
I don't see why a 15 year old couldnt play that if they started when they were like 4, Check out the suzuki method on the wikipedia. It's very possible, oh yea, kick ass playing. :)
wtf? of course they can! i started playing at 9 and my guitarist at 10. there are loads of peeps that can play well by early teens. This guy is probably one of them, it was tight and technique was excellent. keep em coming!
fix the levels. i can hear david lee roth and vai more than i can hear your actual playing. i can barely hear YOU. and you dont do the famous vai windmill technique when he does it in the song ;)
Ummm, Steve Vai is not on guitar, it's you. Although I can barely hear either of you. Properly name your videos, I don't care how good or bad you are. I'll vote you down, I didn't come here to watch and listen to you.
