  • Ummm, Steve Vai is not on guitar, it's you. Although I can barely hear either of you. Properly name your videos, I don't care how good or bad you are. I'll vote you down, I didn't come here to watch and listen to you.

  • Ironic. You are the "shy boy". Turn it up and stop hiding behind the original. Good job, I think.

  • good boy!

  • hey i can play some myself but my hats off to you thats awesome work man keep it up !!!!

  • NO WAY!!

  • To be honest I hate giving compliments----but you are an AWESOME player.

  • Killer!

You know I can't stand it when guys give "pointers" on these video comments BUT Here I am making a hypocritical ass out of myself---try playin' the verse parts with as many first position open chords as you can-Not The "power chord" way.The way you are playing it is too much like metal-not like "Big Rock" as Dave called it.

..this has nothing to do with your obvious KILLER ability! Great playin' man!

I love this! How old are you anyway?

  • yeah! nice!!

    now the Gilbert version!!! ;D

  • This insane! man u got, i play the guitar fpr a long time and and knowsome, but are good! what can i do to get there? any tips for how to learn?my level's good, blues, rock, slide, bt not that fast. help me! thx, :-)

  • Your guitar needs to be louder in the mix, it hard to hear you over Vai's playing.

  • how dare you!

  • show off ! ^_^

  • nice playing

  • It's Billy Sheehan song, not david lee roth

  • got that right...

  • Nice man! And playing it standing...on your feet ; )

  • Too easy for ya dude, nice work.

  • Showoff!

  • Very nice, great playing.

  • great playing, but kinda too stiff

  • Good Job , vai rocks

  • shedue est looba sdfibba!

  • that was impressive

  • Nice job Andy, makes me wanna burn my guitar,

    You Rock, good luck!

  • Muy bien, no es claro el sonido de la grabacion, pero esta muy bien, felicitaciones

  • bueno....

  • Nice job. From 1:12 to 1:22 is actually Billy Sheehan making those runs on bass.

  • no its vai and sheehan.

  • Oh ok, sorry. You're 22 years old. You must know a lot more about this kind of stuff than I do.

  • stop beeing pathetic dude ;)

  • yep, it's billy and steve both doing that runs ;)

  • dude! who are you? what just happened???? amazing... nice touch with the black and white...

  • Dude, I know professionals making very nice money playing guitar for a living that can't even dream of ripping it like you just did. I'm a bassist and this is one of my favorite tunes when I can pair with a guitarist who have the chops for it.

  • Sweet! Who the fuck rated this under 5?

  • super tandeta

  • thats just sick, awesome!

  • good stuff, brother. i've taught this piece to a couple of my students and its intense! try a whammy dive bomb at 2:08 like steve does and in the very beginning he plays "2" notes at 26 seconds and 28 seconds into the song...

great job on the arpeggios at 2:05-2:08!

  • Goddamn man, you kick ass. How long have you been playing? And is that an Ibanez prestige?

  • nice work man!!! and Shyboy- what a great choice!!!

  • Crappystruth: ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING?!

This guy is doing an amazing job. Stick to your fucking indie shite and piss off.

  • very good!

  • dont listen to all the other crap comments on here! im learning this song at the mo and its killer!

doing covers is were most musicians start so keep up the good work!

    nice job!

  • Play it with gusto!!

  • Dude nice job but start developing your own style and stop learning other people's solos.

  • thats the worst advice I ever heard

  • You don't get out much then.

  • hmm, get good imitate steve vai then what?

I don't see many people pushing their own music, it's one thing to play it and another to write it.

  • that was better than average. your hairs not long enough yet

  • You are by far the best player of this tune on youtube. Trust me. Great job man.

  • your a faggot

  • i give you props. that rocked my socks off.

  • Wicked, Your playin is BOSS!

  • if you're really playing, stop play back and show what you got?

  • look 0:19 min right hand he don't play the guitar, that's possible

    amazing jajajajajajaja

    you are bad mimic

  • I'm sorry but WTF are you talking about? Have you ever seen an Vai solo the guy culd play like more than three minutes without hiting a string it all depends on the kind of guitar you are using and believe it or not the wire it's plugged inn.Besides watch the fukin solo it's nothing like the background song stupid.Maybe the guy recorded the sound first and then made the video and lastly he put it all together and uploaded the video. Mimic...My unholy ASSSSSSS mimic you 3rd class sissy scarecrow

  • thats stupid, you obviously dont platy guitar...or if you do you're not very good at it

its called hammering-on and pulling-off strings

    dumbass

  • Very good job :)

I like both your tone and playing.

  • Look what i can do mummy!

  • Actually, you're advertising this clip incorrectly, as it's not Steve Vai, it's you. However, you're not that bad a mimic guitarist, so good luck to you.

Just imagine how good your playing would have been if it had been you playing your thing, outside of those unison lines, which are necessary in context of this tune, but very restrictive.

Best wishes to you and I hope your playing develops further.

  • you are right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome, especailly the solo.

  • Not really sure why you had to waste space with this less than average attempt at playing a guitar. I would say bore someone else and go to a kareoke bar.

  • lick my stinky brown rustnut assmunch

    Perfect play Andy

  • Hahah. I guess some of us try to get attention by playing guitar, and some of us try to get it by whining to a global audience. It seems to work in both cases!

  • Good boy, you are great and a very clean hand. Keep on rocking.

  • Excelent video, your'e a very good guitar player!

One little thing, Shyboy is a Billy Sheehan's song, it was played by Mr. Big, David Lee Roth, Steve Vai and each band where Billy was

    Good luck and keep rocking!

  • really good man but this is rock....wheres the passion? I wanna be able to feel it or else its going to feel a little sterile...but nice technique.

  • "Where's the feeling?" There's more than one kind of feeling.

Envy is a feeling, too, by the way.

  • haha touche. i just though he could be a little more of a showman ya know? ive always liked guitarist who could not only rip but also put on a show, but then again thats just me.

that being said i will say that he did a WAY better job then i could do with it without hours of practice on my part. so credit is due where it is deserved

    peace

  • I know what you mean actually, technically it was very good, but the very simple riffing in the verses is really lacking in feeling, those simple power chord riffs are the most fun part to play in my opinion.

  • Its good to play some covers from time to time. But use the other time to work on your own stuff.

Pretty good all in all. :D

  • exelente andy

  • You aren't interesting to watch.. and you need to work on your image..

How can you play DLR or Mr Big or vai or anything without some kind of image.

Other than that the playing is pretty solid

  • credit where it's due, technique is perfectly ok. Tapping and legato are solid, but you need to loosen up a bit when it comes to the pick slides and whammy stuff. Have some fun with it!

  • just practice the song everyday in parts al least 2 hours each days and in 1 year or 2 you will be able to play it perfectly like little stevie

  • awesome dude you made it

  • really good man!

  • move that chair with your jeans on it

  • Not Steve Vai on guitar...

  • steve vai?? lol.

  • "steve vai on guitar" Its YOU on guitar in this vid. Misleading title fix it!! :P

  • Where is the rest of the song?

  • Good job. You didn`t do the intro but I don`t blame you. matching the part with the original recording would`ve been damn near impossible due to Steve`s personal touch. Good job on everything else.

  • the best performance of this song here in youtube! UgurDariveren definately

  • well done

  • whew...I'd like to hear your original stuff and yes..I'd probably buy it.

  • has anyone noticed how hard sheehan rips on this song. Why are there no videos of bassists playing this song? Probably because sheehan is the only one that can do it right.

  • No maybe it's because Billy Sheehan wrote the song ?

  • Very nice man, excellent technique. Your hands are actually just like Vais with the technique. Damn I wish I was that talented with a guitar at that age. But dont get a big head yet kid.

  • Very, very impressive!! I will now pack my guitars into their cases, and put them slowly into silent storage never to be disturbed again!!

  • Great work kid. Maybe play the verse with little more balls.

  • I don't see why a 15 year old couldnt play that if they started when they were like 4, Check out the suzuki method on the wikipedia. It's very possible, oh yea, kick ass playing. :)

  • great job

  • you fucking rock!

  • you are very great.

  • keep working hard and maybe we'll see people copping YOUR guitar parts someday...sounding good

  • you arent 15 you idiot....better update your age cuz no 15 yea old can play multiple vai songs...sounds good though

  • wtf? of course they can! i started playing at 9 and my guitarist at 10. there are loads of peeps that can play well by early teens. This guy is probably one of them, it was tight and technique was excellent. keep em coming!

  • i forgot to add.....loosen up! move about, put some passion into it!

  • plz snd me d tab at senioritadestroy @ yahoo.com..tnx very much

  • plz snd me d tab..tnx

  • Flawless technique with 0 feeling. Gotta love it.

  • yo dude your sick!! nice jammin im workin on that song now and i see how much work i got to do lol

  • damn that's some kick ass playing, cool you copied the moves for the harmonics and the hammer-pull section haha great dude

  • Can't hear it well. Turn up! Seems like you have it down. Writing anything? Waiting anxiously. Great work, keep it up! Peace.

  • Vai would be proud bro, but you gotta get that whammy windmill right, man.

  • lol never can seem to pull that off without fuckin it up........the levels are ok on this....i mean you hear vai but my guitar is louder

  • fix the levels. i can hear david lee roth and vai more than i can hear your actual playing. i can barely hear YOU. and you dont do the famous vai windmill technique when he does it in the song ;)

  • nice! wish i could play like that i love vai

  • damn your good. you're a natural

  • sounds awsome
