paul is such a genius, glad to b in this lifetime. songs he'd written for linda is just oozing w/ so much sweetness and sincerity, i def dont mind listening to this song over and over through the years, this must be one of the greatest love songs ever. So sad and so sweet.
He was amazing and the way he loved her, helped her and makes you think about the vows better worse, richer poorer and sickness and health....till death did they part he loved through each of those vows amazing
It's hard to believe, but ....yes, he is, in fact, this good.... I don't know which I like better, this one or Tug of War. Anyone can be a 3chord rock headbanger. But to create works like these, that's another thing altogether.
"PRESS to PLAY" is one of my fave McCartney albums. Mainly because he was trying something different. There are some outstanding tracks: "Press", "Goodtimes Coming", "Only Love Remains" and the Beautiful overlooked "Footprints". G.T.
what an awesome , touching , gorgeous song . i had forgotten how fantastic this tune is . i wish i had thought of this before we got married so we could've used it as our song . we used " here , there , and everywhere " , which is beautiful but more well known . we had a beatles themed wedding as far as the music and it was an unbelievable hit . we got so many compliments on the " music " we chose . the right music makes such a difference with events , films , or whatever .
ive been looking for a girl who loves paul McCartn ey like i do for years i have got everything hes ever done on vinyl the whole collection originals sing female McCartney fans message me, Liam x
nobody does it better , how in the world does he put those notes and chords together . it's orgasmic . then when ya put an orchestral arrangement behind it , it's heaven . it just makes such unbelievable sense , but not many people can do it . what a gift . this song is so touching , and definitely among his best . gorgeous .
This song has touched me from the very first time i heard it sometime in late 80's....until now it still touches me deeply.......sad sad love song.....
Paul was terrific in the 80s. (Well, when was he never good?) This ballad shows that Paul could keep filling the world with "silly love songs" that really were never silly at all. This song is touching and among Paul's very best.
This song has a haunting quality to it. Very good song. Paul's music changed dramatically after John's death and seemed to take on a melancholy tone. Definitely one of Paul's best.
This is my absolute favorite from "Press To Play"... Yes, that's Jerry Marotta on drums, and the oh so wonderful Eric Stewart on guitar (see him enter from the left at around 0:27 ) Eric co-wrote the album with Sir Paul. This is such a beautiful song - thanks so much for posting it :)
Well, I guess now we know where Shakira got the idea for her "when the friends are gone" line from "Underneath Your Clothes."
Interestingly, Paul is now older than the balding actor who plays "old Paul" in this video...too bad that it's only in this music video that Paul got to spend his golden years with the love of his life.
r u serious? if you believe that, you must be a 17yr old boy from saudi arabia. back in the 80's there was a channel called mtv and it played mostly music. the channel calling itself that today is overrun with "reality" shows featuring one vermin after another. the "songs of today" as you call them get played in between the shows, and during hrs most people are sleeping. its a sad, sad shame what's happened to mtv in my lifetime.
I really missed this tune, good you posted this and you have copy of this clip. The last time I saw this video was during the late 80's, you cant just do anything but to be inspired, you cant have a copy of it unles you have conections or if you're quite rich.Paul is stil amazing, even the great Bob Dylan is stil up to now amazed with McCartney's musicality. Although Dylan was one of the Beatles' early influences. Whos playin the drums on this video? Thanks!
If this isn't on The McCartney Years it's a real shame. I loved this song then and I still love it now...it's a real classic that will be remembered in time.
yes, a forgotten classic indeed. Did you know, this video was filmed 'live' i.e one camera shot continously, meaning Paul and Linda had to around frantically changing clothes etc to fit the various 'scenes' while the camera was panned away from them.
Probably one of his most melodic songs of all time - and that's saying something. It just oozes musical genius.
