  • ye, beat taken from mad crew

  • @ beyo2120

    David Matthews - Sandworms

  • what is that song where he sampled the minnie ripperton 'inside my love" joint, but flipped it...anyone?

  • damn hiphop sucks now.

  • We got the maad maad crew up in the house.

So that's where the beat came from?

  • when he raps hes Large Pro and on the production is Extra P?

  • although it's one of the best mid 90's hip hop singles.. the video sucks, obviously done on a very small budget and with no inspiration.. this should have been a killer video with science fiction overtones...like the sample is from DUNE ..that could have inspired more images itself.

  • yeah, but you have to admit that large pro's jacket and cap make it all worth it.

    the 90's was so money.

  • That is what makes this era of music/hip hop a special one because you did not need a special video, special effects, half naked women, cars, chains, all the shit you see now because the beat, the flow, the music (real hip hop is all you need) I agree this video is weak, but I can sit and watch the video over and over again

  • this was a VERY rare 12" single, even when dropped back in what, 1996? To this day, my peeps hound me for my original wax, as I mixed it on a tape and well, it's kinda gone down in infamy! I had never seen this Video.thanks for posting it. Too bad there was no Album released.

  • He just re-released it and a few other songs on vinyl. I thinks it's called The LP.

    Just coped it last sunday,

  • This track was sick

  • Was?

  • This is all that bangs in my ride!!!!!.....youngsta take NOTES and download these classics before your ears get polluted with the Lil Wayne, Souljah boy and these other nonsense Artist out today!!!!

  • don´t make that mistake there´s a soulja boy (that dumbass superman dude) and there's a souljah boy a real rapper from mo thugs.

  • Still can't believe this sample is Dave Matthew's - Sandworms. That shit it so damn funky!!!!

    Extra P!!!

  • Yooooo, Who ever you are posting the classics. I SALUTE YOU. Real Hip Hop Forever.........

  • The turntable backpack!!!!!!!

  • Large Professor was always one of the best lyricist out there, although he is rarely given his due.

  • I've always loved Large Pro's rhyme and fashion style.

  • still got that on single cassette tape.

  • mad underground.love L-P !

  • even tight shit! Love that Keep the Real Hip Hip alive !

  • people don't overstand this hip hop can not be given a time (it's actually for the future & beyond whats going on in the mainstream today)

  • This Dude is one of the most underated MC's and producers ever.

  • tru dat 718273. The best rappers, producers, grafitti artistss, DJ's, clothing designers in Hip-Hop tend to stay underground and out of the mainstream bullshit

  • Wrong. Every human tries to make money when possible.

  • Maybe popspie, but not every Hip-hop entrepeneur succeeds in doing so because of the way the powers-that-be are set up above them (i.e. recording executives and A&R personnel, lawyers, managers, etc). Large Professor was and still is mad talented as an MC and producer, so why didn't he blow up as he should have? Something or someone prevented him from doing so and kept him underground, or he chose not to go that route. Hip-hop is like a huge body of water; garbage always settles on the top

  • tru hip hop phuk that otha shyt people laugh at me cuz am stuk in this age but hey whut else is there. Maybe a few albums but they still don't match up.

  • Me too...all my peoples say Im stuck in the past...I think we hear what they cant...lol

  • Damn its the saaame shit with me too lol.. w.e at least I know its the best shit right? But Underground/indie hip hop is still large ha

  • when ur forced to listen to the lil waynes and plies and ace hoods of today,it amazing more people aint stuck in the past like us.everyone should be.its really no comparison.music has been like a reverse evolution if u ask me.its in its athritic and alzheimer stage

  • hes good

  • he's a realist, illest,in the rap game.this is hip hop. main souce,check it out y'all.

  • Damn, Extra P way underrated. He makes it look so effortless. Classic.

  • bape the boom box

  • I think I sound like a grumpy old man...but...I have to say, that I miss the real hiphop from way back in the 90's!!!

  • Release please!

  • I'm from the chi, the cats from NYC was dope as hell back then

  • shooda neva been shelved.....

  • omg only 28000views....gawd

  • Yea I respect this shit here. This is boom bap hiphop's original formula. We need one more golden era of hiphop again. The shit now aint nuthin compared to the real dope.Much respect to the pioneers

  • i like the girls on this vid rather than what they have now..

  • Large Pro one of my top 5 fave dj's/producers

  • All I know is that I am forcing my kids to listen to this unless they magically discover this on their own. We are lucky to have grown up during influential and groundbreaking hip hop eras. Nowadays, it's sad. My IPOD has 3000 songs and I don't think one of them is from after 1999.

  • im 22 and i love the golden era of hip-op!! when good music was played on the radio now we got this bling-bling, cars, hoes junk being played its not hip-hop songs with no originality! but hip-hop isnt dead its alive and well listen to UNDERGROUND HIP-HOP! thats where its at now. check my playlist and my favorites! for some underground hip-hop and some SOME GOLDEN ERA HIP-HOP!!!

  • i aint even gonna say nothin anymore cos uk hiphop aint even worth arguin bout

  • they just dont make good music like this anymore just dont

  • this shit here reminds me of when hip hop was real back in 96. gas was cheap every album that came out then was hott.

  • which album is this?

  • Dam son i dont even remember when this video came out!! i must have been a kid cuz i lived right where this cat large pro lived, i lived right there in those buildings he rappin in front of 42-55 colden street KIDD!!!!

  • This is a classic fa real. This brings me back to high school in Brooklyn, the 90's was an real creative time in Hip Hop. Thank god for You Tube

  • thank god for large!

  • I used to have the cassette maxi single for this joint. Tape almost broke because I was hitting rewind so much. "Neva had a basement neva had an attic. Only an apartment where I forever had static." The story of my life. Dope rhymes.

  • Cinematography on this video is incredible. "Put it through the S950 then stretch it!"

  • Ha, Colden St, in Flushing, my block.

  • This classic was on when Video Music Box used to be on everyday after school

  • back when rappers dropped their 3rd verse the same as the 1st verse...CLASSIC

  • Thank God for youtube! Otherwise I might not see another "real" hip hop video in my life! I want to see all these old skool mcs come back and beat the S#%t out of guys that produce the "anti-hip hop" that passes as hip hop these days...

  • Exactly. I waz just tellin my boy like damn bigups to you tube and to all tha people that post these Real HipHop Vids!

  • word is bond.

  • the sad shit is BET and MTv have all of these videos in their vaults. the should syndicate all those old Yo Mtv Raps and old Rap City episodes. Everyone over 25 year old would tune in like it was fuckin American Idol.

  • Amen!!!I'm dyin to get at all these old classics.

  • do u by any chance have any one of those old rap City & Yo! Mtv Raps episodes? please holla at me if u do, ASAP!!

im an old hip-hop head and i collect those joints. And by the way, this is classic '96 shit right here! 10th grade baby!

  • fuck yeah, I'm not even from america and I would kill to see that shit again...

  • one of the best tracks ever!

  • Gotta love the ending @ 3:47 with the turntable on the back with the words "The Mad Scientist" printed backwards on the turntable mat...straight hip-hop classic shit right there and my favorite joint off that entire THE LP Album would have to be "Spacey" because Large Professor killed that Hubert Law's sample and it could'nt have sounded even more sicker from the way Extra P dissected it and added those boomin drums in there.

  • word, that was the illest part

  • Rap used to about the struggle and the rise, not bitches and bling like now...LP is among the best from the 718.

  • Wow, I remember Method Man and Redman sang this in Blackout?

    Cool funky shit

  • ya they used the base line, i like this version better tho.

  • YO FOR REAL WE ALL NEED TO GET TOGETHER AND BRING BACK THIS TYPE OF HIP HOP. DAMN LISTEN TO HIS WORDS!!!!!!!!! LOL Remember when you could listen to rap city for the whole 2 hours without changing the channel. Well mayby one or two times.

  • man, he is better than alot of these so called gangster rappers. gangster is dead, rappers like large professor, guru, are going to get their due. They were just before their time

  • I remmeebr this joint. He had flow and this background is tight.

  • dopeness from summer 96 too bad them album to this never made it to the massive.

  • XTRA P is nice on the mic...mad cats dont even remember main source.

  • that is gangstar!!

  • Large Pro/Professor, Extra P, 1/3 of Main Source, 1/2 of Da Beatminerz, Black Moon/Smif N Wessun/Nas/TCQ/Pete Rock/etcetc producer, this guy is the shit. Plus the video is cool.

  • The Da Beatminerz were Mr. Walt, Baby Paul, and Evil Dee.

Not Large Professor. He's on his own since Main Source, def hot beatz, though.

  • ohhh...yeeeaaah...i havent seen this video since like 96..you just made my day extra P...big up!

  • breaking atoms is dope

  • Large Pro's version of the sample is waaaay better then Meth & Reds version

  • This is the same sample Meth and Red used on their album. Forgot the song name tho.

  • "Maaad Crew"

  • Great song, I didn't care too much for it when it came out though!

  • LP was big in Chi Town in 95...had a cousin from east new york lay it down here

  • Classic Video...Rember they played it on Rap City back in the dayz when I was in High School..classic video!! L.Professor iz off the chain, No doubt!!

  • the sample on this song is "Sandworms" by David Matthews ( not the dave matthews band )

  • I had this cd single in the 90's.. I havent heard it in awhile

  • was that puffy (not yet diddy) in the club, or just a look-alike?

  • I haven't heard this one in a while. This is a good beat to freestyle off.

  • Oh man, I've been waiting on this one. Thanks.

  • Whoa, never seen this one before. Extra P's the man!

  • Dope and nobody else did it...props

  • LOL see? I gave people a WHOOOOOLE year to put it up. It's all over w/ when I put up the Joe Clare and Mother Superia interview.

  • Yo...what would be dope if you could find Mother Superia's "Most Of All" video! I have yet to come across one person who has the video including Genius himself (who directed it)when he came to ATL for a show!

  • Gotcha :-)

  • LOL.

I've also gotta give up the props to ya, ParadigmShift302. I first heard the instrumental of this YEARS ago. I'bve probably spent the best part of at least a decade trying to find out which rap artist was responsible for this!

    YouTube is the greatest! :D

  • Amen, to that
