  • You see how incredibile is this laptop when he closes the case :)

  • *optional hard disk*

    gosh

  • WOW! An apple machine that you actually take apart!

  • Time, my friends, is a bitch. Apparently it not only screws over people, but technology as well.

  • if i could travel back in time i would take my macbook pro and show it to them and tell them this is an incredible resolution and it is larger and lighter.

  • It seems the Computer Chronicles website has been taken over by domain squatters.

  • He said icad

  • Comment removed

  • It sounded like he said iPad at 2:09

  • This is the year i was fuckin Borne!!!

  • 16 mhz wooow.

  • so stupid comments...

  • @minxkitty8 as opposed to not having animation

  • God I hate hipster kids hating comments. Obviously, the world emerged into an existence well after 1997, around the time they were born.

  • @endimion17 lmao

  • "You can have animation"... As apposed too...?

  • I wonder what people will say if I traveled back in time with an area 51 gaming computer....

  • I LOVE how it took a dump when he was showing off "hibernation" lmao.

  • OMG! It makes bird noises! does it make pig noises? Then I guess I can't play angry birds on it :(

  • it sounded like he was slamming the hood of a car when he closed the the lid

  • Compared to literally any other portable computer, sewing machine sized or smaller, this was amazing. A GUI, a crisp monitor with graphics for *everything,* proper sound, enough power for CAD and desktop publishing too. Too bad it was more expensive than a basic commuter car and weighed a tremendous amount thanks to its car-style battery.

  • Wow, 16MHz was blazing fast back then lol.

  • @laxkid531 If we showed that guy a fucking '17 Core i7 2011 MacBook Pro he would first, shit himself, then he would have seizures, then he would have a giant erection until his balls fall off

  • Well it was a smoking machine in its time. Especially the battery life! 10 to 12 hours? Wow.

  • i wonder if it can play crysis lol

  • 16Mhz??? thats faster than mine!!

  • 16 megaherts pfffff

  • lead acid, lol

  • That's the same screen as my original gameboy

  • It was revolutinary for it time. Apple always beats Microsoft when it comes to deadlines.

  • 2:10 it almost sounds like he said "not an iPad right?" LOL

  • @NeoZource - I had to listen to it 3 or 4 times before I realized he was saying "not a Ni-Cad, right?" referring to the type of battery. But you're right, it really sounds like he said iPad. :D

  • animation wow holy crap. lol

  • its real entertaining that he used allot of the explanations and descriptions that are still use allot in every new notebook that is reviewed

  • 16mhz holy christ

  • A lead acid battery? That would account for 90% of the weight...

  • beautiful piece of shit you got there

  • Looks like a DS

  • That screen's quality doesn't look too bad! Oh wait...I'm only watching in 240p ;)

  • great for porn on the go lmao

  • Since when is 15lbs considered portable?

  • Wooooww, Animation?! :P

  • Good ol' memories!

  • HS thats the guy who really invented dos but lost the contract to microsoft. he got killed in a bikie bar. :(

  • even when these came out I thought the display was too small

  • A 16 MHz processor??? OMFG!!! Get me one of those machines!!!!!

  • If we could jump 22 years forward and show the iPhone 4s to someone, they probably would call us retards too...

  • most laptops today can't even get 12 hours of battery life. Pretty good.

  • @metro2002 they also don't have 16mhz processors and batteries the size of a car.

  • Nvidia graphics cards and got nothing on this !

  • lead acid ahahaha yeah those are banned now

  • can it play crysis?

  • i wonder if this could play battlefield 3 :S

  • Sponge from salute your shorts had one.

  • Show him a PC with 1330 MHz....

  • Lol imagine bringing the iphone back to that time D:

  • 16 MHZ :O NO WAY !!!

  • "Incredible Resolution" ...LMFAO

  • holy shit.. 16 MGz 0.o

  • Technology has evolved so quickly within my lifetime. There must be a climax to all this, soon. We will probably turn ourselves into a star, or pierce our way into the fourth dimension. Something insane. For sure.

  • What will they think of next? You should be able to download a picture in about a day or two.

  • It is a milestone. lol

  • Could probably get this thing now at a garage sale for under 10 bucks. I'm finally ready to purchase one.

  • it has the same 10 hour battery life as an ipad

  • "We are moving into an age of graphical user interfaces"

    He got that right!

  • "Twice as fast" Like always! For how long will everything stay twice as fast?

  • in terms of the ports on the (laptop) Portable Computer the amounts have shrunk. the MAcbook air has ONE Usb Input

  • wow if we went back in time and showed that man an iphone he'll probably shit himself

  • @laxkid531 he'll shit brix

  • @laxkid531 OMG, I was just thinking that same exact thing! lol Of course you might get hanged for witch craft... ;-)

  • @laxkid531 People will be saying that 20 years past 2011 :D

  • @laxkid531 what about a macbook air?

  • @laxkid531 and the iPhone is HD :P

  • @laxkid531 Well when the iPhone first was announced people pretty much did that

  • @laxkid531 Actually you need to run backwards at a speed of 99999999miles to go back in time

  • I already pre-order mine. I can't wait...

  • @jaarcomp lol

  • haha when he put to sleep and closed it, it sounded like a door slamming lol

  • I wonder what computers will be capable of in 20 years.

  • @grimtendo Once they are so thin that you only have a edge-less screen with super high resolution at 300 frames per second, and 500 yottabytes, I guess the only thing worth adding is waterproof capabilities...

ever saw that windows futuristic video? ill send it to you...

  • 2:50 The thing broke and never worked again. Yours for $6495.

    Same old Apple LOL.

  • it can has animation!

  • We can just shut it*BOOM*

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahahhahahah its so sad

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS THE SHIT FUCKING CUP HOLDER?!?! FUCK!!!!!!

  • Where are my USB ports!!! I'm NOT buying this!!!

  • lol who buys this thing? I would rather buying an Mac book or an ipad 2!

  • @electroneticTV You're a fucking idiot.

  • haha "pointing devices"

  • The Apple dude looks like Ed Rooney from Ferris Beuler's Day Off

  • wow "on a plane" he said.

like that would fit. Looks like a bomb.

  • Gary Kildall is a real genius he was flying his plane when IBM came a calling for his operating system. In the end Microsoft bought a clone of that OS from Seattle computer company and got the IBM business.

  • nice paperweight

  • LIKE A BOSS!

  • RIP Steve, you fixed this mess

  • OMG IM SO GETTING ONE!

  • Wow... Macs use to be easy to take apart...

  • 16 MHZ!

  • Better hope those batteries are SLA or else you will need HAZMAT to haul that machine off.

  • i was watching this on my macintoh portable (macbook pro)

  • Watching this I had to laugh. My company in California (PARC) was networked in 1973 using the Xerox Alto which used a GUI or (mouse) Whatever you would type on the Alto is exactly what was laser printed on paper! We loved it! Apple actually took Xerox's idea and ran with it! These guys look scared/intimidated by this machine lol - so funny!

  • ...a lead-acid battery. Means seriouz biznezz.

  • Woah... there's a transister behind each pixel? So that's like... a whole two transistors. Amazing!

  • with...ANIMATION ._.

  • Hahahahah, it's powered by à car battery. Thank god for fast evolution of technology.

    .

16 MHz processor, wow dude that is just wow.

  • I remember seeing an Accountant who used to visit who was a friend with our family. He had what I thought was a 'black and white' laptop/small computer. This could have been that, but I recall he could maths functions, so may have been an early workings of Excel. Really impressed me, back in the day.

  • "15.7 Pounds" o.O? My Laptop Weighs 3 Pounds haha

  • "It Would Be A Little Embarrassing Havinq A Usb Mouse Around" LMFAO It Would Be fkn Embarrassing Havinq That Thinq Around..

  • those graphics are amazing

  • @diegorot1 I suppose they kind of are for 1989 in a way.

  • omg that battery looks like a car battery, i´m surprised about the computer evolution, just 20 years!!!!

  • "A mouse is essential" not these days, I'm a Windows user, and I have a laptop with a broken mouse... I use that without a mouse, and it's easy. I don't know about Mac though...

  • sleep functions have never worked right. even 20 years later.

  • looks like dino ds

  • its incredible to see how computers have evolved over a mere 20 years

  • man_o_man that was the days when you could actually take the battery out of a MAC product . Where did they get lost?

  • 10-12 hours?! damn! that's actually really good!

  • @stefanstroe91 Yes but it was a very simple computer and that was probably only when its just on without working on it

  • @ReddoFreddo Well, I still think it is a very good time, nowadays notebooks still can't get that time, even without working on them... Or not many notebooks can get that time...

  • It can play Crysis on max

  • @Sac077 Lame joke.

  • @slugnbozo Unnecessary reply

  • Comment removed

  • HOLY SHIT 16MHz. Goodbye Intel Core i7. :D

  • 16 mhz.... =]

  • Oh my god!

    ACTIVE MATRIX! ANIMATION! TRACKBALL!

And HOLY FUCKING BALLS! 16 MHz!

Wait... Sweet Jesus.. STEREO SOUND BUILT IN?!!?

    OMG... IT MAKES BIRD SOUNDS!!!!!

All this for $6495?!! And it's only 15.7 pounds?!

  • @ElementalChaosLP In 1989, this would have qualified as amazing. NiMH and Li-Ion batteries were still engineering wet dreams for laptop computers at this point.

  • @ElementalChaosLP pretty sure he mean 64.95....but idk, i cud be wrong

  • Screw a mac book air cuz i can get a windows machine :P BUT SCREW THAT i want this!

  • OMG LOL Those iPads were only 32 gigs. I can fit a yottabyte of data in my pocket today. A touch display LOL I can control it with my thought.

  • OMG it has built in stereo sound

  • He talks about macintosh like macintosh patented mouse, keyboard, screen and all other stuff that computer has

  • Shit this is the first laptop.

  • @lukaqota yeah, pretty much :)

  • It has very high resolution XD

  • He forget to say it can Max Crysis

  • Did he say iPad at 2:09?

  • this o.s. looks like win 3

  • How typical for an Apple product:

Tons of features, beautiful case, idiot-proof OS....

But the thing is built by morons, and may your chosen god help you if you have a hardware error.

  • you can take the battery off, and then put it back in xD

  • When is it going out for sale?

  • oooh pointing device on pc

  • 2:58 Whoops...

  • It has more ports than Macbook Air

  • amazing - this is before powerpoint, the thief in the night who steals our time and sells it to conference calls worldwide.

  • @Mrxorhomor computers now days do have that battery life, most dont due to the superior computing power of today's systems . My iPod touch4g probably has more vomiting power than all of NY during that era, I could probably guide ship to the moon using a 99 cent app. Get over it

  • 2:30 try and do THAT with your macbook pro.

  • Looks Like a Fisher Price Laptop :D

  • @PCGamerL4D haha yes like a kids toy laptop for ages of 5+ and over.. :) these laptop toys with the tin screen in the middle.

  • It;s all modular construction.

You can take it apart -- KLONK KLONK KLONK

    No problem.

  • Man the thing resumed from hibernation in a nanosecond..... And then crashed :)

  • What the fuck 10-12 hours? Why can't laptops today do that.

  • slam that case down! alot more tough back then hey.

  • ITS SO STUNNING!!!!!!!!

  • It's like a giant nintendo ds.

  • @telecomboring What's scary is that the nintendo ds can run circles around that...

  • @telecomboring except when that was made color existed

  • at 2:51 the computer turns off for good after waking up from sleep lol

  • I envy that awesome mustache.

  • @m1rock Don't be....it's just a brake system for the boogies

  • $57 for a mac notebook!! Yes please!!

  • @lewys258 $5795

  • @lewys258 idiot

  • The first portable Mac weighed thirteen pounds... the new MacBook Air weighs two. Wow.

  • ANIMATION?! ANIMATION?! THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF TRANSISTORS!?

  • ANIMATION?! ANIMATION?!

  • Lol it's not even in color

  • did he just said 40 mb hard drive

  • +-20 years my dad had a st.clear computer and odds are he thought it was the coolest thing he ever bought his next computer (which was handed down to me in somewhere a round 2005) had 7GIG hard drive (what piece of shit it was.)now I have a 500 gig external a newer computer a 20 gig main hard drive and a 80 gig slave

  • @robodudeable your poor father must've paid through the asshole for that computer you now call a "piece of shit"!

  • ONLY 16MHz CPU...WOW

  • It's amazing how much those computers could do with the resources they had.
