  • @CushiticSomalianMale you are a big lair, somali plle never worship woods or fake gods!! we born like islam and we take islam religion deeply so back off and take with your propoganda comments........love the songggggggggg K'naaaaaan inspires me muaaaah.

  • @ShibisGurl4life Actually the people that use to inhabit what is now known as somalia did worship gods such as hobaal and waaq. These ancient gods are still used in modern somali today, such as the poem hobaalo hobaalaeey, and barwaaqo the term used to describe times of abundant rain, bar known as rain back then and waaq the god, meaing gods rain(waaqs rain),

  • @nomadicphilosopher11

thats right bro, and that is pre islam, a.k.a in other words Before islam reached Somalia.. before we the Somali tribe of Africa, got converted to islam and eventually left out native Pharaoh'nic religions... of Hoobaal and Waaq... so yeah well said bro, i see you still acknowledge the stpry about our ancestors faiths.... stay blessed bro and stay educated

  • Those who are non-Somali. I dont think the word Hobaaloo hee dheh means any thing in English its just a melody we sing. In Somalia when nomads are watering their cows, camels, sheep or any thing they often develop their own melodies to make them forget the work and make time pass. This is the origin of our poetry. We often begin with a well known melody and end it the same manner. This is the same. Its like Latino's CHA CHA

  • For some odd reason I feel like Somalians have a lot to do with us Arabs , may be cause back then we had a lot of trading going in between , marriage and religion

  • @akhodari if you have all those reasons why would you say some odd reason lol

  • @shayaan2354 odd as in surprising and not bad ya na3s :P

  • @Kayse2010 "HOOBAL – alternatively HOOYAL – was probably the best known of all Somali gods and continues to dominate Somali poetry and traditional folklore songs. In modern Somali today, HOBAL, was understood to mean ‘Artiste’. The ancient god was probably the patron-god of Somali literature"

This was before Islam in Somalia

  • @Kayse2010 hobaalo hee dheh, very simply means hobaalo answear, as this was the god worshiped before islam reached somalia, this bobaalo poem, which is now know as was a way of communcating with hobaal, like a prayer performed by the people

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaw its amazin kip dat sprit knaan am broud of you

  • what does it mean

  • @afrothuder I wish i could translate it for you..but I am not that good translator and English is very dry for that poetic verse in Af-somali...

  • I totally agree English is dry

  • It was a song sung, by nomad, when a catastrophy has hit them

  • or in some cases when they are hung-over lol

  • Adunyada han waynida ilmaha loo halgamayaye, hobalayow heedhe, Hawadana ragba tago dayaxa hoos u soo dayaye hoobalayow heedhe, Halka ninki hurdee taas ogeen halisti weeyane hobalayow heedhe, Anagana habenada dhashiyo hilibka moyanee hobalayow heedhe, Inaa dhiig dhulkena u hurna way haboontahaye HOBALAYOW HEEDHE

K'naan keep it bro we love u

  • @knaanbest what does this mean in english? I really wanna know

  • dude i wonder if u are somalian...but if i try to translate it in english. from 3:08 to 3: 38 he saying''' in this world people are in compettion with education,,some of them are reached for the air and looked down the moon.and those who are in deep sleep and unaware for that, indeed they are in danger.''SORRY for the rest it's hard and complicated to find proper words in english...:D peace and love

  • @knaanbest Isn't the last part, Inaa dhiig dhulkene u hurna way haboontahaye, something like: "I would shed blood for my country if necessary die for it." I thought it was something like that, am I right?

  • @bassmastar thats exactly right brother..

    Bless SOMALiAN = K'naan
