  • kid

  • ...00:51 saw the word "prepair"...

    Leaving the video now...

  • Wow, some of the harshest, and most absurdly insane, critics in the world must live on Youtube and apparently have chosen to shit on your video like pigeons on the statue in the park.

  • Say, that link to the videomaker thingy is gone. Know another download site that might have that kit?

  • Prepairing to thumb down.

  • thumbs up if it was made by a twelve year old

thumbs down if it was made by some 20-something hipster

  • @bronlokis i am 40 now

  • @lestube001 that's worse.... and sadder.

  • @bronlokis fail

  • nice jobe dude, ignore haters

  • Looks like some people take things too seriously. I like your imagination and you did a great job trying to reinvent this battle using various footage... the sound effects were a great added touch.

  • It's actually the battle of New Caprica

  • Its actually funny watching BSG with Star Wars music, laughed when I hear it

  • Plus that ain't the music from star wars, its from aliens!

  • had to mute it

  • Added in sound effects rape my ears.

  • This is how shall i put it........... Poopy!

  • I had a feeling by the cheap writing he made, this guy would add star wars music...

    -.-

  • FUCK! Stop adding your own music. Leave the clip as is

  • An okay video can be ruined by the spelling in the titles.

  • you have spelling errors in your video.... and what the guy below me said. this video sucks!

  • what's the name of the music while galactica and pegasus are fighting?

  • ehmmm ehhhh

why are the vipers shooting training lasers at 1:55?

  • the cylons prepair to attack? erm shouldnt it be prepare? lol

  • Dude this is rubbish for several reasons

A: the footage is the exodus from New Caprica

B: the Vipers werent in Space Galactica launched her Vipers in the atmosphere to aid in the evacuation to put a fighter curtain up to take out the Occupation Garrison and its Raider Support,Pegasus left Her Vipers with the Civilian fleet so it was purely a Basestar,Battlestar slug fest.

C: Your music my god Aliens and Star Wars........the prequel soundtrack thats like nails down a chalkboard..

  • @Hauntedman1 wtf is wrong with you.? the video was made with clips from the scfi channel.the brief was you could do what want with them.i like my scfi random.i dont have to follow rules of some scfi bible .i like cross over stuff.watch out for DR who meets tron video

  • @lestube001

Dear god I hope your joking.....

Yea I cant help knowing everything ;)

  • @lestube001 If thats the case then dont name it BATTLE OF HIFUS because people are gonna think im looking for BSG battle of Hifus not some random crap...........Think that doesnt make sense.........I would understand if it was Battlescenes but not just one particular battle replaced with a buntch of other random stuff....I really doesnt make sense

  • @lestube001 there are alot of videos like this and have so many negative comments just like Hauntedman1 so i dont know why you even bother. just make them and dont post them to tell you the truth but thats just if you dont want to get shit from people. To tell you the truth i hate it when people do shit like this because it ruins the show for most people who are expecting actuall scense with the voice acting and the actual music rather then just abuntch of " random syfy "

  • @lestube001 No, he's right. The latter 3/4th of the battle is the Exodus from New Caprica. The quarter was random clips. The music kills it though.

  • @Hauntedman1 I've got to agree. The sound effects and the way it's cut just make it come off as corny. You did a good job on the video, but it doesn't make sense in the context of the show.

  • @Hauntedman1 SO WHAT EXPLAINS THE RAPTER AND VIPERS ENGAGEING THE BASE STARS after the jump

  • @Hauntedman1 quit bitching you faggot cunt , the kid did a nice job . Get a fucking life

  • Yeah.... that was a crap video lol. sortof funny but ehh lol

  • Which Aliens is this? I can't find any samples anywhere!

  • allien music right?

  • Jesus dude, if you're going to spend all this effort into putting a movie together then at least spell the damn subtitles correctly!

  • I actually liked the sound effects mixes in there a lot, you did a great job, of making a great cinematic experience. Sadly this will get removed but before it does, well done :)

  • @paareth why ?

  • I'll send you a mail :)

  • @paareth Well it still isn't removed. ^^

  • @paareth CC

  • @MANBEARPIG248 and others - Yeah I am really happy the music source has been placed on the video, when I made the comment I was ranting and raving about several videos getting taken down for ridiculous reasons, which is mostly what youtube has become, a corporate ruled joke. Thankfully this video sticks several indiscriminate fingers up in the direction of the multinational scumbags, and waves high the banner of artistic freedom.

Still a great video this third time around :).

  • Love the Dune soundtrack.....

  • Aliens in there ;)

  • @TalonBlades Its 'Aliens'

  • rofl prepair

  • Oh yeah and Star Wars too!

  • Are some of those explosion sounds from Star Fleet Command???

  • thats not battlestar galactica, thats a shame

  • what ???

  • lol what? the show was brilliant, sorry it wasn't just brainless fighting

  • @mattdawg83686 And just what is wrong with soap operas?

  • "thePsychic chair used to create the gates or wormholes psychically. -Man Out Of Time

Is this what they're doing with the Hadron Collider....little black holes....searching for other dimensions.....hope they don't forget to shut the door after them."

"You could ha've heard a pin drop, when Tommy stopped and locked the door."

  • This scene, with Galactica being pounded by three Base Ships always reminds me of the song "Coward of the County," by Kenny Rogers. "They took turns...and there were three of them." "He wasn't holding nothing back. He let 'em have it all."

There is something else that is interesting. I've noticed that the three Klingon vessels is a recurring theme in Star Trek, as well. The Kobayashi Maru had three Klingons battlecruisers. So did Yesterday's Enterprise, as well as Picard owning Tomalak.

  • There is a connection. It is esoteric.

  • Hey. There were even three Romulan Warbirds in the Star Trek episode where Data was in command of the Southerland. He detected them, when cloaked. Three's. The Three Sisters?

  • 01:43 - Reduce all engines to 1/3. Course correction (enter X, Y coordinates). Reorient and train forward batteries on Base Ship Two...and fire.

Apollo had more time, at that distance, to engage at least one more of the Base Ships with Pegasus' forward batteries, before settling into a point blank slug fest...had he reduced speed.

  • spell check when u make a vid please....

  • Season one of this show kicked ass, almost on par with LOST, but then it got a bit wattered down, but overall a fantastic remake of the BSG saga... I have all 4 seasons, but the first episode i burn a hole in it watching it over and over...

  • @biggee316 you cant compare lost to bsg. lost is 6 series long bulsh1t on an island with no ending and explanations:-)

  • @biggee316 I had two mates who stopped watching it when the final 5 were revival. It just seemsed to go stupid. Great affects and storeys within storeys. Very dark unlike the camp 80's version, which I loved..

  • @biggee316 season 1 was good season 2 was better and season 3 was good untill half way though but good drama but season 4 not sure what happand once again good drama but didnt understand what was going on.

  • Haha you spelled prepare wrong, loser.

  • tho there is some starwars music

  • The music on this is not from starwars but from Aliens...

  • dune as well

  • This music is from Dune. The De Lorentis version, not Sci Fi.

  • no sound in space mate

  • Lol, this is awful

Dont mix BSG with shitty star wars music, it just does not go at all

    its not allowed to!

  • i hope you dont mean the first song. thats from aliens, a badass movie. but i do think that song is also in predator?

  • First scene in Dune?

  • physics discussions aside, this was a bad cut.

  • Yes, there is no sound in space. There's nothing for the vibrations to travel through. However, there's a very good reason shows/movies like Star Wars, Stargate, and Battlestar have sound effects in space. To keep things interesting. Are you going to watch something where you can hear nothing but music playing again and again? Most likely, no. This is why sound effects are added, not to break the laws of physics, but to make the scenes more entertaining, more able to grip your attention.

  • sound is vibrations. if a force hits the craft you are in (or the omnipotent camera), it will cause vibrations, and thus, sound. range of sound is only as far as the force reaches however, and with no air for a shockwave to travel through, the range of explosives is greatly reduced.

  • For a start, Star Wars theme for BSG video....NO!!! ffs, it doesn't work at all!

And for the argument about sound in space... If you really want not to hear anything in space, turn your speakers down! The rest of us would like to hear explosions thank you very much.

  • they even tried to make it as real as posible. that's why the sounds in space sound so different from anything ive heard before. not like Sg1-Atlantis where you could here everything.

  • lol there is no sound in space

lol those explosions in space should be mute

  • wow, youre a real genius, with that knowledge. We din't know that, thanks for the enlightement

  • lol, you can hear explosions in space when you are close enough (km), the gas from the fireball acts just like air on earth

  • If you could hear it over the sound of your own screaming

  • nope, wrong, it dosent matter how close you are, sound does not travel in space, even if u were inside the explosion u woulsnt hear it

  • wrong, lulz

sound does travel in matter (gas, fluid and solid matter) it is created by local commpresion of the particles

the explosions are made of gas, hence the gas allows the sound to propagate, nevertheless the flak guns and rocket motors leave a great deal of gas around the ships

    lulz, you're wrong

  • but, heres a question for you that everyone should already be able to answer. which will travel faster, the gas from the explosions, or the sound output from the explosion.

  • it's the same thing

  • Im going to say the gas.

  • it's a dumb question.

like asking for reality. Nobody would watch a show where the sounds happen 20 seconds after the causes.

You can go back to your joint now.

  • u can hear for about 5 sec(1 km from explosion)in that time u are dead xD

u cant hear no sound cuse of no air...

    But explosions arent mute.

When the explosion happens there is loud sound wave and then silence.

    only theory.

    srry for bad english.

  • oh, there's no surrounding air around the explosion, so the gas from the explosion travells at much higher speeds, typically 3km/s+, and yes, the explosion wouldn't kill you when you are distant enough, so yes explosions can be heard in space, of course it will be very diffrent from the "boom" which we all know, it would be more like pshhhhhhbabi

  • i agree :P

i am bad at english so i cant say what i realy think in my head :P

  • OT: good vid! the music isn't that bad at all you ppl are just good in whining -_- make self a vid before u say something is really bad...i'm sure ur vid would suck...

  • epic fail

  • its is a crime COPY ROIGHT its gay all my vids are taken off

  • 0:48 learn to spell please.

same clip and same stupid explosion sound over and over again do not a good clip make.

    FAIL.

  • Taking scenes from movies or tv-shows and just adding other music to them should become a crime, punished with death!

  • Often times, yes. Occasionally, they are good.

  • Stfu before i kill you and feed you to your pooch sissy man

  • Yeah you tube is becoming filled with this uncreative shit that only was impressive to begin with years ago when the fact you made such a video showed you had an awesome computer with ungodly disc space.

  • Thas bullshit that someone would add StarWars music to BattleStar....

  • OH MY GOD SAVE US; IT'S STARWARS!

  • LOL

  • Comment removed

  • dude thats not hifus its from the season three episode exodus part 2 which was way better without ur stupid music for the simple reason theres no air in space ya cant hear explosions

  • it's made up my freind.just for fun

  • I agree

  • Actually, if a ship is presumably filled with air it would serve as a transmission medium resulting in a delayed and muffled explosion depending on one's distance.

Most Galactica battles featured the muffled explosion effect very nicely.

  • wow one that doesnt have music take up the whole battle

  • holy crap, I had no idea that Battlestar had such kickass special effects. I might start watching now

  • this was kind of stupid actually

  • i look 4 word to your effort

  • huh?

  • The music is from Dune, not Star Wars

  • Thats not Dune, my boy. you need to tune up your ear.

  • Music at the very start is definitly Dune - then blends into aliens - then obviously star wars & BG. :-)

  • star wars music doesnt match battlestar galactica... and 1:13 isnt any hifus but new caprica

  • in my world it is

  • what do u mean???

  • Corect me if im wrong but the music in the middle is from Star Wars , isnt it?

  • yes

  • Yeah, it is. Why use Star Wars music?

  • Title music is from Dune..I C wat u did thar

  • omfg you suck at making videos

  • yours are so cool.not

  • actually, it's not that bad at all. Just get rid of the text.

  • The music is from Aliens

  • and the title music from Dune.

  • whys there starwars music?

  • So, 3 cylon baseships and battlestar Pegasus were destroyed in this battle, am I right?

  • Right.

But some of the footage is from other episodes, dont be confused by that...

  • Yeah, I noticed that some parts were from other episodes, I just wasn`t certaiin how many baseships were destroyed.

BTW, do you know how many baseships are in cylon fleet? There have never been more than 4 at once attacking Galactica.

  • If they ever told us the exact number, they would just restrict themselves in storymaking.

btw, when they arrived at New Caprica, you could see 6 baseships at once.

  • Damn, I missed 2 then^^

I think cylons don`t even have so many baseships, cylons said that without hacking in colonial defense system there would probably be no victory. So I gues the don`t have more baseships than colonial defense fleet had before cylon attack. In season 1 at the time of attack they said, that 130 ships have already been lost, then Adama said, this is 1/3 of the entire fleet, that means, that colonial fleet was made of 390 ships. So cylons should have less than 390 baseships:(

  • I believe you got that wrong. If I recall correctly, it was stated that 30 Battlestars were 1/4 of the fleet.

  • Oh, shit, I should know that 130 battlestars is t great number to be 1/3 of fleet^^

But anyways, fleet was then made of 120 battlestars, that still means that there are probably 100 cylon baseships flying around somewhere.

  • 'Prepare'

  • wicked battle

  • I liked this except for the Aliens and Star Wars music rips and the fake explosions near the end. But, BSG SFX kick ass.

  • Even with a new, super light and super strong alloy, could you imagine how thick the hulls of a Battlestar would have to be to withstand that kind of punishment? Shit. Galactica and Pegasus have each taken nuclear detonations. Thick armor.

  • Nukes don't really do much in space. Their blast power is transmitted through an atmosphere and is very destructive, but in space only the radiation is transmitted, and against armor it wouldn't do much. Going near a sun for a microsecond would be the same as having a nuke detonate nearby. Kinetic energy rules space.

  • I dug the star wars music mixed in there..it went well with it.

  • obviously if the thing had been PLANNED then they probably would have sacrificed Galactica instead of Pegasus. but remember, Adama thought there were only 2 basestars at New Caprica and Lee was being a pussy as usual, so he wasn't even going to show up.

  • P.S. The intro music of Dune and subsequent use of music from Aliens and Phantom menace are a nice touch. Especially Dune, since it is rare in these times.

  • I agree that Pegasus was the superior ship. But the show is not called Battlestar Pegasus.

  • lol StarWars music? but its good ;-)

  • good effort

    good stuff i liked it

  • If i would be adm. Adama, i would sacrify Galactica, not Pegasus, couse Pegasus was way better than Galactica.

  • its was very sad wen Battlestar Pegasus blown up:(

  • the pegasus was never intended to stay for the rest of the series, it was only ever going to be there for a while, but personally, i can't think of a better way for a battlestar to go, fighting to the last, and taking with it atleast 2-3 of the enemy.

    RIP Pegasus

  • Anybody who actually attempts to draw a link between this recycling bin of shambolicly ripped up BSG clips and something that could every be good, clearly needs a screwdriver to through the knee. Seriously. Go string together the end of something crap and put that on loop, instead of shallowly misrepresenting BSG and displaying a total ignorance of that universe with your horrible tactless in-your-face editing. This doesn't tell any story, it's not intelligent, and it doesn't have any message.

  • call and chat 07789871708

  • And space battles are supposed to have stories and intelligent messages?

  • Are you for real? You can't possibly imagine a battle which doesn't have a gripping story, and is not laden with emotional revelations about life and death?

Vaguely labelling them space battles does not change the profound nature of the content, I am afraid. I find the idea of living in a 2D world such as yours apalling.

  • >You can't possibly imagine a battle which doesn't have a gripping story, and is not laden with emotional revelations about life and death?

You can't imagine anything else? Anyway, a battle wouldn't "have a gripping story"; it would fit into one. And I'm not saying that it can't have "emotional revelations", but it certainly isn't a requirement for it to be a good scene. Duh.

Also, what was the last space battle that you saw that had "emotional revelations", anyway?

  • >Vaguely labelling them space battles does not change the profound nature of the content, I am afraid.

Right. Because an X-Wing blowing up a TIE fighter is such deep philosophical insight. And who could forget the wrenching emotional subtext of a Starfury weaving through enemy fire?

    Uhh, no.

  • >I find the idea of living in a 2D world such as yours apalling.

I find the idea of living in your world, where you need to have the story told to you through space battles rather than, say, dialogue, more apalling. How much do you have to read into everything? You're like those pretentious art critics who look at a green and blue grid with yellow circles on it and start blathering on about its deep emotional subtext

It's a space battle. Things blow up other things. Get it?

  • but in order for a space battle to be interesting to watch, there needs to be a reaosn for the viewer to care. Random X-wing getting destroyed? Who cares. Random X-wing getting destroyed while part of a group trying to save a planet? Better. Luke Skywalker's childhood friend, Biggs Darklighter, getting blown up? NOW we gettin somewhere!

Last emotional space battle I saw? 'The Hub'

  • I know what you're talking about, but you don't get that from watching the battle. You get that effect from watching the rest of the movie, which sets up the battle. Expecting a battle to be a story is like expecting a chapter to be a book.

  • but what we're saying is that without the movie beforehand, without that emotional investment, all you have is a lot of empty special effects. If you just watched the space battle scenes from Exodus part 2, it would be extremely lame. The emotional connection is part of the active viewing process.

Now if you had produced the effects yourself, then it would be a different story. We could all ohh and aww at your prowess, and hope that someday you might become part of a larger creative process

  • but essentially what we have here is a lot of 'found' footage, thrown together in a rather slapdash manner. There's no real moment-to-moment continuity or logic to the battle.

  • me likes it very much your video (but I still prefer the old series from 1978)

  • I agree PEGASUS is much superior to the

GALACTICA!But theyre going by the original series some what. At least the PEGASUS went out in glory!

  • All crew from pegasus escaped in 4 reptors..? strange...

  • Skeleton crew, and Pegasus was largely automated.

There wouldn't even have been damage control teams, which is why the ship dies so fast. He left everyone behind except for the absolutely essential people.

  • Lee Adama pulled the most stupid maneuver in history with his ill-fated donut run during the New Caprica battle which eventuated in the demise of Pegasus. They should sacrificed Galactica not Peggy because Pegasus was ten-times better and could last a helluva lot longer in a fight.

Cain, Cavil, and Romo are the best characters on the show as well.

    Inter arma enim silent leges,

    ATMD

  • They can't just kill the Galactica though. Yes that'd have been the smart thing, but it wouldn't sit right in the show.

And I agree, Cain and Romo are awesome characters. Cavil is meh in comparison.

  • When he sacrifice pegasus, he couldnt do anything else, it was the 1 way,

  • I'll never understand people who mix musics of shows that have nothing to do. Star wars???

  • Why you added sounds from starfleet command? :/ They dont fit here

  • Yeh, I didn't quite understand the tactical thinking of sacrificing a whole battlestar especially one that could MAKE Vipers. Tactically it would have made more sense to sacrifice the Galactica, course that would have voided the point of the show ;p

It think the Captains needed to go back to school, learn how to fight with big ships all over

  • I dunno, Galactica, what with its precision jumps (cf. jump into upper atmosphere - deploy vipers - jump out) does actually seem to be the better of the two battlestars. Not on a direct combat level, but on a tactical one.

  • Pegasus can't do that?

  • The sacrifice of the Pegasus was a last minute call though. Initially both of the ships would have taken part but since Lee fought the rescue, Adama let him stay behind with the Pegasus and his crew.

It was his last minute call that saved the Galactica and ensured the survival of the people escaping New Caprica.

But I agree, the Pegasus could have easily held back and fired a salvo at each basestar from far away, though Galactica might have been destroyed.

  • Or maybe the show's writers could have had a ship other than the Pegasus get blown up. Or made the Pegasus even worse than the Galactica to begin with.

  • Hifus? It's the battle of New Caprica, you retard

  • no .the clips are for your own story line you choose what it is about..there are no rules.and there is no need to nasty

  • How does that work? You might as well make a Star Wars compilation video of battle scenes from the prequels and call it Battle for Endor.

The fact is that it's a TV show, and we saw what happened at Hifus and New Caprica, and we know that they aren't interchangable. Anyway, if we're supposed to make our "own story line", why bother specifying where it is at all? For that matter, what kind of a story line could possibly be built around a five-minute montage of ships blowing up?

    Retard.

  • :) Aww, c'mon, ya comma-frakkers(nitpickers), as long as the dude doesn't use "Chopsticks" or "Für Elise" as music accompaniment, he's fine by me.
