  • couldn't she just use the voice on all of those guys? or even one, to cause chaos.

why did you use the word quietus .. that's ans assamite word, from vampire.

  • Guys from the Westwood did outstanding work at Emperor Battle for Dune, the best plot in the entire Dune series.

Portrayal of Leto II The Tyrant(Emperor Worm), Bene Tlailax and Spacing Guild as the greatest evil is very accurate.

  • What's wrong with the Face Dancer? Sounds like he's out of breath or something. Look at the grin that Shafla makes at about 0:43 when Seelix says "serve".

  • Westwood's plot is brilliant. Spacing Guild and Bene Tleilax inded are the greatest evil in dune series. They were trying to bred a godly monster almost identical to another evil-Leto II Atreides called the Tyrant of the known universe and Worm(human -sandworm hybrid )

Leto the Tyrant, Spacing Guild and Tleilaxu are true totaltarian evil of Dune universe, far worse than Harkonnens.

  • I will never understand who won the previous game. Elara is alive, so that points to Ordos. We see the Ordos cutscene so that points to Ordos. But we see the failed Predecessor in both Harkonnen and Ordos so that points to Atreides. Atreides are on Arrakis, not Caladan so that points to Atreides. Who won?

  • @DarthRushy I would say Ordos. The Executrix aren't seen save for the eyes of one once, so it could still be the same guys who just changed. Only their mentat was replaced. The Baron was only seen from the back once, so it could be the same man, and the Duke was never seen, so it could be the same man. And as you say, the Ordos cutscene was shown and Elara was specifically said to have killed Corrino.

  • @Chemodam The Duke is NOT the same guy. His hand was WHITE and he was specifically called in Ordos and Harkonnen as LETO. On Rakan I agree(his hair was brown here) and the Executrix had only two face changes and their voice never changed. Some sort of early Executrix?

  • @DarthRushy Ah yes, I forgot about that. My mistake. Perhaps Leto died in the previous war and Achillus succeeded him?

  • @Chemodam How can a black guy be a white guy's son? Not racist. Still, I think that Dune 2000 and Emperor:Battle for Dune might be different realities.

  • @DarthRushy Nothing says he's necessarily his son. He could be a half-brother (Seems old enough), with the other parent being someone even darker. Or, as you say, it's an alternate reality deal.

  • @Chemodam Elara is defintely alive in the Emperor: Battle for DuneHarkonnen ending, she narrates the ending. Which means Harkonnens rescued Elara from Spacing Gulid and Bene Tleilax.

  • so, do you see your future my dear?

    I have no future!

*goes like: The fuck she actually knows it* PRECISLY!

I always imagined guild members like that^^

  • I think Face Dancers (as described by the novels) were a lot more human-like, although you'd still be able to pick them out if they weren't transformed. They were kinda short and ugly, with spiky white hair and apparently had some sort of unique smell that a Reverend Mother or somebody with similar abilities could detect.

  • It always seemed like a last minute addition, a few more cutscenes would have helped it appear like a more natural endgame scenario.

  • as far as I can see in the desert of Arrakis...

    there are always BALD guys

  • Are they sucking the water out of her?

  • the thing about prescient or foretelling is that simply it shows one important thing that really concerns the one who has the sight namely one's death.

  • There is wayyy to many bald people in this scene. I would have though that they would have cured baldness in the future.

  • The Spacing Guild's NIAB Tank was cool. Too bad their NIAB flyer cannot be built in multiplayer sessions.

  • face dancers can morph in their faces and voices quickly, but they weren't as fugly as that guy is in their default mode, instead they look like the blandest person imaginable as a starting template. im not too fussed though because these cutscenes can't be beat, and having the reverend mother morphing into your bank manager wouldn't be quite the same

  • lol you can really tell just from this little piece that Lady Elara is the only one played by the real actor...

  • Chinese movies are TERRIBLE. Pretty much all Asian movies are just samey martial arts flicks. Not to say Hollywood is any better, but give me a break jimmy

  • uhhhh no!!

have you ever saw EVRY SINGLE chinese movies and did you understand all of them

why did you even say that to me, because i am chinese

  • No, I said it as it's my opinion.

You think American movies are lame (which I can relate to), I'm saying I think all Chinese movies are terrible.

  • American movies used to be good, like titanic and saving private ryan

chinese people actually likes to watch american movies and always call it "big movies" but now American movies are just lame, there is no good actors and no good story, bunch of crappy remakes of old movies, and they are not good at all

i heard they are coming out a Dune remake in 2010, hope it will be good

  • No, the facedancers dont change like that. Its face would slowly restructure itself. Their bones are malleable, their skin shapable and stretchable, its chest would look odd as it has fleshy air bags just under the skin that can be infalted to simulate breasts. It would take time and be an ugly sight.

  • i hope they make the 2010 movie remake of dune like this these out takes are so good i cant stop watching them,

  • What movie remake? Nothing on IMDB as far as i can tell....

  • i was only going on rumours ive heard, but i am praying they make an epic four hour movie remake someday.

  • The Guild have the coolest units in this game I think but I have never understand what the Spacing Guild realey are.

  • Imagine there being an enormous company (like the Dutch East India Trading Company) that regulated and controlled all shipping in the world. Now imagine that that company has grown so large because everybody depends on it, that it's basically its own country, and has an enormous amount of control in the affairs of the rest of the world. Now, the Spacing Guild doesn't want to overtly control the entire universe, but they do want things to stay the way they are. Remaining in control indirectly.

  • okey thanks for the answer.

  • @smithdanger Funny. A scenario such as that is quite possible, IMHO. Chances are that something like that exists in the real world. Just saying.

  • @smithdanger Isn't that what happening to Earth now a days?

  • @smithdanger

Or perhaps the gas may somehow release the emperor worm from servitude from the control of both factions.

  • a bene gesserit being man[woman?]-handled by guild nubs ...

  • That should end into a problem to them. The Commander really shall be used to awake the Emperor Worm, in hopes to use Lady Elara to other purposes, but as he travel to the complete defeat of one house into another planet, the Guild have sensed than his Commander has left; they are forced to use Lady Elara to awake the Emperor Worm, obviously a change of plans. Understand me, this is a plot, which you can't believe. But you must know your true objective. ¡Rescue Lady Elara!

  • In the true history of that game, the Commander (should be you) is also saturated with the Water of Life. He can be used as same as Lady Elara, but, the Commander uses it as to increase their military habilities. You must know than the Commander select one of the great houses, and is trained with then by much time. First, it's a Guild Commander. The intentions of the Spacing Guild were really to distract a house and then it must return to his true leaders, but he goes to an enemy homeworld.

  • In these games, I completely forgot about the Tleilaxu Face Dancers.

  • Theory, Someone Answer this: What if The Ordos Used (Needless to say, A lot of) Deviator Gas on this thing. What would Happen? Does Deviator Gas affect Spice?

  • Interesting idea. They've never mentioned a connection between the Deviator Gas and the Spice. The Emperor Worm is a strange dichotomy in that it has far reaching psychic powers (and presumably extremely intelligent or at least capable of it) and yet it is also completely subservient to the Tlielaxu and the Spacing Guild. Since it is subservient to at least someone, I'd imagine that it probably could be affected, if not by the Gas then at least more potent version of it.

  • why do the tlielaxu face dancers look like fucking trolls, aren't they supposed to have a elfin appearance

  • I don't know; why have they created an Emperor Worm? It's a plot. For what kill a worm to make another? Fuck you, Spacing Guild

  • I agree. Not to sound like the complete nerd that I am, but if the Spacing Guild wanted this kind of power in the first place, they should just stop all traffic, use their insane amounts of cash to put refineries all across Arrakis, and take their place as the ultimate rulers.

  • You'd think the Tleilaxu'd have learned after Amal, that Spice, Tleilaxu, and Power Grabs don't mix, no pun intended. As for the guild theory, I agree with you entirely.

  • The Spacing Guild is trying to make a Man-Worm, like Leto II Atreides, the "Emperor Worm". He ruled the universe with an iron fist and subtly controlled the evolution of Humanity. Their effort seems to be the work of fanatics who may not know what the final result of their actions would be. The Emperor Worm would rule the universe and would be unstoppable. Perhaps they think that if they are its eminence-gris, they would gain subtle influence in the new order that will come. They would be wrong.

  • I have installed the patch and the game will install, except it stays on the EA logo, sometimes the Westwood logo appears after it, but then it hangs. I have no idea what kind of solution i need, anyone, any idea?!

Maybe something to do with service packs for windows i heard.

    regards,

    Keimpe

  • nice vid... brings back memories, thanks for posting :D

  • God damn... that evil guy for the guild is quite possibly the best evil actor I have ever seen... he's enjoying the moment so damned much!

  • @LionTroy True, Shafla, leader of the Spacing Guild i sthe most evil villain in Dune, just after Leto II the Tyrant Worm. Shafla's actor is Mark Bringelson.

  • what's the purpose of the emperor worm?

  • This is just a guess here, but I think he (she?) has mental control of the sandworms. If anyone were to control the Sandworms they'd have a complete monopoly over spice production. When you control the spice, you control the universe. The Tlielax are effectively creating a Master Sandworm which is genetically loyal to both themselves and the Spacing Guild. Once it wakes up, the Spacing Guild could control any planet under threat of Withdrawal.

  • it depens on what u base this.. u know the Tlielaxue are juste one of the 2 houses fighting for the technology power ( the other one was IX from which muad'dib's mother comes from ( Lady Jessica) the tlielax do not have such power but some bene gesserit member does.. oh and btw. there wil be a human sandworm he will be named leto atreides from house atreides

  • Jessica did not come from Ix. Just a normalish human, daughter of Harkonnen and Bene Gesserit.

Leto II isn't quite the same as the Emperor worm. Different mindset.

  • Jessica is not from Ix, by the way.

  • the main purpose is that spice comes from worm and is protected by worms. if u can create an emperor worm which u know is on your side than you can collect as much spice as you want .. spice is the power you know

  • Thanks all. Hey, this plot sounds not too bad for a game. I wonder if it was the developers who invented the empire worm ;) . However I don't see how they want to control the worm. Even though there is "conditioning" in the dune universe they seem to willingly kneel down before the worm as guild agents they implies several times and at video in case the player loses the last mission.

  • Actually in the last Dune books the Atreides emperor had turned into a worm. In the books using the spice to gain immortality changes the users body until after millenia he practically is a worm.

  • Actually Leto II willingly merges with the Sandtrout and slowly over his 3500 year reign as the god emperor changes into a human-worm hybrid.. it's a lot less cheesey than it sounds, but dune's story as it is does not really lend itself to a game, but nice nod to it anyway.

  • Problem with that line of thought. The Guild ambassador goes: "WE WILL ALL DIE! BUT THE EMPEROR WORM WILL LIVE! BAAAHAHAHAHAHA!" Okay, so he didn't cackle, but you get the point. No power for anyone.

Besides, it's ridiculous even if it was true. The Emperor Worm on your side... What is it going to do? You have to jump through A LOT of hoops to explain it.

  • eeevuul :D

  • face dancers doing their thing

  • Creepy thing!
