  • horribleeee

  • Bruce inspired Joe, thats why they respected each other so much. Both sing/sang with passion.

  • vergüenza de versión

  • not as good as the clash tho

  • algo fuera de serie mi grupo favorito interpretado ahora mismo por el mejor

  • The song says "I live by the river" any Springsteen fan would know why he chose it.

  • how to murder a classic record in one easy lesson,

  • @HigherPoker Well said, well quoted

  • strummer actually was trying to compete with bruce in the early 80's joe wanted to be like bruce in the states and had a huge respect for him thats why bruce likes to cover strummers music.

  • An Old Punk Rocker?

  • soddin great bruce ..

  • @40recently agreed. If you guys weren't aware, people take signs of songs they want to hear and about half way through the show, Bruce starts picking them. It takes a pretty talented band to do this, unrehearsed with their own songs ....Bruce and the band are doing it with OTHER songs! Crazy!

  • The Clash = Epic

    Bruce Springsteen = Epic

Bruce singing The Clash = FUCKING EPIC!!!!!!!!!

  • who's the dick with the thing on his head?

  • live performances are so much better than the studio versions!

    i hate playback.

  • Great band, & was a great place to see a live Bruce show!

  • so very fucking awesome that i think my heart will burst with happiness.

  • Springsteen is a legend! This one and the winedarksea version are my favourite covers.

  • @alynmearns Jack Johnson is better than Bruce

  • you guys need to realize they had never ever played this song before live... the sign said "did it stump E street"

  • "Bruce Springsteen is a great Musician. But I don´t have to like him. Thats the greatest thing ever". - Me.

  • Love Bruce, Love The Clash but the musical styles just dont cross over. This is truly a terrible cover and I hope that he nor the E Street band any longer attempt this. They're all top musicians, One if not more of them must have realised how bad this sounds, I mean can you imagine the Clash covering Tenth Avenue Freeze Out?, Just wouldnt work now would it.

  • The rythm in this version is not as interesting as the original. The Clash's LC version was swinging, this interpretation is more stomping. I prefer the original.

  • Never heard anyone sing so bad, if you can call that singing

  • 16 ppl just dont get it...we miss u joe!

  • Bruce is probably the only yankee who can do this song properly, well done.

  • ur big horrible logo ruins the video.

  • Love the Boss, Love the Clash, enough said

  • i like the clash i like bruce and i like london calling!!

  • Jesus wept !

  • Sr Springsteen:

  • I miss Joe Strummer (John Mellor, he was the punkrockwarlord RIP. Tomas from Sweden

  • thats cool Bruce is a Clash fan..heres the real Maverick

  • the boss a pure rebel like joe maun!!!

  • A W E S O M E !!!!!

  • Man, that must have been great. People forget what a revoutionary artist Springsteen was (and is). Nebraska was a great punk album. Tell you what, if he was to play London again and play this, the whole planet would explode with the sound of fans going utterly mental. :)

  • My favorite artist for ever and ever! <3BRUCE<3

  • haunting song. love the clash

  • depressing strummer is dead

  • Take it as a compliment Joe. RIP

  • shame Ill never see Bruce or the clash ~! liver then this ~! Great Cover ~~! and people ,,,preach peace ~not violence ~!

  • yaaaaaaaaaaaay little steven! (and bruce springsteen, of course, but, err, anyway)

brilliant song-but prefer the Clash performing it.

  • Know what?

You're an nattering slobberdonkey you myopic little ass hat.

Were you not braying like the sophomoric, little turd you are you *might* realize that what you're witnessing is damn tribute of one amazing artist to another.

By the way, are you even capable of walking without the use of you knuckles?

  • lost his enthusiasm?

  • lost his enthusiasm? r u serious? what has he been steadily doing for the past 2 years that not many 60 year olds are. hmmm. extensively touring. yeah ur rite he has lost his enthusiasm. give me a fuckin break. he puts so much energy into every show. and he plays requests as this was a fan request. no other band could just play any random song as good as they do. thats why the e street band is the best.

  • Because he was a Clash fan and the Clash became fans of his; especially Mick Jones and Joe Strummer. Read a book.

  • he even had his leg 'doin a strummer' at one point. Great!

  • the best song Strummer!!! the best song The Clash!!! good cover, but no is The Clash

  • @vinncen Time to take an ESL class there, Vin

  • Sung with true love for Joe. And better than the mess at the Rock N Roll HOF show.

  • Best LC cover! But that telecaster needs to be changed for a lespaul

  • @bloddyslayer

Joe played it on a Telecaster, Bruce can too.

  • People told true: Tha fuckin' BOSS

    Love the Clash

    That's a great cover

  • Too bad i missed this one, it was my birthday too. I like his expression when he holds up that card!

  • The CLASH...at number 1 in my rocker heart, forever!!! Thanks Bruce!!

  • Sorry, Patti, acoustic guitars should not even be allowed near the stage for this song -- grab one of Bruce's spares, turn it up to 11, and whale away.

  • was good but slow for my taste hehe would be cool if he screamed "aaaha aaah aa aoooooooooooo"

  • Bruce is a fan, as well as a great artist. He loves good music, and London Calling is a great song. If the E st band wasn't the "world's greatest r and r band", they would be a great cover band. Each of them is an all star in his own right.

  • The best London Calling cover ever! Amazing Bruce you rock!

  • Yes!!!!

  • e vaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!che bello!!!!

  • Bruce is a great musician who respects a lot other musicians like Joe Strummer..........

  • All of Bruce's versions of this have been wonderful.

It's ok that Bruce supported Barack. So did I; so did lots of people. It's not our fault that Barack is like NJ Transit. When the 11PM bus doesn't pull in until 11:10 or leave until 11:20, I tell the baffled on line, "It's a Barack bus...fails to perform as promised." That cannot be said of Bruce, who may be one of the finest ever to emerge from NJ. HE consistently EXCEEDS expectations.

  • great cover but i think the bass is too quiet...

    except of that it's amazing.

  • A complete failure? Please.

Woody Gurthrie was a REAL American, unlike Ronald Reagan the chickenhawk traitor and coward, just like every other Can'tservative that has failed us.

  • That was really quite awful. Sorry Bruce, Joe Strummer you ain't

  • great!

  • That was the best show ive ever seen..

  • Joe Strummer live forever !!! Thank you Bruce for this cover.

  • im like a clash addict, and i expected this to be awful (not that i dont like bruce he jus doesnt seem punk) but this is actually good!

  • he sang this well and i like some of the clash nd thought it wouldnt be good i didnt see it on youtube but went to hyde park and he started with it wat a brilliant song and clash did it well :d thanks for posting

  • The only thing we can say is "great"! 60 years and he is better than me that i'm 28!!! I saw him yesterday in Udine (Italy) what a wonderful singer and guitar hero!!!

  • Isn't that quite logical that he should be better than you when he has got more experience?

  • lo siento, tío, cantas de cine, eres un geneio, pero no eres Strummer

  • i love both of these bands (the Clash and Springsteen) but hes not the right got to sing this song but it was very good

  • I was there and it was he best show i've ever seen. COME BACK BRUCE!!!!

  • Erm... how 'bout no.

  • i agree with the comment below, i was also at hyde park and he played this- better than this version. Most people like to just be able to stand at 60 yrs old -not performing concerts day in day out

  • The guy is amazing. Just saw his concert yesterday in London's Hyde Park and was left breathless. He certainly knows how to arouse the crowd. He is nearly 60 but I swear for my life that with his energy and enthusiasm he cuts above many younger artists. He just rocks!!!

  • Bruce is not Joe Strummer, but he is wonderful, what a great artist.....

  • "Bruce is great. A world of talent. Me? I love Springsteen." - Joe Strummer

  • Bruce and London Calling: Can it get any more fucking amazing???

  • yeh it can the clas and london calling

this isnt shit, but it lacks the edge of strummer

  • I was talking about modern times. Since Strummer is dead, it can't get better.

  • Have the dvd LOVE IT!

  • Comment removed

  • bestial bruceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • My Punk side has just just been..... well..... Rocked inside!

  • is he dead?

  • no, he's still making albums

  • Bruce is amazing but the original is better.

  • U can get this ringtone anywhere!

Unless it the actual concert...and I dont see that working

  • Comment removed

  • I was there---glad you weren't standing next to me. :-) Seriously though, it kicked ass.

  • BRUUUUUUUUCE!

Even better than The Clash. Gotta love Miami Steve too though. One more week and I'll be seeing Bruce and the Band in Holland

  • Comment removed

  • No way better than the orignal, but great n its own right

was also better at Hyde Park yesterday where it really meant something to the crowd.

And Nils Lofgren is the guitar genius in the ESB Van Zandt couldln hold a candle to him

  • YES, NILS LOFGREN IS INCREDIBLE. hyde park was amazing, vids on my channel

  • i really like Bruce's version. Best version of this song. I was here and i didn't know it but it was really good.

  • tecagas!!

  • sticazzi!

  • clash version better the real deal

  • Long live Joe Strummer and long live Bruce!

  • would like to see them do On The Darkside, the old Eddie and the Cruisers song. Cafferty kind of sounded like Bruce on that one.

  • Love the original recording. Love Bruce. Not sure this worked though...

Going to search for the recording of 'I wanna Be Sedated' he performed in LA(?)

  • GREAT VERSION

    LONG LIVE THE BOSS

  • Awesome, thanks for posting! The WHOLE song, yes!

Too bad Strummer never made it clear it was "never felt so much like...singing the blues" (Palladium '79 he did).

    great cover.

  • A mid-set cover of one of the greatest Clash recordings. Who else these days could do it justice? And who else would even bother? Rock on, Bruce.

  • awesome song. i was hoping for this in austin and houston. bruce and strummer the best.

  • Can you believe this man is almost 60 years old??? :D THE BOSS YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!

  • If anyone is going to see him in London later this year, please bring a sign requesting The Who's Baba O'Reilley.

  • love how he plays like strummer on the solo. brilliant.

  • nah, he plays like mick jones. strummer couldn't play lead, the clue is in the name

  • Sorry Bruce but think you should stick with Tenth Avenue Freezeout.

  • i know it's blasphemy to bash bruce but this is horrific. sad actually.

  • still hoping the Boss will be in the Spectrum September 30

  • Doubt it. You can always go see him in Hershey in a few months...

  • another great cover by The boss.

  • obama taught him to look at that!!

  • Thank God Bruce has the teleprompter built in the stage so he could pull this off. He never takes his eyes off of it.

  • Does the teleprompter tell him how to play the guitar chords?

  • it has to have the words atleast he keeps looking down but the chords are pretty easy to learn im sure he knows how to play it

  • Think about how long it was till he played it here. I think he needed it since it's been a while.

  • What on earth are you talking about...this was the first time ever the entire E Street band ever played this song. He played again after this show and it sucked over in the UK..he couldn't even sing he had to let Steve take the majority of the vocal performance his voice was just torn and worn out from touring.

Tho a little break and 4 more shows at the Spectrum in Philly and they were undeniably the best shows since the Reunion Tour! Better than Giant Stadium,Izod Center in N. NJ and New York!

  • Hot song.

  • what a performance, can we have this at Hyde Park please??? Brilliant..

  • Thanks Boss. I live by the River. Mauri Clash City Rocker.

  • i loved this consert!!!! i love you

  • It'd be real cool if Mick Jones and Bruce did this in London later in the year.

  • Saw me and my friend & boyfriend in the front on this one!! Cool!!!

  • amazing!

  • yes it is !

  • nice one bruce, think joe would approve!

  • i would love to see him do the pixies' wave of mutilation

  • "..and I live by the river.."..Bruce doing the Clash. Awesome!!

  • just another grand copy^^ but great though

  • Wow- unbelievable! Lucky people at the show; lucky us now for being able to see it online. Thanks for posting!

  • Awesome!

The Boss looks like Joe Strummer here :o)

  • Boss, London Is Calling You!

What a highlight! In my dreams, I was at that concert in Philadelphia..

    Great Bruce, Great!

  • Is he still married to Patty Scialfa?

  • Yes

  • i was just there it was awesome. i had so much fun

  • Old news man...

  • Sick!!! one of the highlights of the night for sure

  • Awesome! BTW.. what did he throw in the pit in the beginning?

  • that was the paper that said "did it stump E Street???" I was there great show

  • He tore up the paper request and threw it in there.

  • great show last night!

    Thanks for the great video!

  • that was an awesome concert...

  • this was incredible last night. plus, kitty's back. great show.

  • In Bruce We Trust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
