Hilarious to note how 'the temp' is shot throughout the episode. Obviously taller than Dagless, he's often filmed from only the neck up in an attempt to even their height. Awesomely petty. Also, great 80s action montage with the jammin' synth riff.

rubbish. they didnt even edit it properly! i wanted to watch some british horror and i got this shit. c'mon england, at least try to produce a good show for once, like us Americans. fail.
@jechichi Gee, your giving a good name to Americans. Its supposed to be bad, and if your stupid enough not to realise that from the start, please, do everyone a favor and kill yourself.
@jechichi Americans don't typically say 'rubbish.' Nice try, though. Anyway, nothing is better than Dagless doing a front flip to escape an exploding ambulance while holding a newborn infant. This show really is the best thing that ever happened.
we ere watching horror movies in basic school in social studies lessons, because they didn´t know what to teach us, so I REALLY NEEDED to see this to cure my traumas :-)!!!
Swafferjohn Im also in mourning from the loss of the channel 4 logo. Amongst television numbers past, I also miss the 4 from Sesame Street (the green one), the 2 from Blackadder 2 (in roman numerals) and also the number 1 from the year 2001 on the end credits of neighbours. Gone but not forgotten.
@SultanChase yeaah but on DVD extras it's explained that most of the Darkplace film reels sunk in the Thames when police raded Learner's house and he had to get rid of some unspecified things quickly....
You know the absolute best part of watching this is getting to once again bear witness to the old friendly and reassuring red, blue, green, yellow and purple channel 4 logo - oh how i miss you my love R.I.P.
Yes but only recently since the rights to air the episodes have been bought by Cartoon Network's affiliate Adult Swim. The first time I saw the show was maybe a year ago at about 4 in the morning. We're slowly finding hilarious British comedy that was written in the 90's.
Yes. My hat's off to the Brits. The comedies from across the pond are amazing, and Darkplace is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen, right up there with the Peep Show.

Also I hate Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. They all have a similar British style of comedy. Not all of popular British comedy is great, yet Darkplace is one of my favorite shows ever.
totally- i was watching the dvd with the commentary over the top of the episodes yesterday when my brother came in and i attempted to explain the layers (really badly). then my mum came in and said what's this? - at which point i just said, 'umm, it's a funny programme, now 'GET LOST!' ;)
this episode reminds me of the time i was washing a car and i whistled a tune that was in the charts at the time and then when i switched on the radio a tune that ws pretty similiar but not exactly the same came on.
the car was a morris marina (sunset red) 1.4 litre engine, nothing special but it started first time, EVERYTIME.
yes random, nothing more just part of the delicate waltz we all take when we move our way through life and space and time.
one day your washing a car and having funny little almost coincidences the next your standing up from the toilet wondering if you can see blood in your faeces.
(Picks up phone) Uh-huh. Bye! (puts phone down) Good gravy! A small bunch of objects are flying of their own accord in E Wing. (Picks up phone, then puts it down immediately) And apparently more objects are heading this way! (looks at phone, stuttering) Good...bye.
the funniest is garth's crying at the end. I only wish it went on longer. Same in episode 3 after he's killed skipper the eyechild! This series should be continued as there were at least 40 episodes made!
