Thankfully, nobody was hurt [except maybe the rabbit :-( ], though the batteries were knocked clean out of my camera and music player! I'm surprised that the video looks like we regained control after hitting (or nearly hitting) it, because in reality it took a few seconds to fully regain control!
Luckily, it was a rabbit and not a free-range cattle and we didn't wreck, because who knows how long it'd take before another car would pass by out there!
oh man...i was out by area 51 summer befor last driving aroud we must of seen 1,000 rabbits over an hour span. crossing the roads. it was crzy...we eventually hit one.. ;(
This happened to us all along Highway 6 driving at night. Jackrabbit, coyote, mice, a skunk (missed!) and ... an elk.
Naturally, we missed that too otherwise I wouldn't be typing this.
I guess the lights and noise scare them into a reflex dive across the road.

OMG ...
Did anybody get hurt ?
I respect animals, but if that would happen to me, I would rather hit the rabbit instead of crashing my car ...
