  • io c'ero

  • she is beautiful!

  • god fucking damnit, i wish i was around then and old enough to have experienced this. im 16, and wish SO much i couldve experience all of this music. makes me sad. fuck pop culture.

  • @NewVegasGnar It's a crazy world indeed, I was 20 when I was there in Berlin, 1990 thinking exactly the same as you do ! Don't be sad, just take up a guitar, look for some friends and start your on your own all over again ... just do it, good luck

  • the whole show is excellent and the guitarist's are very good, of course it's not gilmour but that doesn't mean they can't play

  • I was there

  • ma balls

  • mother should i trust the government , no fucking way !!

  • I like the whole show. The end!

  • Snowy White!!!

  • This song will be playede in heaven all the time

  • i think it would have been sick to be part of the crew. you get to listen to an awesome performance while building up the wall

  • lol, that chick is still runnin around.

i'd do her. 30 years ago *SNAP*

  • Chills, the whole time.

  • sorry who's the girl singing Mother? I'm so totally out of my league here.

  • @Silk7301 it's Sinéad O'Connor

  • This is the best thing in the whole universe.

  • I was living in Germany from 1987-1992 in the Army. I was in Berlin Brigade when the was came down. I was also there on the 21st of July at this concert. What an amazing night this was! It was a jubilant atmosphere with people from all over the world!

  • That guy looks like Barry Morgan from Organ World.

  • seasick steve with the red sox hat haha

  • Who is wearing the Red Sox hat?

  • @bostonez I believe it's Levon Helm from The Band. I've never seen him with that much facial hair, though.

    He looks like Kris Kristofferson.

  • And oh yeah - Cindy Lauper looks better in a schoolboy uniform that Angus Young ever did. So there.

  • Cripes, all you complainers need to get a grip. OF COURSE it doesn't sound like 70's Floyd! That's because it isn't. It's Roger Waters and the best of the best of that time performing The Wall in a profound place at a profound time in history.

This show was/is effing epic. It captured both the ecstatic joy of a newly reunited Germany, and all the angst and turmoil of 45 years of oppression.

Cindy Lauper is great here, Roger Waters wouldn't have requested her otherwise

  • Cindy had no business being part of this concert, c'om !

This is simply a classic that every music/rock n roll fan should own !!

  • get the hell out of there cindy lauper...

  • Every day sunds better than the day before

  • Sinead is soooo hot!!!!!

  • When I was young and I first saw this, I never understood the epicness of the schoolmaster with a keytar, now I do

  • @KubaNZM91

That guy deserved more than just the few seconds of solo time.

  • @ROFLmao35216 yeah he did

  • was hoping roger would of sang mother!! Didn't like the chick and 2 dudes on that sorry roger still a great song you fkin rock man just saw him in United center woohooo performing the wall

  • Mother, should I trust the government? @ 4:55 ... He knows...

  • that schoolmaster on the piano/guitar is fuckin EPIC

  • the pianist banged the student that night

  • love the song but i think she ruined it she sounded pretty bad everything else was awsome

  • sinead o'connor! She isn't Pink Floyd, but I respect her!

  • wow..that keyboard player is amazing

    SCHOOL MASTER PWNED!

  • Great SNOWY WHITE now comes the second THE WALL with this amazing guitarist !!!

  • i jizzed my pants when the keytarist walked onstage. :D

  • sinead looks sad every time she stops singing

  • roger should sing mother

  • I'm so happy that Levon, Garth and of course Rick all helped in the performance. The only thing missing is Jerry, Bobby and Phil.

  • Where are the rest of Pink Floyd? And why aren't Roger singing?

  • fuck cyndi, get off the stage!

  • Roger was Floyd

  • Art is a move on the soul, that inicates a tour to freedom. This is what this concert was. And this is what Floyd's music makes. These guys where artists, not rockers.

  • Epic keytar solo.

  • Has to be one of the best top-notch live performances of the era.To assemble the amount talent, the choreography, musical score and scale of it all is simply amazing. We'll never see anything again on this scale in live music.

  • I didn't read all the comments but in case you didn't know, during the live performance, her mike gave out almost immediately. She was really pissed off and danced around like Rumpelstiltskin for a while before leaving the stage. What you're seeing was the rehearsal footage. I think it would have been a great performance.

  • i really like it better when its just roger waters. i mean id like it better if it were all of pink floyd, but thats obviously not really an option... anyways i really hope itll be just him in december when i go see him... :/

  • I just got my tickets to see the wall in Vegas, should be insane. Thanks for loading this.

  • Got my ticket for Berlin 15.06.2011!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "I love this song, but I prefer the not-live-music for me, more, then other..."

    Hesekiel

  • I DIG THIS TUNE.

  • I got a golden vip ticket for the wall june 7th in zurich, yeeeesssss

  • got my ticket for live in arizona!

400 dollars! ahhhhh so worth it

  • Live in Holland, april 2011, got a field ticket yeeeaahhhhh!!!!

  • yea sox fan in berlin!!! and im so excited i get to see this show in october in boston!! awesome

  • Cyndi Lauper got something in her ass that is irritating her that's whyshe is jumping like crazy bitch

  • i cant wait for the wall live 2010 - 2011 i hope it will sound like 70s pink floyd and roger waters better not add any annoying voices i just want roger waters on bass and vocals! please convince david gilmour to join the tour!!! no one plays the guitar better than him!

  • 2:00 WHAT THE FUCK :| hahahahha

  • @Mante53 Thomas Dolby! The best talent out there!

  • Can't wait to see the tour dates for the 2010-11 tour! Now if only David could tour again....

  • Hammond organ !!!!!!! Bass + Hammond. Nothing else !

  • and rick...and levon! whoa

  • holy shit i can't believe that it's garth????

  • Great stuff....thx...;-)

  • too bad its just roger. it'd be better if david, richard, and nick were there. that lady gets annoying as well.

  • @TmasterREY Pink Floyd were not together these years so it was THIS or nothing. Take ur pick. I thought Roger did an amazing job here (if the Pink Floyd crybabies can get over the fact that David Gilmour and co were not part of it) :) The guys who played guitar were solid and Sinead knocked Mother out of the park imo. Some misses sure. Joni Mitchell was horrible and Van Morrison wasn't much better. Still this was the berlin wall! after the fall of the iron curtain! The visual rocked Bravo!!!

  • @aitraining Actually David Gilmour and company were asked to join Roger, but they all declined

  • An accordion? Really Roger?

  • Great concert.. Although if it were me playing guitar I would have to break it of cindy laupers head. . . then have sex with her.... then wash myself.... then make it back on stage for side 2!!!

  • is this snowy white?

    he still plays with roger!

    haha amazing!

  • yes it is snowy

  • i ust didnt like this cause it had soo many guest singers

  • 1:59 - school master win!

  • @KolokoSDK If you're not careful He'll Blind You With Science.

  • @KolokoSDK & school master win

I could be wrong - I have been before (But don't let my girlfriend know I said that)

but I believe that's Thomas Dolby in that role

  • Love the keyboardists :)

  • a litlle girl, barefoot, and 100 of thousands of people...

  • I love you sinead!!!! U ROCK!!!

    that mesmerizing eyes...... damn.....

  • mother Mother, do you think they'll drop the bomb? Mother, do you think they'll like this song? Mother, do you think they'll try to break my balls? Ooh ah, Mother, should I build the wall? Mother...

  • Comment removed

  • R.I.P Peter Wood.

    The wonderful keyboardist

  • wasnt a big fan of sinaed.. but she did an awesome job with this. and bringing out the emotion of the song..she looks so sad while singing..

  • i think we need to embrace this concert for what it was, i mean we cant expect to everytime the wall performs it sounds like 70's floyd, ok not the same without the other guys but there still roger and his songs are there too.

i wouldn't expect "on an island" sounds like roger plays in it.

i heard roger will tour the wall on 2010-2011 and i wouldnt expect it sounds like 70's floyd.

  • Snowy's alright, but doesn't have ....that....feel...compared to everybody's know who....

Indeed, agree...waters made this classic masterpiece a total circus of it...full of popular musicians. Fucking hideous 80's keyboards sound, and fucked up comfortably numb

  • ok sinead i know who are the other guys singing

  • They are members of a group called "The Band". I'm sure you may have heard of them. I thought it was a good choice for roger

  • Wrong! Do it again!

If you don't eat your meat you can't have any pudding.

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

You! Yes you behind the bikeshed.

    Stand still laddie!

  • 2:00 Most sinister thing I've ever seen! A teacher playing a piano guitar in this song!

  • That is the one and only Thomas Dolby...

  • where can i get this on cd???

  • It's on the Roger Waters Wall Live in Berlin Double CD. When it first came out I had to get it. The album has white bricks just like the Pink Floyd album.

  • You should find at any music or discount store. The album's called The Wall (1979) and is very famous, there shouldn't be trouble finding it.

  • im not saying about the original one!!

    i mean this concert!!

is really cool these are better versions than the original ones!!

  • I love this song.

  • Sinead's performance here is actually from the night before during the full dress rehearsal. They taped it in case something happened. Sinead did not return for the concert.

  • I heard that and I own the DVD but what did they do the night of the actual concert during mother? It's too bad because Sinead was wonderful here. One of the better moments I thought.

  • I think Sinead did great. I think I read that they just skipped over that part for the live broadcast. We own the DVD and I love it. I probably watch it 3 times at least a month. Not just good music but great theatrics

  • I mark out to Thomas Dolby 1:58 every time I see this! Awesome.

  • Who is the one singing? She has a beautiful voice.

  • Sinead O'connor. Yes - she was terrific.

  • Sinead O'Connor....

  • And Cindy Lauper is still on the stage...

  • it's ironic. the mother's part is sung by the men. the child's part is sung by the woman.

  • sinnead made it sound good but its just kinda weird having a woman say "break my balls" lol

  • The balls are toy balls, not testicles.

  • does it matter? the point and emphasis remain either way.

  • Toy balls, not testicles

  • This is a bloody poor choice having Sinead sing to what is basically a male oriented lament on the weirdness and frailty of motherhood. Too radically inspired for my taste, smacks of A Level students trying to impress their peers. Its a song coming from a man's perspective, why change that?

  • Clever articulate chap are you?

Wow, that riposte of you sent me reeling!

  • @1920VictorianGent Originally, the mother's part was sung by David Gilmour, it has been sung by women, and now it's sung by women and men together. I think one of the most important things in music, is how it sounds. Sinead is amazing; her voice is perfect for the tessitura of this song. If you put "the wall berlin" in Youtube's search box and hit enter, the top result is Mother (based on how many people view/like the videos). I think that shows how great the choice was.

    I love the whole song.

  • @1920VictorianGent

    Sinead O'Connor is a woman?

  • @1920VictorianGent appears the world was still in the throws of a hangover from what was the 80's. still waiting for the nausea to go even today...

  • @1920VictorianGent but she did great job! and every1 preffers her version than slow weak singing on album!

  • @1920VictorianGent Yeah, your going to a concert to hear pink floyd sing an awesome album but u hear other ppl singing variatons.

  • @1920VictorianGent are you an idiot? Who cares if it's a male or female singing it. It's just as beautiful. She's the only other person i can possibly imagine singing this song!!!

  • I see some ignorant comments in here and in other parts of this video. I understand in a way, some of you may have been born after the Pink Floyd/Berlin Wall era, or maybe you were too young at that time. However, before making silly comments, you may want to do some researches and find out who is whom in the concert, and MOSTLY what this concert was about and what the album The Wall was about. Without that information, watching this video is almost a waste of time for you.

  • oh ive done my research, and i was born in 94

  • Sinead was great here.

  • Ha! I love the school teacher on the keytar

  • That is Thomas Dolby.

  • now is the only state of life and you are now life as it is now fucking wake up

  • Trying to not think is too hard. They should just make a drug that stops you from thinking. Then we could all join Eckhart in "the now."

  • Why does Cindi Lauper have to exist?

    Btw Mother was lovely

  • OMG KEYTAR

  • Sinbad O Conner is just perfect in mother .. she has a really great voice

And just the setup in that song is so great

  • Sinead doesn`t poop! Her voice is alien. This is not her at her best but still, awesome. She is an awesome person.

  • I agree. Sinead knocked it out here and I love the accordian too. Nice stuff. Great show. and how awesome was Dolby (too short) at 1:59!

  • is a very and of corse que es cindy loper

  • Who is this Lady??

  • Sinbad O Conner

  • A GREAT concert, the music is outstanding! Of course, any Floydian fan would rather Gilmour and the boys have done this. (there hasn't been a concert of the Wall live on DVD, to my knowledge)

Waters and the other musicians really ROCKED.

OH, does anyone else here think that guy playing the black acoustic in 'Mother' looks like John Stewart!? LOL

  • Hey Roger would have used gilmour, wright, mason in this if he couldnt get the guest stars

  • haha WTF @ 1:59

  • thats like the greatest synth solo in history.....tom dolby is the uber-ass kicker!!!! he is my hero

  • Yeah - Thomas Dolby was great here!

  • Wow... there is something seriously wrong with the way this concert looks... Sounds pretty sweet but holy fuck... Angry stripper, angus young lookalike with a keyboard/guitar. Crazy shit... And not the best in history thats for damn sure...

  • you need to first ask questions about who the musicians are. That angry stripper is not a stripper at all. That's Cindi Lauper.

  • what is the best concert

  • great concert best ever in history !

  • You aren't kidding, especially if you were there, which I was, and I met my wife there as well. I was also fairly close to the front. One of the best days of my life.

  • Snowy White plays way better then the first guy, with more feeling.

  • DOLBY!
