  • If anyone is looking for the midi files of numans songs, I've uplloaded a video with loads of the files in the description. They inclued Aircrash bureau, we are glass, a game called echo and many more

  • Telekon is by far the best album Gary mastered. every single song, superb. Never again will we see the likes of Gary/ Foxx/and many others from their era, developing music over the years, just total mindless rap and r nb shite is all we got to look forward to. Thanks so much Cowell.

  • Pure genius and a massive inspiration to my albums....a 'God' amongst men.

  • Years ahead of his time, like it or not!

  • @mancreject Indeed my friend, I grow very tired of comments regarding this man. I do not understand the UK comments? You guys are brutal. Gary is old as me, leave the man alone, damn? I own said Telekon on vinyl, 1 of my most treasured possessions? I often wonder what happened to the original version of "I die you die"?, meaning the violent guitar thing at the end?

  • @superunt43 I agree with you. I have this album on vinyl and i think it's fantastic. He was ahead of his time.

  • @stellaminge Far and away ahead of us. Nothing more. Man stands ahead of us as we speak? Or was he ahead, behind, light-years ahead? Oh fuck off, Gary confused the time-space thing? Telekon screwed everyone up, huh? I'll send shivers up your spine.......

  • Low rip off

  • @vorkutaman Leave Gary alone!

  • @MiaoPurrington He is fine, trust me?

  • @superunt43 you need the feeling not the man

  • he is a genius and that's that

  • @Zonex123 Yes and I said that 4 decades ago? Or 3?

  • JUST EFFING BRILLIANT.

  • Takes me too my destiny A destiny where only i can go WHAT A AMAZING VOCAL and GOD OF A RYTHM sound

  • Anyone who uses the word indeed...well they should be shot! However, if you say in title and in deed ,

  • @RTensleep indeed.

  • i love all of gary numans songs

  • @Hellgirl7777 A certain few noticed back in the day, a few notice now.

  • @superunt43 hi

  • @superunt43 Apologies

  • ;0 'you need the feeling; not the man' - what a line ;0

  • @nyokoSalome Indeed. I remain not necessary meaning man. And yes it was and remains a great line. Interesting is it not how the simple touch of a key over and over combined with great lyrics creates a great song? Interesting as well how thought is created......

  • look up 'American Airlines Flight 191' on wikipedia... i always picture this pic when i hear this song. occured around the time his album released, and was one of very few pics ever of an aircrash in progress - spookily fits...

  • Fantastic intro.... sounds like some scenes from "Flash Gordon" [1982].

  • I was flying before D Day. I'll tell you when you're going down.

  • YOUNG IN THE 80'S PRICELESS!

  • @samir3323 you said it

  • wow

  • No I am NOT high while typing this people, just like Gary I honestly never get high. I swear! But to me what I picture when I listen to this song a lot is a sort of 'Icarus' character...but the type of Icarus who will win and who will keep flying. Never stopping, never hurting himself, and never falling and drowning in the sea. THIS particular Icarus will make it in the Aircrash Bureau. I picture a person because I'm not as into machines as Gary is and man has always wanted to fly.

  • Because Gary was a pilot I refuse to believe that he didn't think of planes and flying when he wrote this, I mean 'Duh! ' the soong IS called Aircrash Bureau. But to me...for some strange reason... I don't see planes flying...no, I see a human being just getting up into the air & flying, and just going forward, and never stopping & then he/she swoops down again before the 2nd verse! I get a sneaky feeling that MAYBE Gary saw himself doing this when he wrote it? But maybe that's just weird...

  • This song really & truly is my favorite by this man. This song is evocative or actually invokes a lot of actual different pictures in my head and I mean the actual instrumentation, the actual music itself. Some of his other songs do this too but to me this song is the MOST like that out of all of them. Atmospheric is an understatement here.

When I hear this song, it's like the singing & lyrics are a separate entity from the music in the background. (cont.)

  • i like hes hair lol

  • I must give birth to this man's seed. Gary is truly the other Man In Black.

  • Without a doubt, the synthesizer's finest moment.

  • At least Gary's eyes are still a pretty blue though.

  • Like someone else- said one day Gary Numan will get his just recognition and the record industry will bow in shame!

  • @godparticles1

    Nicely put!

  • @tallboyandy23 well said indeed

  • My mother used to called Garys music "Cemetry music"...

No i do think any parent at this time, had a clue what he was about...

Im 44 years old now, and am still so proud.

To have been alive, to witness this little peice of history.

My hat goes off to you Mr "Legend" Gary Numan

  • the best Beginning.. ---- My heart is here.

  • One of Garys best tracks by far....it is pure genius with the synth layering,I've been trying to emulate it but, with no success!

  • The most perfect and awe inspiring song of all time by any artist in my opinion, a slab of pure total brilliance from the first second to the last. Total perfection.

  • i remember buying this album sept 1980 when it was released.......and used to close my eyes and just let the music take me away to somewhere alien and beautiful so far ahead of its time. the genius that is gary numan.

  • Got to be said one of his strongest albums, but for a warm fuzzy glow to you all, how many tracks did he use the slightly discordant piano on no prizes but there maybe more than you think. Upon till this x serviceman lost his entire collection due to being made homeless i could give you chapter and verse but hey "Pilot back i need my squadron" now i,m just an embarassement

  • black milk ihihihii........

  • Have a look at the live vertion, pure genious....The one with the new band behind him....TUNE

  • I'd say the instrumental breaks in this song are some of his most beautiful writing and arranging. When I heard it first it caught me totally off guard. G-g-gorgeous!

  • @steinber This is my fave song of his!

  • god what else is there to say

  • He was doing then what people today are getting called edgy and ground greaking today for..

Is it me or did incubus rip their whole style of the first part of this song. Must be why i like them..lol

  • This was always my favriote on Telekon, up to when I got older, it became the Joy Circuit

  • Absolute PURE GENIUS to make someone feel in the future or feel psychic or a secret agent etc etc.

Thanks to get me through forty years and counting.

  • @hyperdriveguitar His synths are so warm and they can fill up a whole room with their sound & it just lifts me up into the air and just sends me into the future.

  • went to see him in Wolverhampton recently. I would never have believed I could enjoy his gigs as much as I did loads of times in the 80's...I was totally wrong. He was superb and it was one of the greatest days of my life. He is an absolute legend!

  • That synth flows through your very soul

  • Gary Numan has so much soul!

  • Telekon is still one of my favorite cd's....now my teenage kids are enjoying this music. OMG did I just say that!

  • In my opinion this is Numans finest hour, Telekon and this track in particular. Its a superb song on every level, pure genius.

I'll say it again PURE GENIUS.

  • @intheyears79to81 and we all agree!

  • a masterpiece. one of the best uses of preverb in rock. my all-time fave numan track, followed by "exhibition."

  • This song is about a dead pilot during D day!!

  • yep sure is, great stuff.

  • Yes its about the ghost of a dead pilot coming back to warn living pilots of the danger that lies ahead.

    Wonderful wonderful song.

  • This is my ultimate favourite by him, its well written and lovely, just love the synths

  • i love this song the lyrics tell a good story

  • This whole album is alot like Pleasure Principle, espically this song.

  • another of my favourite tracks, well done for the up'

  • this is a grim story in these lyrics, I think it could be played live on the tour coming up ;)

  • what's the grim story about?

  • I think he means the story of the ghost in the lyrics.
