  • IMO if you keep getting jobs with that thickness and weld length, go for SAW.

  • subby would create to much heat i think causing it to warp...

  • Usually if you are putting that much weld, you want to do it in a one shot deal to create the least amount of distortion. Also jobs that justify SAW are commonly heat treated to cure distortion.

  • judging by how this looks/sounds id say it if flux core?

  • yeh dosent seem to be solid wire not loud enough and no where near enough spatter

  • It is 1.6mm solid wire with gas about 320amps all metal is preheated
