IMO if you keep getting jobs with that thickness and weld length, go for SAW.

Usually if you are putting that much weld, you want to do it in a one shot deal to create the least amount of distortion. Also jobs that justify SAW are commonly heat treated to cure distortion.

yeh dosent seem to be solid wire not loud enough and no where near enough spatter

It is 1.6mm solid wire with gas about 320amps all metal is preheated
