Funny you speak about cops being half staffed on holidays over there...here in the USA...at least in Florida, every holiday they make sure to have a full fleet of traffic cops out. Most holidays have more cops than usual...on top of that, these cops are all naturally angry for not being able to be with their families on whatever holiday it is, so you see people getting pulled over for doing like three over. It's crazy.

i just crashed saturday

skinned up my knees/ shredded my pants.

picked the bike up and kept going

about a mile down the road i came around a corner and there was a cyclist on my side of the road.

hit the brakes hard (didnt lock them up)

but it took to much weight of the rear and i lowsided, then highsided. got a broken wrist and a fractured my collar-bone.

get pins or a plate put in tommorrow.

that cyclist better think hes lucky. if it wasnt me and it was a car hed be dead

wouldnt you rather have your kickstand on the low side of the slope that way theres less of a chance your bike is gonna tip over. you have to tip the bike pretty far on the kickstand side for it to tip but not to far on the non kickstand side.

i have a hard time backing my bike out esp up hill but id back it out up hill to risk it falling over anyday.

i think the slope was going down into the curb, not parallel to it. so if the front of the bike is facing down it'll want to roll forward and push the kick stand back and fall. having it in first might help but i usually don't like leaving it in gear.

But the donation thing was just a last resort kind of thing because he was getting evicted from the country.

Pffft! Yeah I tried to get my mum to go on the back of my old bike once, I managed to take her down the road to the 1st lamppost and back at very SLOW speed, and she did not like it at all, so that was the end of that!

I learned that parking trick after parking downwards once and having to get a mate pull me backwards to get out of it, Now I plan every escape route before parking my heavy lump of steel....
