Superman is BIGGER than Christopher Reeve, he's bigger than any human. He's been around for over 70yrs and has been portrayed by at least 6 different actors, at least two of which came before Reeve. Why stop telling the story of Superman just because someone died? He's a great moral character that will live forever.

It's too bad. The first two of the original installment were actually pretty good. As a kid, I even liked the 4th one with the dude from the Sun. But as I left the theater upon viewing Superman Returns, I was on the fence b/c I love Supes so I tried to convince myself to like the movie, but in the end it fails miserably.  The plane sequence was good, but the plot was horrible. I don't even like Spacey as Luthor. From the bad casting, to the gay-bashing scene on New Krypton, it was just bad

The way I understand it is that its all about story and image. If your story's great and the image fits, it works and audiences will come. The vision of Superman Return overpowered the story which was too tame for audiences to enjoy. Simply beef up the story.

It exactly what Wonder woman and Justice League movie is going through. Capture the right image and write the best story so it wont look lame and tame.
