  • David.. you are the greatest drummer in my book! BUT.....im sorry, cuz that song belongs to Ronnie Beck

  • @2:19 - McLovin' from Superbad is trying his best to get his groove on

  • @themucaro Hahahaha duuuude it's him haha. that was awesome

  • Tom Politzer is incredible.

  • This is all well done. They build a strong and driving foundation with drums and bass, layer a rhythm guitar over that, bring in horns for harmony, rhythm and punctuation, add a layer of organ/keyboards, and put the vocals as the melody. These guys are professional, practice a lot, and don't miss a beat or a note. Their execution is damn near flawless and the result kicks ass.

I've been a fan for 40 years. Tower of Power is better than ever.

  • Bobby Sparks is the man, on the organ!

  • are there two versions of Oakland Stroke? I'm familiar with a version that uses a highhat lick

  • @jk1802 This one's called "Stroke '75", was the flipside to "So Wonderful, So Marvelous" 45.

  • @jk1802 yes, there are two versions, this lick is more like the original version waaaaaaaay back when

  • The horn section is as tight as a clenched fist!!!!

  • Yo.

knew several of these guys and some from cold blood.. I can't believe i'm still alive to sit here and listen. Growing up in Brookfield Villiage in Oakland, I think I'll make this my ring tone(probably my last!)
