this was a nice effort but it just doesn't feel quite right. what i think might have been more in keeping with the silent creepieness of this film would be to keep the actors silent and employ the use of a more foreboding music acompanied with ambient background sound effects such as the rats scurrying out of the coffin, the ocean waves against the ship as well as the classic creaking sounds old wooden ships make. thanks for an interesting concept and video.
Bernard J. Taylor turned this movie into a wonderful musical, with performances by some of the greatest stage singers alive today. Some videos showing the songs in the context of this movie have been uploaded on here by sunnysiebahn. For some reason you can't include web addresses in posts, even for youtube, but if you put the name sunnysiebahn in the search bar you should find it.
wtf happens!!!!!!!!!!! the guy is steering the boat and the fucking vampire is standing there what is he gonna do jumped off the ship?bite him?fight him?wtf!
Scurtulos told a right thing. If you want to talk about cradle of filth, talk about it in another place, but not here...Murnau's film never be involved by this frivolouses things. A thing is a cinematographic masterpiece, another thing are sh**s that there is on tv..
Sorry, but this comment made me angry.
And sorry for my comment, if there is an error, it's only beacause i'm italian and i've got a bad pronunciation..
Cradle of filth and americanised goth-culture as far away from my favourite movie as you can, there is no connection what so ever between Nosferatu - ein symfonie des Grauens and CoF.
I know people that love "cheesy" and people that hate it. I assume you mean "cheesy hate"? Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.. I agree that the original is creepy without sound effects, but it's also creepy with them. Not sure cheesy really describes what's going on here, but o.k., thanks for the comment. By adding sound, I am taking it out of the silent category and making it something different. It's not meant to be a replacement or a comparison, just an interesting experiment in sound design.
I loved it, this was simply fantastic. I never even thought about adding sound effects to movements. I would love to see a full rescore of Nosferatu come out like this.
the work you did on the soundtrack and foley looks great. Well done. Is this a project you're undertaking for the whole movie? I'd love to know more. Please keep me updated, you can contact me through my channel.

Nice work, although the sound FX do make it sound a little comicla/cartoonish in some places, i.e, the swooshing rope noise.
AddictForDramatics93 2 years ago
really makes it suspenseful

great work!
although i think you should go easy on the rope noise at about 1:00
sounds too power ranger-ish

i guess you're now able to appreciate scenes like those from the bloody horror films of today's 'ambitious' cinema
kasjanek21 4 years ago
I know, blood isn't scary, it's gross and it's a cheap special effect that will reap in millions. what's scary is suspense.

One of the things that make this film so creepy is that there are no sound effects. Youve just made it cheesy
