I said yes, and she walked to another elevator. So yeah, that is the story. Yet another elevator out of service at the mall. I saw a sign on it two days later. Yes, two elevators are broken. The other one, ehhh, it got stuck.

So anyway, I was at the mall in Syracuse, NY. They have 4 Dover traction elevators. I was going to ride one to the 1st floor. When I got on the elevator, I pressed the button and closed the door. There were passengers inside. After I closed the door, everyone inside was like: WTF? The elevator wasn't doing anything. So I got out and a mop lady wanted to use it. I told her it was broke. She asked, "Are you sure?"

How many times have you gotten stuck in elevators? I saw your 2 videos of it happening in the parking garage in downtown Roanoke. As well as this video. So far I only got stuck in an elevator twice. Once in a Harrisburg PA parking garage and once at work but the one at work was only going slow. The one in Harrisburg stopped for a few minutes and once the door opened I walked up the parking garage to get to my car.

@CaptainElevator42189 Dover/Thyssenkrupp does suck but certain ones like this one do have thier days the video i have of the old vintage dovers at saint joseph berea the one i filmed with a rear door used to jolt up and down until thyssenkrupp came one day and did a little work to it dont know exactly when they done it though i still prefer series 1 otis not ever had a problem while riding one of those

Schindler's definitely the worst. one of Schindler elevators in the hospital in the city I live in broke-down in October 2003. patient in hospital bed died unfortunately. KONE should have provided the new customer lifts to the hospital instead of Schindler with the not good EuroLift elevators.

same thing happened to me on the elevator at The Bay in Victoria (I have a vid of the elevator but not the incident) except it was a montgomery traction rather than a dover hydro. Also it was scenic so I could tell it was moving.

Seems like a fairly common problem though, I wonder what causes it.

Wow. That was strange. On December 29th at Maplewoods Tower on Elevator #2 I was stuck in it for two minutes on the 2nd floor. I was going down and when it got to 2 it started to bump and then a sudden stop. Although this was my first time being stuck in an elevator.

If you saw my Gallagher TnhyssenKrupp video, I had an elevator that just sat there with the door open (after calling it), pressing buttons, until I chose a different floor, then the door closed, and reopened on its own. Hit door close at that time, and it ran fine since. Hooray for 21'st Century DoverKrupps!

That has happend to me I usually just push the doors open button, if you get stuck in it. You can also kick the left side door hard and it should run. It's the latch or something that's screwed up

A somewhat similar event happened to me in the new ThyssenKrupp at the hospital new medical office (the one with Signa4) where just after it left 2 it went on leveling speed all the way to 1 and took 2 minutes. I did not get it on video, but I did notify facilities management and Marshall fixed it.

I've had a few similar things happen like that. It feels like it has stopped, but it is in fact leveling VERY slowly like what happened to you. Funny it's another Dover from the same generation as the other one you got stuck in, in the Parkade awhile back. :-)
