I was on guard duty in a bunker in Tuy Hoa waiting for pickup to go back to the barracks. They brought a dozer out pulling a duice to get us. That sand it blew up was in every thing. We were wet and cold by the time we got picked up. Bad day all around.
I flew into cam ranh 1 day beforethat storm and was put on sandbagging the roof's.Seem's like it was yesterday!Can remenber crawling on my hand's and knee's to get to the mess hall. Been returning to Vietnam every year since 1998 an passed by last year. Won't be long before they destroy the place with big mega resorts! thank you Larry
Went thru 2 typhoons in 70 - 71. Not as bad as this put pretty impressive.

I think this was probably the remnants of Super Typhoon Wendy.
