I used to think I was the only one in the States that heard of these guys,their albums were hard to find I had several of them. Canadians use the word "buddy " also.
@midnighttilldawn You missed out : Green, party ain't over yet, Oriental, Jam side down, Oh man you have missed out. New album out soon as well. Quo is forever.
No it's not a classic...RAOTW was the beginning of the end...with poppy tunes like this, followed later by the godawful Marguerita Time...no wonder Alan Lancaster wasn't happy...he wanted them to play rock the way it should be played.
@midnighttilldawn Them how come RAOTW is the Quo's biggest anthem, huh? And tell me this: Are the title track or Rockers Rollin' poppy tunes? Please, get real.
@midnighttilldawn I'm not going to accept the Quo as a cabaret band, because they aren't. It's more like AOR. And you should accept the fact that the Quo weren't afterall a "three chords band". And Lancaster, who is a great musician, didn't want to belong in the band indeed. But he sued Rossi and Parfitt for "using" the Quo name. So who's in fact the jerk?
@midnighttilldawn Ahaaa, so when you're running out of arguments, you start with insults. But that's not surprising if you called Rhino a jerk, just because he's not Lancaster. Take a Hard look at yourself buddy!
@midnighttilldawn Ok, peace then. And no, you don't know me, it was an expresion; and I'm not American either. Only Americans use the word "buddy"? I didn't know that.
I have admired quo from the 60's to the present time, I seem to have aged with them . What you see is what you get , they served a gruelling apprenticeship and have stood the test of time, non of this nandy pandy music just pure simple and raw , Carry on lads .

No it is not. Britain is the 2nd best place to make it. America is #1 by a mile. There are huge stars in India and China that wish they were known in America. Nobody cares much if they make it in other places nearly as much as if they make it in America.Like ir or not, good or bad, America is the standard bearer.
Well you are missing out then aren't you? The Top 40 in the US is controlled by radio stations and not record sales. Therefore you don't get to hear what people actually want to hear and buy.
well i think you just dont know shit about music then. in america, they only that people for their looks and dont give a shit whether people can sing or not thanks to their studio technology. so stay in america and listen to your crappy music, while the rest of us enjoy quo.
Yes, Knebworth 90' had Quo, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Genisis, Cliff Richards and the Shadows, Tears for Fears, Paul McCartney and Wings and a few others I can't think of.
Such a good concert, and soo many good English acts. The dvd of it is available on eBay and places like that.
musicfreak67 - yeah, Rossi Parfitt Coghlan and Bown was the classic line up. But JC left in 81, AL in 85 - and it really doesn't matter who else is there as long as Rick and Frank are. Rhino, Matt and Andy fit in brilliantly - maybe slightly more keyboard orientated than the classic days of Paper Plane (still my fave single after all these years) - but as long as Frank and Rick are still there, Quo will always be the best good time rock'n'roll/boogie band in the world. Long may they rock all!
oh fuck off man! the band are the best now 2008 than they have ever been rhino is brilliant ! Letley is fantastic and one of the best drummers i know! jeff rich was ok in this like!
sorry but I miss Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan in the band. Maybe in the future there will be a reunion of the classic lineup. "Dirty water" may be a nice song but not as great as their old songs like "Big fat mama", "Down the dustpipe", "Spinning wheel blues" and "April, spring, summer and wednesdays". Greetings to all from germany
This is certainly one of my fav's of Quo. Always goes down well in concert and, in truth, hard to do with such a huge audience! Sound takes longer from the audience at the back, but it comes together great here. In an auditorium this *always* is the best! Just as it is here of course.
This is the first band I ever saw live, I was about 5 years old, at bridlington spa, saw em the two years after that too, and this was always my favourite song! Thanks for posting!!!
I can only agree with all comments,if the videos are good the live performances are mind blowing.Unlike some I've only seen them 11 times live,paulwmids must be well gone !!!!!!!
One of my fondest memories was Rossi telling us all to stand up LOL. There were bouncers on every row, and he said "There is not a lot they can do about it, if you all stand up" and of course We All Did ;)

Too right, he's a nerdy bass player in a pop band. I stopped buying Quo's stuff after Perfect Remedy, that was enough for me.
Throw away your old address book, what the fuck is that all about ?
They threw away all their kudos.
I preferred them when they were doing the coke..the music was 100% better

@midnighttilldawn Them how come RAOTW is the Quo's biggest anthem, huh? And tell me this: Are the title track or Rockers Rollin' poppy tunes? Please, get real.
PurpleInTheDeep 1 year ago
@PurpleInTheDeep
It's the biggest anthem because it's pop and reaches a wider audience.
Rhino? he's a fuckin jerk.
Now stop being so sensitive and accept the fact that for years Quo have been a cabaret band,
Lancaster could see the way they were headed so he got out.
midnighttilldawn 1 year ago
@midnighttilldawn I'm not going to accept the Quo as a cabaret band, because they aren't. It's more like AOR. And you should accept the fact that the Quo weren't afterall a "three chords band". And Lancaster, who is a great musician, didn't want to belong in the band indeed. But he sued Rossi and Parfitt for "using" the Quo name. So who's in fact the jerk?
PurpleInTheDeep 1 year ago
@PurpleInTheDeep
Where did I say anything about a chord band?
Lancaster sued because he didn't want them ruining the bands name with inferior music.
Who's the jerk you ask...well you...if you can't accept that.
midnighttilldawn 1 year ago
@midnighttilldawn Ahaaa, so when you're running out of arguments, you start with insults. But that's not surprising if you called Rhino a jerk, just because he's not Lancaster. Take a Hard look at yourself buddy!
PurpleInTheDeep 1 year ago
@PurpleInTheDeep
I suggested you may be a jerk, hardly an insult unless you're very sensitive.
have a look at Quo videos on here and see the way rhino is on stage,
I don't dislike him just because he isn't Lancaster, he's just nerdy and, well...a jerk.
I'm not your buddy, I don't know you...and I'm not American...are you ?
