You did not have the motor level when you changed the oil. Therefore there would be less oil in the case which probably is not a big issue. Also you did not mention the washers should be changed when on each plug.
Isn't a problem, you fill up from the bottom of your gearbox, and you don't get any air then, and wiith the top bung done up you get an airlock which prevents the oil from draining out. Be as quick as possible putting the bottom bung in on the outboard leg and you should only lose a minimal amount which won't affect your gearbox.
I like this video, but I'm have a hell of a time when 87 Yamaha just started it up today Jane.all the mission coils. But is doing the same thing as last year runs only with the choke wide open or partially closed. I did a compression check today. All cylinders are 95 PSI or 98 PSI in that range.
I bought it online three years ago have not been able to get it to run. Still, it will not idle for longer than a few minutes then it dies need your help in this matter. Thank you
Check your fuel or spark plugs aren't gummed up, Can't be too major, take it in to your local outboard yamaha motor dealer and sure they'll be able to sort it out. Good luck!!
Check out a few of our other maintenance videos, well worth a look as well as how to service your 4 stroke motor, pretty easy really, Also keep an eye out for fishing line wrapped around your prop, can damage the seals to your gearbox,
Most 4 stroke outboard engines are every 100 hours or once a year, and would stick with your outboard manufacturers recommend oil, your local marine dealer will stock oil and filters,
That's a pump attachment you can bry from your manufacturer's dealer which screws into the bottom of the gearbox, and you pump the oil up from the bottom till it overflows from the top bung, Make sure you use oil, you don't want water in your gearbox, won't last long,

Is it OK to lose a few milliliters before you get the bottom screw in?

is that a sunscreen tub or do you buy the oil like that?
meakesey 1 year ago
Just a bucket or tub to drain waste oil into from the gearbox. Make sure you use the manufacturers approved oil for the change.,

@Reefari nah i meant the tub you were using to pump water into the gearbox
