I am a hard, but not die-hard Blizzard gamer. My first game was the original Diablo when I was eight, then, I played a little Starcraft, then Diablo II and did not play another Blizzard game till WoW, last year. Because of not having a gaming computer, or not having enough to buy the games, I missed out on some classics, but, it is great to pick them up.

Actually I can. I realised the endless shit storm of monsters and such in a game were silly. I had actually known this as a child in fact but forgot it or never seen it as clear. When I replayed many games of my youth, such as Ultima 7. I quickly felt the hack & slashers had little to no meaning in value and in game play.

I could just as easily go through D2 and make it to the end and feel no satisfaction from playing it had I not played it at all. While U7 was like an old friend

Yeah. I thought the game was. But if you think I am. That is saying more about you than I. Everyone has an opinion. But I did play all of the games and expansions. Found it to be one of those games that I felt truly captured a good system at its core. Ran with it. Then felt let down it just didn't make sense to even play.

How? The way in which it is designed. You run around killing 1000's of things that just randomly charge you and why? To be powerful enough to get the end. Boring.

@slantize Yes, that sounds very familiar. I remember doing almost the exact same thing when D1 came out. I still play that one and D2 occasionally. Unfortunately, I probably won't have the time or energy to do marathon sessions of D3 when that comes out. Getting older sucks. Hell, I can't even give D2 the same attention I did anymore.

Best way to start off if your new or quit and are making a new acct is to make a d2jsp acct spend 10$ for the forum gold (believe me it's worth it) and use it to gear an uber mf Sorc. Use what you have left to make an uber Smiter and you're good to go!

@Cheximus I know what you mean, man, I started with that same age when I was like 13 or so. I remember being in the D1 chat when the 9/11 attack happened. I loved the game, specially the beefs that existed between countries, we would enter french, polish (man! polish players were HARDCORE), german chat rooms and troll them really hard when trolling didn't even exist, just to challenge them to a duel afterwards. Then make a screenshot of their chopped off ears...(sigh) the good times.
