  • Well this guy is right to an extent. Majority of Americans think that a U.S. Marshal agent is all bang bang Justified or Manhunters. You must have a great deal of knowledge of the federal court system, in which case is very dull. Though their are many jobs in the U.S. Marshal's service most of them are all in the federal courts. Do your research to gain a better understanding. Please note before you copy cat someone elses negativity, a U.S. Marshal is not just a Justified Cowboy.

  • ...and he knows this because he spent how many years running from the law as a "gangsta"?

  • This guy is a fucking idiot! Talking out of his ass

  • My cousin is a u.s. marshal. He says he's never been happier. The job's very rewarding as you catch scum and help protect the innocent. The pay's good and although the secret service and the F.B.I. eclipse' the image of the U.S. marshal service somewhat in glamour and media hype, he says he would not change his job for the world. His only regret is that he often has to lie about what he does for a living and even his neighbours think he's just a " salesman".

  • This guy has no idea what the U.S. Marshals do or who they are.....You Tube should take down this video. This video is nothing but full of false and inaccurate information.

  • he should've said google it dumb ass

  • This guy is fucked in the head... most of their time in court? I think a little more research is required on his part... his name should be changed from expertvillage to ireaditonwikipediavillage. And just like NoPanoch said... dipshit here doesn't even know how to spell Marshal... wow, really?

  • This guy is so dumb that he spelled Marshal Wrong..... One L not two...............

  • This guy does not know what he is talking about.

  • how he know?

  • "Most of the time, US marshals do their work in court." LOL wtf are you talking about bro

  • become a sheep for the new world order. your just following orders. the people that believe in the constitution are terrorists. just become a marshall so you can be above the law

  • @mattbaldea Following the Constitution is terrorism? Then get the hell out out of my country and if you dont live here dont bother. With Republicans and Democrats, lefts, rights and independents the best way to is to be a Constitutionist. The real crime is trying to alter the sacred document to fit all the whiny nagging public who get their feelings hurt. A base foundation for rules is not terrorism it is called order

  • @doonc00nslay3r Nicely put.

  • @doonc00nslay3r hey i like that..i am now a constitutionist

  • There is no polygraph.

  • How do I become a Ghostbuster?

  • @CiNtO92 HOW DO YOU SUCK MA DICK =D

  • @NAWFSIDESOLDIER Oh you know... THE SAME WAY YO MAMA SUCKD MAH DICK BIYATCHHHH

  • For God's sake at least know how to spell the name if your going to attempt to inform people on how to go about getting hired.

  • @Tristen95gi you should study the constitution first and then dont sign up

  • If i lived another life i would love to have become a cop, and worked my way up

to different posistions. It has got to be the most interesting career, and such a

broad range of fields you could get into. Unfortuanatly i have a criminal record

and that isn;t an option for me anymore. The Marshals are bad ass though

Good for them they can now go after sex offenders as well, hopefully the

marshals have a tast force focusing mainly on sex offenders, maybe they will

    actually get things done

  • As a DUSM, you don't think DUSMs conduct surveillance or present original cases? You are a jackass. Your ignorance to the way LE works in the Federal govt is mind boggling.

  • R396.enough already. Marshals have the broadest authority of any agency. FBI is leading Human trafficking. In 1789 the Marshals got broad authority from Pres.Washington and nothing has changed. By the way, ICE is what Marshals use to keep thei beer cold.

  • They do not spend most of their time in court. You gotta track down fugitives, catch them, jail them, possibly transport them, THEN court. Stick to being an ex-cop.

  • I want to add to my comment that I have met a lot of US Marshals. They have told me how to really become a US Marshal. The best thing anyone can do is call up a Marshal's recruiter that's in your district and talk to them.

  • this guy does not know what he's talking about. the USMS specializes in fugitive manhunts as well. there's even a show where u watch the USMS track down criminals. lol

  • The US Marshals specialize in fugitive investigations and apprehensions. Everybody knows that. Of course mr. expert here does not.

  • ok disregarding this guys vid which a punk like me can tell is bs, i have a question. I have some scoliosis. I'm a college student and have maintained a 3.75 GPA throughout my first year. I trained in kung-fu for 7 years and am now learning the basics of Brazillian Ju-Jitsu. As a service brat I'm well versed in fire-arms and have solid ability as a marksman. I can run a mile and a half in 9 min, do 55 push per min. Will my back be a problem if I want to join the USMS

  • I have to say this guy is so funny because he is sooo ignorant. I have seen all of his "How to Beome A...." videos and he doesn't know a damn thing about what he is talking about. I have interned with the Federal Probation and know the requirements for becoming a federal agent. He is so clueless and it is sad! Listen, you need to change your username from expertvillage to dumbass village! Ur videos are so stupid its pathetic!

  • Every once in a while I come here, and it makes me want to punch this guy for being one of America's biggest retards.

On other matters, R396 is way off the mark. The USMS has the widest arrest authority of any LE agency in the country. They can enforce all of the Federal Code as well as being able to act as any local Sheriff. Essentially, they can lock you up for any offense, anywhere in the country or its possesions. There is NO other agency that can do that. ontheright is onthemoney.

  • @gijoeyl33 I repeat my claim...Read the post below...They can RE-ARREST or ARREST someone after they have been indicted for any federal crime. However, they can not open new case and arrest people for drugs, bank robbery etc. Big, big difference.....So NO they don't have the largest authority.

  • Comment removed

  • @R396 Second, you seem to be confusing jurisdiction and authority with investigative preview. You are right, they don't investigate those crimes. That is far from their preview; however they do have authority to arrest for them. Based off what you said, if a DUSM was standing outside a bank being robbed, he has no authority to detain the subject? Now we all know that is hogwash.

  • @gijoeyl33 Read the email I sent you! 1- Any person (civilian or LEO) can arrest the bank robber. It is called citizens arrest or for LEO felony committed in presence. 2- What you and I call "authority" are two different things! A DUSM is not going to be an affiant on a case and initiate a case such as FCI, Bank Robbery, Drugs, Human Trafficking; Counter-proliferation. Yes, they can arrest on one of the subject if he/she is a BFW/FTA/ or Unlawful flight. Big, big difference than stating they

  • @R396 They sure will be the affiant on the cases you cite and have been and continue to be the affiant. Ever heard of JTTF? I know someone who has been the affiant on a variety of these types of cases and is a Deputy U.S. Marshal (a real one, not a TFO). Hint hint. It would behoove you get your hands on a set of Marshal credentials and read them. Also read the statutes that give the USMS their authority. It is pretty clear and in black and white.

  • @ontheright1 You have not read my other diatribes! Yes a JTTF Task Force Officer or DEA TFO could be an affiant! But like my other posts said, that is a very small percentage of USMS personnel nationwide. The majority of the USMS do not do this type of work!!!!!!!

  • @ontheright1 Also they issue local/state/ some federal JTTF a USMS credentials so when they ID themselves people understand who they are (interviews/arrests etc). Those TFO personnel are not DUSM's, just deputized USM. So this is does not correspond to everything a real USMS does everyday. Further, if you wanna make that argument, AFOSI and other DCIO work with/assigned to certain intelligence task forces. Does that mean that they are CIA/DIA??? I think not!

  • @R396 I will give you a simple example. In my state, NC we have a LE agency called ALE. It stands for Alcohol Law Enforcement and they have statewide powers of arrest. Their investigative preview is obviously alcohol. Do they do murder investigations? "NO" They are not charged with those duties, it is not in their investigative preview....Do they have the authority to arrest someone on a murder charge if they want to? "Yes" By law they have statewide powers

  • @gijoeyl33 I know of ALE, they do have state authority, but again they are not going to open up a case and step on NCSBI's toes! They could not do that, and wouldnot! These agencies have their own specific jurisdiction and the reasoning behind the state authority is that they are basically state police detectives.

  • @R396 My spell check burnt me. On my posts Investigative "Preview" is supposed to be "Perview"

  • @gijoeyl33 And yes, your TFO comment applies. If that agency is extending their authority to a DUSM then yes, I agree with you! However, that applies to any LEO on a task force, not just USMS.

  • @R396 You simply know very little of what you are saying. You think you know, but you simply do not. A Deputy US Marshal can open any investigation in the federal realm and work the lead statutorily speaking. The reason that they don't frequently is b/c the govt. has divided out and compartmentalized these duties. It would be too much for one agency. So, to review, the USMS is the only agency with the authority broad enough to open, investigate, and arrest on ANY crime within the US.

  • @ontheright1 I can god damn guarantee they will not take a lead, on say a human smuggling load, work an informant, do surveillance, infiltrate that organization, present the original case to an AUSA for prosecution and apply for search warrants, arrest warrants. Serve those warrants and present the offenders for an initial! I can guarantee you they have NO AUTHORITY TO DO THIS! Why, because this is ICE's jurisdiction! The same would be said for mostly every other crime!

  • Are you kidding me right now?? Who is this guy? There is no useful information in this video. They DO NOT require college at a GS-05 level, they DO NOT POLYGRAPH (one of the few that don'), they also DO NOT have open applications. They have been closed to general public recruiting for a very long time. Military applicants and College Co-op had been the only way in for several years.....but hey, lets make a video where I can pretend to know what I am talking about. Schmuck.

  • do you need coellege and law enfocement or one of each?

and which would be best to have?

who much do marshals get paid a year?

  • so can a Navy SEAL with no college experience become a US Marshal?

  • Ask yourself this, "why do FBI agents and other FEDS want to be deputized as Marshals?" Because of the authority. Other agencies can't even touch Marshals jurisdiction.

  • @ontheright1 FBI agents are not "deputized" by USMS. Only 1811 positions that are quasi-law enforcement like nuclear regulatory special agents get deputized to carry firearms 24-7. They can carry during work only, unless deputized. FBI has 24-7. In fact the FBI has the largest federal statutory jurisdiction with ICE being in second.

  • Remember, the U.S. Marshals are the highest law enforcement authority in the country. This clown doesn't know what he is talking about.

  • @ontheright1 Your statement is WRONG AGAIN! There is NO HIGHEST AUTHORITY. However, each agency has a Congressional statutory laws they can enforce. Example, the ATF will not investigate bank robbery because it can't, that's the FBI's authority. However, the FBI will not investigate firearms violations, unless it pertains to terrorism. And even then they have an ATF agent on board through a JTTF.

  • @R396 You are clueless. FBI agents are frequently deputized as U.S. Marshals. Marshals can enforce every Title 18 offense. They are the only agency that can do that. They also have authority as sheriff meaning all state, local and county jurisdiction. FBI and ICE have very limited statutory authority. While Marshals don't enforce a lot of the things other agencies tradtionally do, Deputy Marshals can charge, write affidavits, and arrest on more offenses than all of the other agencies.

  • @ontheright1 WRONG! Why would the FBI be US Marshal deputized????? They have their own statutory arrest authority! You make no sense! Also not every state allows Federal Agents to have peace officer authority, meaning they can only make arrest for local/state crimes under certain circumstances akin to a citizens arrest. Please read your laws, you have absolutely NO clue what you are talking about.

  • @R396 You obviously don't work in the field. Why would they be deputized, because they have limited statutory authority. Every U.S. Marshal has peace authority in every state. You are telling me to read the law, I live it everyday. So, you jackass, look this one up Title 28 Section 564. Sheriff is the highest authority in a state, U.S. Marshals have their authority in a state. Read it and weep. Don't hate because you can't carry America's Silver Star.

  • @ontheright1 Highest authority to RE-ARREST someone on an outstanding failure to appear warrant. That is not the same thing as being the investigating agent. It's RE-ARREST....A deputy USM can not open a drug case, or investigate someone for a bank robbery or investigate and arrest someone counter-intelligence...

  • @R396 AND YES THEY CAN OPEN DRUG CASES!!!! HINT HINT!! I know. Look up OCEDFT DEA Task Force..Marshals can open cases from the start to the end...again..HINT HINT. I KNOW LOL. AN YES THEY INVESTIGATE BANK ROBBERY. EVER HEARD OF SAFE STREET TASK FORCE. AGAIN...DO RESEARCH!!!

  • @R396 Well first, they are phasing out 082's....1801's are a different job dude. All new hires will eventually start going through 1811 training, however initial duties will most likely remain in the 082 arena.

  • @R396 ....you don't know what you're talking about along with the dumb ass who posted this video. He doesn't have a clue and you don't either.

  • @zandmanr1 On what that I posted that you don't agree with??? Yes, USMS do fugitive investigations. But you will not do that type of work for about 3 years. You start off as an 1801, then convert to an 1811 (criminal investigator) after 3 years of service as an 1801. As an 1801 you are mostly doing court security, prisoner intake, federal judge security etc.

  • @R396 Dude, you have a small small clue of what the job is. First off, they start out as O82's...not 1801. An they don't have to wait 3 years to become an 1811. I know some who go theirs in 2 years or less! I know! HINT HINT!! An yes O82's are working a lot of warrants, some more than court. Depends on their office. Before you assume..do a lil more research on your topic and spell MARSHALS right!! LOL

  • Riiped off for $174,000,000 two killings and an attempt on my life why can you not help us we are the COMO FAMILY, my father trained the first boers for the Olympics my uncle helped design the guidence system for Apollo and Dad was forced to drink a fifth of whiskey by Kalen Entriken who then set me up on a gun charge and he disabled our ADT system! He then took dads heart pills

  • This guy has no clue what he is talking about and he spelled US Marshal wrong by spelling it w/2 L's. rockla15168 is correct, watch for open regions on the US Marshals website. College, military and law enforcement experience or a combination will qualify you to be a US Marshal. A final word of advise, make sure you are in top physical condition for the academy if lucky enough to be hired. The USMS Academy is know for its intense physical conditioning sessions.

  • Best bet is to talk to a recruiter, this guy doesn't provide much info. Also, if you know anybody working as a federal law enforcement officer, they will be a useful resource on the hiring process.

  • lol yes, you MUST apply on line. I am currently in process and I can tell you step by step how is done.

#1, you do apply on line when there are openings and it goes by regions. Usually when the announcement opens, it opens for a few minutes. last time it was open for 10 minutes and as soon as they reached certain number of applications, 400 this time it closed right away. #2, I will not give away the remaining steps since im still an applicant and the idea is to recruit the best. good luck!

  • Additionally, I don't believe you need a college degree.

  • It's recommended, but you need either a bachelor's degree, or 3 years police experience, or a combination of the both.

  • Actually the gentleman is'nt entirely incorrect, although I would NEVER refer to a U.S. marshal as a bailiff. The average deputy us marshal will spend a good majority of his/her time managing and transporting federal prisoners over the course of their careers. The job does extend MUCH further than that though. As for applying, a list of recruiters can be found on their website corresponding to your local area. Normally hiring is done through regional recruiting drives.

  • one L

  • This guy has no clue what USMS does!!!

  • He's not saying you apply online, he's saying you get the resume online, and can fill it out online, then turn it in, in person.

  • He says, "You MUST apply online"

  • You don't apply online. What are you talking about?

  • Says who?

  • yea this guys has no idea about how to become a US Marshal or what they do and specialize in.

  • Whats the age and where could i find an application please!

  • WOW!!! This guy needs to do some research on the divisions and opportunities in the field of the US Marshals

  • Comment removed

  • Well, first, you should really research the agency that you want to apply for. This guy doesn't really have an idea of what the United States Marshals do. He doesn't even know how to spell it. Just call your local US Marshals Service office and ask to speak to a recruiter to get the real scoop...

  • I bet he uses the same rap if you want to be a postman.....

  • Thats what I notice about all kinds of these help type vids, they all say the same shit about all kinds of stuff lol

  • I'm planning myself to become one later on.

  • They also hunt down federal fugitives.

  • Yeah,...i've seen the movie too...

  • at least u can give us the link or the website where we can apply or something?

  • serious? You can't google "US Marshal Service"?

  • You click on it and so did over 7,000 other people.

  • thanks 4 da information.

  • I would also like to add that US Marshals make more street arrests than all other law enforcement agencies combined...including the FBI and ATF. They are responsible for fugitive apprehension and now have jurisdiction over sex offenders as well.
