Holy shit you gave 99999999999x more info than any expert village video. And thanks btw, I should be starting soon and these tips will help once I get around to getting my own bow
hi im a 15 year old boy 5'8 and im a begginer im looking to buy my first bow and im struggling to choose between the brute x, stinger 3G or the pse rally which would yu recommend?
@SuzanEngler Either one would be a good one. i recently got to set-up a stinger and I think that they are pretty nice. I feel they are a little bit better than the Diamond Razor
Are short draw length bows common? Draw weight is not an issue, 65 is no problem, but archery shops are limited here and i don't know if bows like that are common.
really like the vid. my son 11 showing interest since boy scout camp over the summer and I have always been interested..I got some good info from the vid.I'm a shorter guy 5'6'' and just had neck surgery,3 discs might have to go with a shorter bow which all n all will make it easyer to use..any sugestions...2 newbies :)
@animagigirl Depends on what you want to spend and what you want out of a bow. Best advice I can give is to go to your local pro shop and shoot every bow you can and see what you like.
@petterus23 I have a recurve with wooden limbs that was made in 1972 and the limbs are still fine. You just have to take care of them a little better.
@madnessoutdoors That's just a left handed quiver that I had to mount upside down in order to use it. It was a really good quiver and I got it really cheap so it worked out!
I have an interesting question for you. It's about right hand and left hand difference in bows. Now I'm new to the family and am about to buy my new bow but there's one problem.... I know that bows are made a cwrtian way for right and left handed BUT i often see people shooting a left handed bow with their right hand and vise versa. Now im EIGHT HANDED and What I'm wondering is how to be sure to shoot properly. Should the arrow fall into the rest on the left side of the vow if your shooting rig
Most will last a very long time. Usually unless you do something to damage the bow the limbs will last as long 10 years or more. Today's fiberglass limbs are better than ever.
Sure. Limbs are made of fiberglass and have been known to split or break. Especially if the bow has been dry fired. Risers are a little harder but I have heard of them breaking or bending. This doesn't happen to often though.
I grew up shooting a recurve and still have one. You can see it hanging in the background in most of my newer videos. Traditional archery is making a comeback that is for sure but I am no expert so I leave that area of archery alone. I do like hunting with one and love to take small game.
yes i agree yes man i like u... lol i use to think traditional was a thing of the past til a few shot from skool bows and no sight shooting i think traditional archery is by far the funnest i mean anyone can have fun shootin bullseyes with a high tech compound like todays models but shooting with recurves or no sights is very fun and challenging... very fun and i fell in love with it but i will also shoot compounds but i think for family frend fun stuff id say traditional is best
Sure is if you have the right tools. A bow Press and allen wrenches are all you would need. I suggest taking pictures of everything first and marking the cams and limbs top and bottom.

@SuzanEngler I looked at a PSE Stinger the other day and I liked it. I think it's a better bow than the Diamond Razor Edge.
ikesoutdoors 2 months ago
@ikesoutdoors wait do you still like the stinger better than the edge because i am getting the edge for my 13th birthday and im a 5'10 175 kid

@WhatUGawkinAt 27-30 is about average. some bows will go lower but most stop at 27.
ikesoutdoors 2 months ago
@WhatUGawkinAt They are becoming more and more common. Most bows range from 27 to 30 but I am seeing short draw bows a lot more these days

@Ricky039 Get something with a nice big round cam on it. It should have a nice smooth draw cycle to it.

I'm 17 and 158lbs, what bow should I get for around 400$?

get to the point

@Xxfootball27xX In that price range look into a good used bow. You can pick up a bow that is a year or 2 old that is still top of the line.

@36drifterboy I would look at the Diamond Outlaw, look at Bear's lineup, Martin has some good bows out for 2012 that are easy on the wallet.

@civicblizz Yeah the arrow and rest should be on the left side of the riser on a right handed bow.

how fast do limbs break? (non-wooden one)
Thx for the 1st answer :D

I've been thinking....
Is it possible for these "Metal" bows to break?
at least the risers....limbs?
i know woods can..xD

Is it the same for longbows and recurves just without the cams?
theonethebeast 1 year ago
Tr4aditonal bows are different. You want to look for cracks in the riser or limbs as well as twisted or weak limbs.
