  • Your Stalking the Amish?

  • whats so great bout shipshe i live like 10 miles away, where they also roll up the streets on sundays

  • The "Blue Gate" is a fabulous place to eat in Shipshewana. Also, Shipshewana is known for their high quality, hand-crafted furniture. It makes for a nice day trip.

  • We have a summer house near shipshewana. We go there every summer. Just so you know, Amish do not believe in photography nor do they allow having their picture taken

  • Hi. I used to live near Shipshewana when I was younger. On some days I would ride my bike with my dad and my brother to Shipshewana. It's a cool place to visit.

  • How fascinating

Nice to hear your giggle too :-)

  • i love the handscrafted stuff! I see you may have had one huge road trip!!

  • Three days on the road Cookie. The last day was a killer.

  • Hmmmmm, closed on Sunday??? Wonder why, let us think about this for a minute, okay, done! Maybe cause God worked for 6 days during creation

and decided to rest on the 7th, the 7th day being Sunday...uh huh, well whadyathink;-)

    Oh yeah, I am Back!!!

    xxoo

  • What a beautiful place. No Sunday trading laws? Ah well, at least you got to see it.

  • Looks like a really nice place..

    Pººhßear

  • We love it there. Wonderful shops and all around fun.

  • Hopefully these are decent Amish - not puppymill scum Amish.

  • Very cool.. you were just north of me but I wasn't home, I was in Nashville, TN for southtube... man it would have been great to meet ya. It is beautiful in Shipshawana!

  • Very cool - the only Amish communities I'm familiar with are those in PA - so this was nice. Thanks for taking us along.

  • Thanks for posting! I love watching these, it´s as if I was there but I´m not... Umm, yeah.

  • The last time i went to Shipshawana was 3rd grade. My class mistakenly read free samples and free food. My teacher was so embarrassed.

  • I live in Indiana. :/

  • Very cool video! What a long drive you had! My daughter and I drove from Ohio to CA once, but we didn't take any of the back, scenic routes. Now I wish we had. Its neat that you guys stopped to smell the roses, so to speak!

    Hugs,

    Joanie

  • We love Shipshawana. There's some really nice stores there. A favorite is Simple Sounds. Too bad it was closed, hope you get a chance to pass that way again some time.

  • The house with the car...that little red car, did Brooke call him a trader? Ahahahahaha.

  • No Michelle, she called him a traitor! Ugh! hahahaha

  • LMAO and I needed it, thanks girls;-)

  • LMAO...Tam GOTCHA;-)

  • Noooooooooooo sassypants fresh mouth, she didn't GOTCHA me - I purposely misspelled it. She thinks it's funny I accidentally spell "traitor" as "trader" since trader is what I am! So this time I did it on purpose YOU'RE the one who got got missy! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA

  • I would have bought a basket for my laundry, which I haven't done. But if I had a basket to carry it to the laundry room, it would be done by now.

  • Wow, there were some seriously beautiful yards. Someone put a LOT of time into them.

Hmm, no seatbelt. Well, horses are probably better drivers than humans :-)

That wasn't quite what I expected an Amish community to look like.

  • I know you and your daughter will remember that trip for many years to come. :)

  • ROFLLMAO @ "why is that child not in a seatbelt?" I almost peed!

  • Was that a used buggy lot?

Loved the whispered "that's an Amish house"

    Love your voice.

  • I would have bought some of those chairs! I think I'm moving to Indiana or Pennsylvania. I haven't been through that area since I was a young teen, and things have changed some. There were brick houses, and a basketball hoop on a garage. Everything else looked the same. You didn't pass any barns with hexes on them, did you?

  • I went to a huge flea market in Shipshawanna with some friends a few years ago. Maggie was just 6 mos old so I took her with me. A mistake, for sure but we made it.

  • We live near where you were. I see these houses everyday. My kids go to an Amish babysitter and get that homemade cooking everyday.

  • i go to an amish store all the time and buy homemade breads and pies and, icecream,

fruits and veggies, etc all the time.

  • Yummo!

  • Girls just want to have fun nice Hugs Dee

  • Silly girl! Of course no Amish businesses are open on Sunday! oy vey!

  • Cool place. It looks so prestine. Everything kept so well.

Too bad the store/market was closed, but actually I think that's a good thing. Everybody should atleast get one day off a week.

  • What a great side trip! This looks like the beginning of lots of fun times for you and your daughter!

  • Lola dear you should have stopped and enjoyed the town. Perhaps a bakery;>

  • The only thing that was opened was a gas station. :-(

  • i was just there for the first time last week, it was an awesome place.

i super loved the 40 acre flea market!

    xoexo
