AmericanCWOVI is correct. On both sides, children as young as 12 were allowed to join the army or Marine Corp as musicians. In the navies, kids could serve as powder monkeys. And ironically, boys under the age of 18 who were good liars would lie their way to enlist as enlisted men, instead of musicians.
Absolutly, i know alot about the Iron Brigade who wouldnt. Look into the 7th if you have a chance we faught 4 years over 30 battles and lost our colonel and major on November 27th at Ringgold Georgia.
Great videos & pics. I grew up outside of Memphis. Our Boy Scout troop went to Shiloh almost every year I was active. We'd camp at a nearby park and spend one day to Shiloh and one at Pickwick Dam. Never got to see a reenactment, though.

19th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment Company A - Iron Brigade. I even uploaded a movie of the 2009 re-enactment season events my unit participated in on my channel.
You can see my dad wearing his seargent stripes nearing the end of the movie. You even got a close up of him. You wouldnt be able to tell me unless you knew where I was. Good video! Great job.
Very well done, and excellent job of keeping the spectators out of the video as much as possible. Also, you kept your selves hidden very well on the field. I was at the battle of Bridgeport last year and i never saw anything/anyone resembling a camera crew.
Cool

it needs explosions. I doubt any kids were in the union army. Probably not any kids in the confederate army at this battls. oterwise its good.

Actualy there were many young boys in both Armies. it is guessed that over 2,000 were between 12 and 15. so it would not be inaccurate to have that
