  • Some creditable stabs at English accents here (with the notable exception of the maid, sorry, "mide").

But what Americans don't know (no reason why they should) is that a British newspaper seller would never articulate the name of the paper he was selling so it could be understood. If he wished to inform us he was selling the Evening Standard, he would say "nnnMARP!" (the "Bolton Evening Echo, Cup Final Edition" comes out as "NEEEEP!")

  • Very nice movie!!!The cast was incredible and the part about the rippers 1st victim being his mother i believe that part!I have seen several movies on the ripper story, but i find that i believe the Johnny Depp movie"From Hell"is the most believable one that i have seen yet!!!The story goes just like when a drug dealer hires a hitman to kill a snitch...then kill the hitman to shut all open doors to being convicted!I think THAT is the case in the movie "from hell"with Depp...A royal cover-up...

  • Never seen this. I have the book though. The ending savoured a little of the 1926 Phantom of the Opera. Bits of The Lodger and Jeckyll and Hyde too. Good stuff. Better than Jack the Ripper from the 1950s.

  • good...cool

  • The best version of this song that I found was on mp3ify.com and you can download the mp3 or import it into itunes.

  • @Hammered001 I met him, when I was very small....

  • Saw this as a child with my mother. This and other movies featuring Palance instilled in me with great fear of him. By the time I reached my teens, I realized what a great actor he was to accomplish this. Great man off screen, as well. There are no replacements.

  • very good jack the ripper drama !!! palance particularly spooky !!! thanks for sharing !!!

  • Thanks for posting this movie. I've been waiting 55 years to see it again. Jack

always did play good evil parts.

  • Aunt Bea, Lassie, and Jack the Ripper...all in one movie!

Thanks for this little Gem. Love Palance, he always makes for a great villain.

  • Exact same music used in the 1944 version of JTR called The Lodger starring Laird Cregar and Merle Oberon, Great movie. Never saw this one but looks good, thanks for posting!
