Sometimes you have a job then can only be done by so many people, all the paperwork has to be filled out exact, so you might have one person per room to do all the paperwork for that. other people doing anything while their working isn't helping. But they are supposed to be there. I've worked jobs like that to where you got 50 people for a ten man job, so 40 people are gonna occupy themselves doing something fun, and hopefully are nice enough to switch with people working.

I like the headline "Wii have you surrounded!" LOL Even though the guy is a low-life drug dealer, does that give the cops the right to play his video game system? I'm sure that wasn't on the search warrant. Check the Wii for fun games :)

Did those cops make around $28/hour? With how much people say law enforcement is underpaid (it may have to do with risk, but not going to go there now), $28/hour seems like it's a pretty good chunk of change.

They don't just count salary. It's how much it cost to have those 16 cops out for a day. Salary, benefits, cars, gas, electricity, etc etc.

Well what if they weren't super busy at the time anyway? I mean if they were ignoring calls to work on other scenes, and just wanted to play videos games, then I can see it as "wasting tax payer money", but if they didn't actually have anything better to do at the time, wouldn't it then be a "waste of tax payer money" to use more gas to go back to the station, just to sit around doing nothing and waiting for calls?

I think this serves as an example of what cops do when they're goofing off/having down time at work.
Yet they were in there for 9 hours. Part of me thinks this is bullshit. And I'm pissed if they were ignoring orders. But, what do you expect? I mean, they overuse their tazors. Fucking police. I don't have a lot of respect for them.

I'm fine with not bothering police, or any other generally hard-working individuals, for taking time to relax. What I'm concerned about here is the disrespect to the man's property. I guess I just don't know the limits of a search warrant. Are cops allowed to make use of a searchable property however they want to? Don't they have to restrict their use of the property to their job? I would have no problem if they had brought their own Wii or DS, etc., I guess I'm saying.

Give them a break.I just watched this video and I am at work!!!It probably relieves some of the stress police officers face every time they raid a drug house or a crack shack not knowing if they are going to get shot or have their nuts crunched by a crack heads pitt bull.They will get suspended a few days with pay and it will all blow over.

here's a libertarian take on it Cenk. If they are busting a drug dealer with my tax dollars, they are wasting my money anyway. if it takes longer than its worse, then again I've seen drug warrants served and they usually stand around and talk and look important while twelve squad cars are parked outside.
