Their music is the perfect expression of the Pacific Northwest. No other band, grunge or not, ever managed to represent that spirit better than the Trees. Try driving around Oregon, Washington State, or BC with them playing in your stereo, and you'll know what I mean. Wanna read a book that goes well with all that? "Sometimes a Great Notion", by Ken Kesey.
Sebbene segua la scena di Seattle da più di 10 anni, solo negli ultimi tempi sto seriamente ascoltando lanegan ed i screaming trees.... dio solo sa quanto li stia amando
I picked this album up the other day and I love it! I agree with PolarisTZA, they should have been bigger. I loved the song Lanegan did with The Queens Of The Stone Age. If it had not been for that song I would not have discovered this wonderful band.
wasn't this a Who riff on Live @Leed's? of course it was. And Zeppelin tells you a few things about Robert Johnson. there is texture in the absurd. so original indeed.
@shaunjhust no theyre rock, but people labeled them as grunge because they came out of seattle during the 90s grunge era. most bands from that time didnt like to be labeled as grunge. its just a way to make a trend out of something for selling purposes. i mean that shit got so lame that there was fashion shows in the theme of grunge. its like because its cool maybe we can sell a flennel shirt for 50$. see what i mean?
There were so many great bands from Seattle, I seen these boys open for Alice in Chains. They blew them away, nothing against them but they were the best.
there was talk shortly after Cobain died about Mark Lanegan singing material Cobain left behind with the rest of Nirvana. Krist and Dave were pushing for that and it was blocked by guess who?
that's why you've likely never heard anything about it. that would've been something really special. i heard it on some podcast where Foo Fighters were doin some Courtney bashing.
I do really like this song, I reflect on it like it's something that makes to me as of right now and whats going on with my girlfriend. The nme of their band even sounds harder than they are and Nirvana is hard but has soft elements, poppish if u must. Nirvana was like the Beatles in that they were popular but they also offered something a little harder say for instance Beatles Love me do to Helter Skelter and Nirvana Drain You to Tourettes
Since you liked it, i suggest you to search other songs by Screaming Trees and by Mark Lanegan (the singer) too. He changed the genre of his music, now he plays more blues or folk but his voice is still great.
yea its pretty gnarly i love the trees and queens but mark lanegans stuff is so awesome i just love his voice its just like rough like hes smoked to many cigaretes in his life
its funny how that their hit is called no one knows and one of queens of the stonage first singles was no one knows and mark lanegan went to play with them from time to time
Great song, but Youtube has confused me. Why the hell is the top video under related videos "More Fun Time w/ Jonas". Irrelevant observation but I got bored watching just the album art while listening to this :P
Wow! I went to high school in the early to mid 90's and i really did miss this band. I remember the single nearly lost you though. Well, that's cool, gives me the chance to discover a good band.
I love the Trees and this album in particular but Butterfly gets my vote as the best tune of theirs, or maybe Alice Said, ah hell, they're all awesome! Miss em!!!!
dont care about the ratings of the people... people sucks man... and i know that lanegan doesnt give a f... about the mainstream and all that crap.... is people that miss listening to them not the opposite....
I disagree they are as big as we want them to be they can only be so big to the world but in your heart they can be the biggest band that ever walked on the face of the earth
remember the little Prince/Saint-Antoine-Exupéry and you know that you can see the main things only with your heart. That's all which counts. Whatever band you mean.
babyyou09- ur retarded man.. lol.. Layne Staley was the lead singer for Alice in Chains, not screaming trees...Mark Lanegan is the singer for this band..lol

- There aren't so much comments in spanish.
- Even if all comments would be in spanish, where is the problem?
- Feel free to don't read them.
- Outside USA not everyone speaks english. And USA is not the world and the rest of the world.
But now, please, go on with smart questions.
