  • ill get him for 40$

  • how big is he by now?

  • it is so cool you rock

  • omg that room is filthy poor nile

  • how much

  • OOOPPPSSS! I sent you the info not realizing that you posted 3 years ago! Hopefully,by now, the lizard hasn't bitten off your fingers! Sorry.

  • To continue from last post, When I need to handle my Nile, For my safety and the lizard's, I wear a thick long-sleeve shirt and gloves. For the record: after 12 years, I've never been bitten by Gojira (yet). That's because you have to treat these animals with the utmost caution and respect! Even when they are "tame". Remember, Niles are Agile,Quick,Strong and Smart. Most of them are very aggressive and DON"T LIKE BEING HANDLED! 1 more item: Your Nile is not an A-ho, he's just a Nile.

  • I've had my Common Nile Monitor for more than 12 years now. His name is GOJIRA, and NO, he is NOT tame.He is nearly 5 feet long and is VERY powerful. I don't handle him very often, except when I have to clean his tank. What I do is: I use a large beach towel to put over him, then I carefully grab him just in front of his shoulders with one hand, and the base of his tail just behind his back legs with the other hand and lift ( with him trapped in the towel). Then I place him in an extra tank.

  • He probably needs a little more time to get use to his new surroundings (before he starts eating). You've only had him a week. Offer him more than just crickets, like mouse pinkies, super mealworms and green horn worms (bought from a pet shop). I hope you have the right kind of lighting for him, because that is key to his appetite and digestion of food. Niles are very hardy feeders and you should have no problems getting him to eat.

  • I hope that you realize that Niles are very difficult to tame( but not impossible). If you think its bite is bad now, wait until he is 3 feet or more. It would be VERY wise to invest in elbow-length leather gloves before it gets larger. His claws work different than other kinds of lizards. Not only will they dig in, but they can squeeze like a bird of prey talons or a cat's. Their flexibility with their legs is amazing, too. More info in next post.

  • "diss the asshole that bit me"

you already mad only a week of having the lizard. that thing is probably dead by now

  • nice baby Nile check out my two Niles

  • I just got mine today and i havnt been bitten yet. Although the whip too the face wasnt nice. Same size as yours Ive already got mine to trust me souly by spendin an hour at a time, twice today in the bathroom where he cant hide or get away, crawling on me, builds trust, try not to pick him up unles u have to whn ur in their, as he will feel more secure runnin on you. but remember they can squeeze into the smallest places!

  • hey man i had the same problem with my nile give him meal worms also hide the food in a dish half under his hideso he can stay hidden that should work

  • DA ASSHOLE DAT BiT ME

    LOL

  • you rom is a freaken mess

  • yeah i did like a month of reasearching b4 i got mine

i bought a almost full sized encloers 4 him b4 i even bought the lizard

which is 8ft by 3ft by 2ft which should hold him until i can build my own encloser

but u need 2 hold him as much as possible

and he is going 2 grow really really fast

he should b full grown within 2 or 3 years

get him used 2 ur smell and if hes pissed off let him cool off then try again later he will c that ur not a threat 2 him and make shur u buy calicum and pinky

  • how much do nile monitors cost ?

  • about as much as savs. 30-50$ dont be brought in but the cheap cost though. do tons of research before/if you get one. i mean like months of research. talk to breeders and get their advice. go on forums and ask questions. good luck

  • @jgilly1994 dipends on were you get them i got mine for 20$ but i saw the most to be 210$

  • my sav wont eat shit man, im worried about him. so i dont know what to do about it

  • what kind of light do u have on em

  • lol, that comment was a long time ago, he eats fine now, he was just warmin up to his new surroundings. hes alright now

  • yeah do research b4 u get a reptile

  • You're a dumb fuck. Why the fuck would you get a lizard not knowing what the fuck to do with it or even know its temperament. You sound like a fucking stupid ass fucking mexican who knows more about burritos then reptiles. Stick to the fuckin burritos people like you in the reptile community make me sick. Get knowledge then get your reptile fucktard.

  • u saved me the trouble of typing all that lol thx

  • Im betting its dead.

  • ok thats why nile monitors are for experienced handlers you should start with something easyer like a bearded dragon niles are one of the last ones you should get oh and you see how he is small enough to fit in your hand well he will be bigger then you up to 7ft good luck oh and when hes to much to handle plz make sure he goes to a good home and not out in the nieborhood

  • where did you get him

  • i really dont think you've done enough research before getting one...

  • clean your room beaner!!!!

  • @scare2in betcha $20 you wouldnt say that in downtown la

  • nice lizard but at the back your room is so messy

  • yeah those things are dangerous when they get big...I suggest you take it to a zoo or something.

  • hes cool nice vid

  • He is a beautiful Nile, looks ornate, but I can't see his bandings. With proper knowledge he can be a great pet.Without it,they can become a menace that you must donate to a petshop or zoo, due to over zealous buyers, unaware of what they have gotten themselves into, there is not much room for them anymore and they are released into the wild (wooded areas),where they either parish or become an invasive species.Albert Wesker, my sons nile,is tame.(he is also right above hatchling status at 4mons old)

  • Give him soft boiled eggs and premium canned seafood catfood dusted with vitamins.Order the canned crickets. Live food just encourages their natural ravenous behavior.I have domesticated/raised many reptiles and none of them are headshy nor skiddish.Spend a minimum of an hour a day with flesh to flesh contact.(handlers gloves confuse them)Niles are not the best choice for a starter reptile, if he continues with this behavior, consider getting a savanah monitor instead. They are much more docile.

  • There is a great book you can order for about 6 dollars and it will help you tremendously, Nile Monitor by Robert J. Faust. He is a key expert, (as is his daughter) especially in the handling and raising to domesticate Niles (Both Ornate and Common). If you are serious about owning him, buy the book. He will get big and ravenous in a blink of an eye. Again, Good luck to you & Keep 1st aide kit handy and watch your toes. Worse than their bite is their tail lash when they get older. Get the book.

  • I hope u have room for it when it grws up

  • forget about pinkies, no calcium, feed insects until he can take fuzzies, taming it will just take alot of patience and time, spend abou 15 mins with him erry dai, and if he gets fed up just put him back and try again the nex daii...

  • exactly and when he can eat fuzzies be prepared to make a new enclosure cause that son of a bitch is gonna grow fast when it gets to fuzzies well ima feed my water monitor fuzzies and hissers just bought 250 1" crikets

  • yup, once feeding is good and proper next you thing u know u got your self a monster.

  • hey tarazz wuts up u should make an update on ur nile

  • is it still alive?

  • try feeding ,cat food ,gold fish or baby mice.Let the lizard hang out on your shoulder for a couple hours a day.

  • yo, also try little baby mice.

  • sorry how much did you pay for it. really want one

  • how much did you oa for it

  • prepare to give up a large portion of your house

  • Prepare for a 7ft Monitor!

  • j/k cool lizard

  • hehe that was a joke to i saw it off a movie

  • jerillsgangsta ur moms a slut with a wide gaped vagina

  • oh yeah crash art skillz before you say anything vulger or rude to me i will say that if your monitors are skittish you must be trying to be dominant. try his terms more. all im trying to say is KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

  • ok i said feed every day when juvenile on the original but it "will" cost more to feed when older

  • Good stuff! I just got one two days ago as well. I need to try and tame him though, cause' mine bit me as well (Drew Blood)...Overall great buy on my part...

  • wassabiwizard you have it backwards you feed them alot when thyre younger so they grow then slow down feeding

  • dude ackie arnt lazing and there more active than bearded dragons i have to beardies and an ackie monitor and my ackie is awsome and there not skittish and by what ur saying ur talking about a timor monitor

  • $100-250 and ackies, which are the BEST monitors around look it up on any site, they are cute, small, and very fun. if you were to get a trio think mini komodo that is really "tamer" then bearded dragons with more personality. 16-32" long $250-375 a per but think they eat a lot less and need less then a lot of monitors very hardy Thanks for reading.

  • ackies are like savannahs and black throats there very lazy and boring and they are not tamer then beardeds thats a bo face lie!I bread bearded dragons and probably got bit 1 out of 700 of them, that happening with a ackie is impossible they are very skittish!

  • the nile is the cheapest 2nd lagest and most defensive monitor on the market only losing to the water monitor. the best 2 monitors out there are black throat, beautiful and easily used to you when you are around. 5-6' long.

  • 3) niles are huge defensive lizards they can become used to you with age but not easily tamed there is a difference. tame is your terms. being used to you is his terms. think real fast tame is if will never deliberatly harm you

  • if i hadn't said it yet get garden gloves because as a adult it can give nasty scratches even on accident deep emergency room scratches. make sure they are smooth, another reason for gloves it hide the smell and heat of your hands. feed your nile with grill tongs as an adult.

  • For now look up a Rete's Stack and make one

juvies need a mixing bowl sized pool or a bath 2 times a week NOT steaming hot water! 6"-8" of dirt, Regular NOT BAGGED! and yes feed everyday as juvi. fuzzy's are normally prefered for nutrition if you look.

As an adult make the dirt 2 feet deep

  • 2)It would be a lot better to build the adult cage now to prevent stress. Xsureno if you are in an apartment you propably won't be able to provide their adult cage which is 4' tall by 6' deep by 12' wide of sturdy material, AKA not cheap plywood.

  • Hey,Crash art skillz guy niles are suppose to get to 7 feet and and he said as a juvi. Xsureno

    several things

    1) you should feed them alot when older, should cost $100+ minimum to feed an adult. That is if it is not an ornate nile which is what that looks like. Ornates are way more often sold then regulars because of their beauty and size. Then $150+ a month. w/o other needs. No Treats Rat turkey meal fish Done

  • 1) Of course it bit you its a Nile!!! A lot more where that same from

    2) Feed it MICE not crickets, that thing is gonna get big and it needs a lilttle bit more than tiny bugs to keep it going!

    3) It wont eat everyday, but 2 or 3 times a week

    4) Try learning about an animal before you buy it!!!

  • both my monitors dont eat crickets, just pinkies

  • very hard to tame. must have a lot of patience and time to devote... sometimes they become tame with age. nasty suckers when theyre young

  • i have been raising a baby nile. u shouldnt feed them anything for the 1st 2 weeks in their new habitat... then try pinkies. mine loves pinkies. 2 at a time twice a week. good luck

  • lol if your trying to tame the Nile i dont suggest your feed it pinkies...

  • Howcome? ;S I hope to get one..

  • hey sorry xsureno, my last post was meant for another vid. I apologize, your little nile looks like he's doing good.

  • Ass they dont need to eat everyday!

  • Hey dumbass, a healthy baby nile monitor with the proper temps, will eat everyday, PERIOD. I'm sorry if your nile doesn't have the proper temps to properly digest his food. Have you ever tried to feed it everyday? or did you just ASSUME that they don't need food everyday? You fucking idiot, study your shit, before you speak fool.

  • eat a dick!

  • I told you to study your shit before you speak. Shut your mouth before you embarrass yourself any further. You DID NOT make any sort of effort to prove me wrong, making me think you're oblivious on how to properly take care of a monitor. You did not state any facts, reasons, or information to back up your statement. I hate it when idiots like you, try to give people false advice. Your such a loser, and you're better off keeping your mouth shut. LOL.

  • My monitor is 3ft 1/2 looks great I always fed him 4 times of the week sometimes 3 and he grew fine and is huge,so what you say is not fact it's merely bullshit GEEK!

  • fruit boy over here thinks hes tuff... chump take ur head out of ur ass... kid u talk like u know somthen... stop tryna b tuff online.. ur wack lol calm down ur gettn too gully ur one of those kids who jerk off all day with palmela handerson an play with gigabites fukn nerd shut up b1tch fukn herb ass

  • You don't lose heat from a glass tank, you lose humidity from the screen top. Your substrate is astro turf, which doesn't hold ANY moisture. Your cage is hot and super dry. You only feed them 2-3 times a week, when you should be feeding EVERYDAY. Correct your husbandry before the other one dies.

  • You do not have to feed Nile Monitors every day!

  • You SHOULD feed a BABY monitor everyday. They shit everyday, so why shouldn't you feed them everyday??? They have very fast metabolisms, if given proper temps. I feed mine everyday until he gets full, and by the next mourning, he's always hungry for more. They digest their food too quick, for 2-3 feedings a week. I am talking about a BABY monitor, not an adult. My previous comment wasn't even meant for this vid, as I stated above.

    Se7en,

  • Ass they dont need to eat everyday!

  • Don't give useless advice if you have no idea what you're talking about, noob. I hate people like you.

  • If you can't get him to eat his crickets feed him rat pups, you can also feed him hoppers but rat pups are healthier for him.

  • your not ready for that nile monitor!

  • i have a clouded monitor. but i'm not sure if it is a clouded or a nile monitor. it looks just like that except without the black line near on its face at the eye...

  • Great lizard man, I got me a savvy. great pets, and to the fucker cracalaca or whatever, fuck you, my dads from Mexico and hes more of a man then you will ever be.

  • ill stick my cock in your beaner mouth.....now go make me some nachos, mow the lawn and build me a guest house......

  • sooner or later you will HAVE to build or buy a bigger enclosure niles get very large and very mean so be prepared.

  • i have useful info....get a huge fuckin tank; niles get very large. people often buy them because they look so "cute" when they're juvienials sitting there in the pet store. just want to let yopu know what you're getting yourself into. be prepared.

  • yeah i bought him a 60 gal tank... is that big enough for him??? its huge for him

  • 60 gal is ok..for now, maybe for a few years

  • GOOD FOR A FEW YEARS??? ARE YOU INSANE??? My savy is 5 months old, and he is 13in long. A nile monitor should reach 2ft by the first year, with PROPER husbandry. At the moment, my savy is in a 55 gallon tank, but I'm going to soon build a 3x4x8 cage, using a 3x2x8 stock tank as the base. You should definately think MONTHS ahead, they grow extremly FAST.

    Se7en,

  • yeah right, i was thinking about my sav. not a nile

  • @Xsureno3ESSJ fuck no thats not big enouf lol i have my baby in a 55 right now and thats just a holding tank i just built one out of wood that 7ft x3ft and i have that until he grows out of that

  • no its just that im a beaner haha... and fuck u.

  • @Xsureno3ESSJ i'm just curious, how big is your monitor now? i almost bought a an Argentinian Tegu awhile ago.

  • Just by hearing your voice are you mentally retarded?

  • and oh yeah when i made this video i only had him for 2 days so stfu haterz!!

  • hahahahha i aint no asshole man... my gurl actually wanted one so i got it... and aint no asshole bcuz if i was i wouldnt be on here askin for info and learning about the monitor... i would just not givea fuck and watch it die... so fuck u smokinkingrex... damn lil kids think they know it all. to the rest of u thanks for the information

  • see u da ass hole that shouldnt have a monitor couse u dont know shit about it

  • mine looks like that

  • keep them hot food every day while young and 15 20 min. handling when not feeding is good

  • He looks a little on the slim side, I couldn't really understand you, did you say that he was or wasn't eating???...I agree with these other guys on here they need alot of heat, my basking spot is about 120-140 and I actually have a humidifier IN my niles enclosure...beware that once he starts eating good, becoming more active, and gets used to his new living arrangements, his attitude WILL change, try not to restrict his movement when handling him

  • force feed that mofo not to mention the need constant heat to even feel comfortable to the the point to where they want to eat. get a goldfish tank and let it swim up in there every once in awhile plus it should have it's own swimming pool in the enclosure, pool on one side heat lamp on other. Oh yeah and it is necessary to clean and refill the pool frequently because this is also his drinking source and TOILET AND FEED FEED FEED the FUCK out of him crix, roaches, rodents, eggs(when bigger)

  • i kinda agree there, but you really dont sound like an expert.xsureno take advise from this website repticzonedotcom(monitors forums)

  • forget the monitor forum "expert's" bullshit. All they really need is 1 heat..heat..heat. 2 (mice,fish)food..3 water..and 4 humidity. And take it to get some sun every once in a while and it will grow up to be 4 feet long like mine. Now I keep it outside on my yard on a reptile leash.
