  • weird trailer. if i hadn't looked up the plot on wiki beforehand i still wouldn't know what the hell this movie's about. lol.

  • I searched "Stanley Claridge": the merseyside pedophile who abused countless children and who was finally convicted thanks to former victim Shy Keenan who bravely went to his house wearing a hidden camera and made him talk of his crimes; AND THIS VID CAME UP ON RESULTS!!! Get it through your head people, movies like these enables pedophiles, search Shy Keenan and watch documentary.

  • thegal: To distinguish aBused from aMused ( which I was as a NON-victim at 13 with a 29 year old) this complex issue can't be defined by junk-media extreme cases for profit not protection. Checkout serious academics like Miranda Sawyer ' ' Sex Before 16, Why the Law is Failing ' ' and Judith Levine ' ' Harmful To Minors, The Perils Of Protecting Children From Sex ' '. As always, there are far more kids aMused than aBused which control-freaks don't want the masses and morons to know about.

  • Yes in fairness, lolita was not prepubescent, so not

pedophilia. However a child being pubescent doesn´t

mean ready for sex, emotionally or biologically. And

the sources you cite doesn´t support what your 29-year

old sexual partner did as far as I can tell. I agree

with them as far as the negative impacts of to little

sex-education and smutty culture on childrens development.

That children between 14-18 should be restricted to having

sex with members of their peergroup,

  • continuing: penetrative sex

discouraged by making sure they understand the harmful effects it can have, with condom ( regarding anal )

    and without condom, is reasonable.

So newsnight bbc who did the investigation into the abuse of Shy Keenan is junkmedia, but channel 4 who did the series which cover work by M.Sawyer isn´t?

Thanks to newsnight, Claridge, who was still abusing children in the neighbourhood was brought to justice.

    How is this not protection?

  • contin:The masses and morons

you are refering to include parents, many of who like to hear both sides of the debate but are also the ones who know their children better than any other

adult around. Shy was abused between age 3-14 by Stanley and he also sold her to other pedophiles. The only reason I see to why this vid came up when I searched "Stanley Claridge"

is that name has been used as a tag for it. Is there another Stanley Clarenbridge involved in production of the movie or book?

  • @thegalwegian I'm waaay too tired to make you look like an idiot right now.

However, I'm confident that you did a pretty good job of that yourself.

  • And I am confident that you are not tired, you are just scared that whatever refutations you have will be critically examined and refuted by yours truly.

    So bring it on.

  • Great movie. Though I had to admit. James Mason, Shelly Winters. May they RIP.

  • As a past Non-victim/Adultophile (me 13 she 29) what foul evil regime says that anyone can't explore their own body & mind, alone or with whom they choose ?

  • The same evil regime that says you can't drive until you're 16 and can't drink until you're 21.

Anyway a 29 year old who sleeps with a 13 year old is sick. Period.

  • A true Masterpiece! Brilliant. More fun than snake Charmer wrangling in a Cobra. I give it 4 stars and a wet towel

  • How did they ever make a movie of Lolita? Raise her age two years!

  • poor

  • i'm surprised to find sue lyon was only 14 when she starred in this film; she looks much older, which seems to take away from the film.

  • i dont think it takes away, i think it makes it all the more creepy

  • i had dismissed the original film based on still images i saw, but i'll have to check it out. i'm sure it's much better than i assumed it to be.

  • It's the whole definition of a "nymph". She seems to fit it. Look it up.

  • This is such a brilliant film and book. I hate how it is exploited by peadophile sympathists to justify their lust. Anyone who tries to defend Humbert obviously has not read the book, or has misunderstood it, because it was quite clear that her was meant to portrayed as a pervert.

  • I heard a lot about this movie, and the book it was based on. Apparently, they were revolutionary in that they were the first media depictions of a young woman guilty of seducing an older man (while usually it was the older man seducing the girl, as a pedophile).

  • Never seen this trailer despite being 1 of Kubrick's biggest fans. His work has influenced me time & time again. If he had anything to do with editing this one, it has a similar rapid fire psychosis like the "Clockwork Orange" trailer, "2001", "Barry Lyndon" & "Eyes Wide Shut". Seems he didn't prefer utilizing too much dialogue from the film but instead opted for primarily visuals. There is strong music in his trailers, a voice over soundtrack announcer & montage editing. He is so missed!

  • Peter Sellers is fantasic in this

  • yes, he is great :)

  • Lolita!

  • I'd like to have a Lolita all for me...it's always my dream

  • Just keep in mind how the movie ends. This relationship was disastrous for both Humbert and Lolita.

  • I came, I saw, I conquered- Veni, vidi, vici.

  • Sure she's hot and does look and acts older, but technically Humbert is still a pedofil.=P Good movie though.

  • no, ephebophile, there is a big difference.

  • I find lolita movie is best movie

    Faiz Pakistan

  • You've led us to a porn site with this url.

  • cool movie

  • The music is by the late, great Nelson Riddle. Lolita's theme is by Bob Harris. I've loved the movie and soundtrack since first seeing it on the late show in 1979. Get the CD. It's got lots of great liner notes.

  • I find it silly and bizarre how there are voices going, "How did they ever make a movie of Lolita?" It's like...uh...They got a cast and crew and made a movie, maybe??

  • 'Coz of the controversial subject and the heavy censorship back then; Lolita's actress wasn't even allowed to see the premire of the film because of its content.

  • Ahh I get it.

  • who is the artist of the song

  • I luuv luuv luuv the music tis awesome!!!

  • I agree. Hey Steph, remember whem I was singing this and you didn't know what it was from? Hahaha good times...goooooooood times.

  • What is the title to the song?

  • I dunno.

If I did I would download it.

  • After I made the posting I looked it up...it's called "Lolita Ya Ya" and I could only find it off of the film soundtrack. I just might buy it.

  • I love the background music to this.

  • Genuis !

  • The thing I really didn't like about Kubrick's version is that everyone calls her 'Lolita' that was Humbert's name for her. Her name was Dolores. I know Nabokov wrote the script but it still bothers me.

  • Nabokov, didnt write the script, it was just credited to him for promotional purposes, it was actually Kubrick and some other guy who wrote it

  • Very nice film, but this version of the trailer is really poor in quality. And the volume? It's like... super low.

  • The movie is excellent, as is the book. I love Sue Lyon

  • I want to see this movie. Kubrick is an excellent director.

  • she's so beautiful

  • I believe, Sue Lyon later on appeared in Playboy.

  • Actually, no she did not (though I would not mind if she did).

  • No, that was a rumor. She never gained stardom and is now bitter about the film that supposedly ruined her personal life. She was only 13 when she filme "Lolita" and 15 when it finally premeired. Suffering from Bipolar disorder all her life, it perhaps explains her failed marriages and career.

  • Her life and films following Lolita intrigues me greatly. I read an interview with her in Cosmo before Lolita premiered, and she was encouraging her brother to get into acting. I'm paraphrasing here, but she told him that "Acting is easy, you just do what they tell you." That quote really sticks out at me after I began to really look into her life history (or as much of it as I can possibly find).

  • One of Kubricks best! love the song playing

  • I love the book and the two films fantastic!

  • Mm such a classic.

  • The movie is so great, but this trailer is very poor...

  • AGREE thank you
