Yes it is helium inside Mylar you twits. It isn't a revelation. They cost about $10. They are fun and they fly well with a little spin. They do move slowly across any room.
The name is a toy's name, don't take it as fact.
No-one is saying it's antigravity or anything else. Idiots.
Yes, it's filled a balloon filled with helium, yes, they slowed the video down, yes, some of you halfwits sitting in your mommy's basement stroking yourselves think it's lame, BIG DEAL! IT'S A TOY. They had fun making this video. I have one and my children (4 and 9 YO) love playing with it. They don't care about the physics (I'm a Philosophical Physics grad) they just have fun with it.
The secret to anti gravity is to completely separate yourself from the physical universe that you occupy because everything (including you) have a gravitational constant that affects EVERYTHING in this universe...meaning, Alpha Centauri, the closest start besides the sun, feels a gravitational pull from you. It is almost infinitesimally small, but it is a physics fact. So, keep your secret to yourself - it's probably wrong anyway.
a STAR lifts u up of the EARTH do you know how far away Alpha Centauri is?
close in space is a HUGE amount of distance for gravitational pull, the star would have to be immense and if it were that big it would pull planets out of our Solar System
Read what I said, it is almost infinitesimally small, but everything that has mass has it's own gravitational constant. Other stars, as well as our own star, don't lift you off the planet earth because Earths gravitational constant is much larger than those mentioned. Google "Gravitational Constant" and you'll have a plethora of information that will explain what I just said. Alpha Centauri is ~ 4.365 ± 0.007 light years away, to answer your question.
...and I wasn't talking about the balloon, I was responding to the comment by Matthewwp56 and his anti gravity secret.
I think the word "idiot" was used? Maybe a class in remedial reading would benefit you. I'd also try researching a topic before you comment on something because it is a "stupid thing you have ever heard" - so, I guess because you don't know something makes it wrong??
I would hope so - I don't often just make outrageous claims or statements like that without digging into the material I have learned in college or researching the subject first. The gravitational force between two objects is F1=F2=(G*m1*m2)/r^2 where G=6.67438 (+/-) .00067 x 10^-11 m^3/(kg * s^2). You can that a longer distance (r) between two objects, the more the gravitational pull is reduced...which is why the moon doesn't lift people off earth - but the moon does change the tide.
lol hah there are no tricks people, i have one of these, its a foil toy you fill with helium and you throw it, it goes really high, they just found the perfect balance of helium and just air to make it float like that, kinda like a worn out helium balloon.
the baloon has a certin amount of helium in it so that in most pressures the baloon slightly falls but in this video there is not enough time in between clips to see this
The new science developed as a result of the early anti-gravity kind of accidentally makes him right, almost. lol. But I stress that it's accidental. Anyone with an IQ high enough to begin to understand the anti-gravity research knows that you can't have a 'nothing' field; you can only creat one force that opposes or compliments another force. The best you can hope for is to balance an object between two gravity wells or counter one well with a gravity hill.
Nope. An anti-gravity field would have an area of zero gravity no matter what the surrounding gravetic fields of gravimetric waves are doing. That's never the case. It's like sitting quietly and deciding that the room must be soundproof because you can't hear anything. No movement doesn't mean anti-gravity any more than a hot air balloon floating means that is has zero weight. It may not tip a scale any more but it still weighs the same as it did before it was filled.
but then you need to remember that helium is a fluid that has zero gravity when cooled too absolute zero- not lighter than air- but 'no gravity' helium is something to consider when dealing with anti gravity, just because the gas is common don't, think of the probabilities of the liquid
And one of the worlds most successful business men of all time woulden't wear Jeans and a turtle neck to work ... Hmmm steve jobs. It's fake i know, but who cares what clothes people wear...
i had a balloon like that once myself.. and at one point the helium started to lose its umph... so the thing just basically sat in the middle of the room, height wise.. it was. nice try guys..
!i did a 20 ft wireless energy transfer which is key to showing how nikola teslas wireless energy system works! this system would give thousand miles range of energy for everyone to obtain like a radio but with industrial power being tranfered! please watch and spread! wirleess power now, maybe electrostatic antigravity next!
Hydrogen is the lightest gas, made up of 1 proton and 1 electron. Helium is made up of a pair of protons, pair of neutrons and 2 electrons. I wish Hydrogen would lift 10 times more than Helium, as it would have many more uses than it does now, but it remains as 10%, sorry.. :)
I made something better than this one time. A mylar balloon filled with helium, partially deflated with the string cut off can be made to be neutrally buoyant. By adding weights on several ends of the balloon, it was possible to make it hover still upside down, sideways, or diagonally. I let it go when the ceiling fan in my room was operating and to my surprise it took the punishment. It would circulate with the air by rising up, being pulled toward the fan, and smack downed only to rise again.
I suppose you could call it anti-gravity. As it does defy gravity, as long as the atmosphere outside the disc is less dense than what fills the frisbee.
Are you kidding me? i had something similar to this when i was about 10. im now 27. All it was was a thin metal sheet (similar to aluminum foil, but thinner) in the shape of a tube,. All you had to do was blow air into it, seal it with a bit of water and the sun would heat the air inside. Anyone ever heard of a hot air baloon? exactly the same thing.
The real question is if it works in vacuum. It looks to me that it is using the air as a form of propulsion. It could also have a mixture of gases (like helium) that could make it more boyant.

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we love flying?
(2) Why do we enjoy to pilot airships?
(3) How does the enjoyment to fly on an airship differ from that to fly on an aeroplane?
(4) Why do we want to design and to build new airships in this "jet age"?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

By the time you finish enclosing the whole universe, they will have long ago invented UFO's that fly outside... duh

Helium is lighter than the contents of our atmosphere, but with insufficient helium, the disc experiences zero g.
If the force of the helium is pushing it up with the same strength as gravity is pushing it downwards, then it just simply floats.
caHarkness 2 years ago
Helium much?Come on,you could just weld some shiny plastic together and fill it with helium and you've got this.
FloppyClawsXanaxal 2 years ago 2
now you genius, because helium is lighter than air so it would rise up into the air.
klauwn17 2 years ago
no. if that where the case it would rise like a balloon

Yes, you two. It would work. Helium is lighter than air, shiny plastic is heavier. That's what we call neutral buoyancy. Thanks for playing.

helium and hydrogen are simply lighter than air so float to the top, just like steek in molten lead (now that's weird to see!)
