  • Wow....first off if your bike breaks down in the middle of the ride... your fucked period!..And having to carry an extra 10-15 gallons of gas to make it home alive from a ride kinda scares the SHIT outta me....lol.....in the beginning of the video the music and the traffic signs made it seem like someone was gonna die im feeling like this is the Bermuda Triangle just on land....i would try it in a group ride thou....

  • out of fairness I guess I have to put things right: those truck drivers were doing their job and had to put up with two crazy motorcycle drivers! In this they were very friendly, supportive and helpful and I would like to use the opportunity to say THANK YOU to each one of them!

  • When that truck came flying past at 60 mph towards you, I was thinking "Oh F*ck they're dead", Not only did you drive in -35C you put up with crazy truck drivers as well which is just a feat of strengh in my eyes, Well Done.

  • no kidding... wow... first time I see some one going on a trip in the winter... ouch.... congrats guys!

  • I know why Sir Edmond Hillary climbed Mount Everest, but I still have to ask - "Why?"...

I love riding as much, if not more than anyone I know, but riding to Alaska in the winter is oin the same level as dragging a cooler full of scrap meat throught the wilderness of Yellowstone.. eventually something's going to bite you...

Oh, and I love the spaghetti western theme music.. I kept expecting Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef to pop up in the next scene...

  • After seeing this video, I now realize that I'm nothing more than one ginormous pussy! 40 degrees and raining and I'm reluctant to drive to Bloomington, Indiana from Pittsburgh, which is honestly just about a 7 hour run These guys would do that in shorts! Unbelievable! I quit...

  • amazing work guys :)

  • tremenda experiencia de vida..

  • Wow, it's my dream

  • It's good to see that Plan-B sticker still on that sign.

  • why is there so much truck traffic?

  • @spectrum10 They only have so many months out of the year, when everything is frozen, to move supplies to the oil rigs and isolated villages. Some villages have no roads in or out, except when the rivers and tributaries freeze, allowing trucks to haul in all the freight the village will need for the entire year. Or at least, until the makeshift ice road refreezes and allows them to return.

  • Nice video when did you do this trip? Would love to do the same route when i get my KLR.

  • We started in Key West Florida on January 13th and arrived in Prudhoe Bay on March 2nd in 2009. It was a great experience and I wish you good luck with your KLR - don't forget to take some warm clothes, it gets pretty cold up North ... ;-)

  • very cool, when i was about 15 or so Mom and i took a trip to Juneau all it did was rain...but i loved it and would like to go back hopefully on a bike :)

  • Where did the hard case luggage come from for the R1? I have a CBR1000RR and can't find anything other than soft saddles and tailbags.

  • great vid!

  • An R1???!?! I am seriously thinking about riding up my 2005 Gixxer 600 to Anchorage from Bellingham for when i work there, any tips?

  • If you ask me, I think you should go for it. There might be moments along the way where you regret the decision, e.g. because of a sore bottom or bad weather. But I am sure the total experience will be a lifetime memory. Just take it easy and plan enough time. Wishing you a good trip, Doris

P.S. Sjaak is using a tankbag to lean onto and relax his arms every once in a while.

  • no way, not for me. I like snow but That just looks to cold for me.

  • How can anyone say anything but BRAVO!

  • no no no.... not in snow with a R1...!!

  • I know! But thats what everyone says to him He has ridden so much he doesnt care anymore
