  • Amen! Please share and spread the word.

  • Don't walk into a restaurant with less than five dollars to tip your server. I don't care if your tab is 7 dollars or 20. Most waitstaff are paid 2.13/hour, and don't receive much of a paycheck (I typically get a 30 dollar paycheck every two weeks) due to taxes on reported tips, as well as taxes on the hourly wage being subtracted from said paycheck.

  • 15% at the local diner

20% for a "better," middle-of-the road restaurant, as was demonstrated here.

25% for "fine dining" which I've only done once in my life.

Also, if your party is larger than four people, tip an extra 5% in all circumstances.

I also tip a little more if there is left-over food that the waiter wraps up for me.

Here's another "tip." Sometimes the waiter gives me FREE stuff like a soda or something; in this case I also give him half of what it would cost from the menu.

  • Agreed :) However, I'm a waitress and we get paid $2.13 an hour. Be nice!

  • @elphabafrost Yikes! Minimum wage is LOW where you be. Help her out, ya'll!

  • LOL is that a WAND you are using!? Also you are still so very handsome, hehe.

  • @Tuicanis Sure is! And thank you!
