  • Almost as bad as the Pcworld advert!

  • He didn't even buy anything.

  • the stuff seems actually very expensive now . . considering it is 25 years ago!

  • Brill! I'll just pop down to Quinnsworth now and- Oh crap they've been taken over by a rubbish, British supermarket chain.

  • don't delete!

  • I had the telephone (same one as toy story haha) and the fisher price activity centre :)

  • @queenavril89 me too, i had the chatterphone, and every doctors surgery waiting room i was ever in as a kid had the activity centre; usually covered in bite-marks and saliva.

  • Surprised Lucasfilm didn't sue Quinnsworth's ass over this. Doubt if Maurice got clearance to have Lord Vader shill chatter telephones.

  • Yes , fuck tesco. Quinnsworth is where its at.Look the ad is set in the future..

  • How does darth vader know what teleport is

  • I've still got that era's edition of Monopoly. Classic.

  • Uh, that's bad. Still way better than episode 1 though...

  • i have most of those toys from when i was a kid :) i miss those prices!

  • How did Darth Vader know what Luke was getting him for Crimbo?

    He felt his presents.

  • lol good one

  • Oh wait. I DO have that speeder bike! Sweet.

  • Ha! Quinnsworth. By Jove do i remember that place! I want the star wars toys! =D

    oh and ha, pratt.

  • All of those toys seemed incredibly expensive! Not much cheaper than today's prices.

  • The Chatter Telephone! I remember its eyes especially.

  • 9 notes for monopoly?

    Thats pretty reasonable!

  • i remember my self and the brother getting the atari video game for xmas that year

  • Maurice Pratt...what an apt surname,lol

  • I got the Evil Knevil stunt cycle from Santy that year...don't feel too bad now seeing as it would have only cost the auld pair £14.99.

  • Evil Kunt?

  • Holy shit, Maurice Pratt....... IS Luke Skywalker!!!!

  • 49 pounds for Barbie's gaf? Shockin!!!

  • anyone have any other quinnsworth ads from around that time!

  • £113 for this, my god thats very expensive altogether, i wont be shopping there anytime soon

  • how's she cuttin' darth!?

  • Prices still the same

  • i had 2 of those phones when i was young lol. idk why now they dont seem like fun

  • haha, i had that phone, happy days!!!

  • I think that phone was standard 80s toy. Everyone seems to have had it : )

  • Maurice Pratt is a director in my job lol

  • I was thinking too - how expensive for the times

  • oh my god i have the fisher proce set and the phone.

santa must of had a deal on with quinsworth in wicklow that year!!

  • Certainly Darth.Yeah-yeah-YEEEAAAH!

  • maurice pratt you mad gowl

  • He should never have sold out to those Tesco wankers

  • He didn't. Quinnsworth were owned by Power Supplies Ltd who in turn were owned by Associated (or Amalgamated?) British Foods who did the sell out. Much of the board of management in Quinnsworth didn't even know it was happening until it was done (and several were let go either then or soon after in a bloodless purge).

  • Howya, "dart"! How the mighty are fallen eh? You can almost hear him thinking "why must I have to do this shit"?

  • What an advert!

  • 4.99 was dear

  • £113 for an atari = €143...would easily get you a PSP now.

    Unbelievably expensive for 1984!!

  • more like 500 euro's if you take into inflation - most people would earn about 100 a week

  • hiya darth!

  • maurice fucking pratt

  • what about him?

  • Those items weren't cheap, especially for 1984.

  • Your right, I'm surprised how pricey it was.

  • I was thinking the same when i watched this! that's obviously why I always only got one toy from Santa.
