  • us special forces use a cross fit program or a program built around similar ideas to keep up the muscular conditioning of the soldiers. of course they incorporate other ideas as well but for the most part is is a lot of reps for a lot of sets in a short amount of time to build cardiovascular and muscular endurance and it has shown that once it was incorporated into the training programs that the % of injuries went down. just saying for everyone that doesn't think cross fit is good for you.

  • At 10th seconds the guy is wearing a ring. You're not supposed to wear jewelry while working out. It's dangerous. He could lose a finger.

  • @npm619 well you're exercising for all the wrong reasons then. and check out the top crossfitters (rich froning, graham holmberg) they dont look too 'over-trained' to me

  • @james69XD dont get me wrong.. cleans and deadlifts are great for overall body development and I always do them.. but doing constant supersetting and momentum type pullups for example ur not going to build as much skeletal muscle.

    some peoples goals are to be fantastic athletes and crossfit is the one of the best options for that... its just misleading for those whose goal is to look good to do crossfit as opposed to a standard bodybuilding routine, male or female.

  • i dont have an excuse thats why i do my workouts at home with perfect form, oh and i dont need to use my momentum to do pull ups. If i wanted to swing i'd go to the park.

  • Let's brand it, market it, and push it on people. Yes, great work out, but this shit was all there 20 years ago. It's called be creative, create your own circuits, take the best ideas from different work outs and just exercise, you don't have to call it a WOD and brag about your time. You don't have to join a crossfit gym, or get a certificate from a 1 day course, or switch to exclusivity, or abandon specific training, or become an elitest. That's my excuse for hating it.

  • @lumpy8864...I'm married with a kid. I haven't been to a bar in years. My wife and I have a date night once a month. Any disposable income I have is paying bills or going toward the kid's savings account.

    I have crossfitted in the past. I know all about it. And it's great...if you have oodles of time and disposable income, which I have neither anymore.

  • My excuse is that I like specific programming. I have a specific goal in mind and want to work towards that. Crossfit is the new aerobic, and it's great for the average guy - but not for me.

  • As much motivation as this should be for the average Joe, working out intensely for those individuals with severe orthopedic or neurodegenerative disease (i.e. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Parkinson's) is frequently detrimental to overall health IN THE LONG TERM. Sure, you should work out, but CrossFit is NOT for everyone, no matter if you say you can just scale it. CrossFit is not a panacea. It does not cure everything. There are reasons not to CrossFit.

    Crossfit haters don't understand what fitness is. I hold a number of different fitness certs and have competed in long distance, short distance, and adventure races, lifting competitions, and active military service, and Crossfit has given me better gains than any other type of periodization.

  • @PiratesWonderful I've seen big guys that used to do Westside or other good lifting programs switch to crossfit and shrink to a shadow of their former selves.

    I'm talking going from 220@12% down to 180@8%. Sure the guy's abs look great now but he had to lose 20lbs of hard earned muscle and drop his 1RM squat to sub 300 to do that.

  • @dynamoh LOL of course. I tore my scrote skateboarding in middleschool, first time I did box jumps I tore it again....blood and laughter everywhere. What I meant is in order to crossfit your scrote has to be resilient.

  • @Grieverx2000 you did not see her jumping on the box and if you. Were looking at the guy doing the muscle ups that's John at the end. Try watching it a little slower.

  • @L2QSclan its was def a over head squat, but you might be right about the weight, they looked like 35 pound plates to me at first, which would be insane for a girl to do, even if it was much less that hard to do with good form

  • not sure what you mean. did you watch this video? how many handicap peolpe did you see in this video? I counted three or did I miss something. I guess everyone of them just showed up in shape and did not work hard to get in shape. Try watching the Video again and try and get the message.. Just saying..

  • Why is it that every exercise program, brochure or infomercial I see has people who are ALREADY fit doing this stuff? They all seem to be only out of shape by not doing something in awhile or they only have to "tone up" some muscles or they are super skinny looking to put on muscle. They never show someone who is obese or someone who may have a handicap looking to get fit or doing the exercise program or training.

  • @jester1cp I was in the same boat and told the owner about it and how I love this community and Crossfit and asked if there was anything I could do to help with the payment....I received a job of cleaning the gym once a week and it was no longer a problem. No Excuses!

  • @Crossfitchannel We have an "intern" program. You are an instructor's helper a couple nights a week, start the clock, put away equipment, cheer on others... and you receive a discount.

  • @jester1cp Really? Because I Crossfit at home, I make it work buying what I can and making what I can't. The Workouts of the Day are posted online, even the scaling for those that aren't strong enough yet.

  • I just hurt my neck doing yesterday's wod, pain all the way down my lower traps! I should've scaled the 2 pood swing! :( it's my first wod this year! ... I am icing it all night but tomorrow... no excuses!

  • I had the excuse of hurting so bad from a free session of crossfit, I slept on it, and in my dream my grandmother told me to quit with the excuses, this was last night, and then today I see this video, full of the reasons I've told myself. I start in Feb, and have Into Classes at the end of this month. So this is really inspiring for me. I can't wait to so a youtube on my progress.

  • @LynnMonroeTV ... I've been doing CrossFit for ten months. I can deadlift 2.5 times my bodyweight, run a 5k in under 22, etc. I did a WOD last week and my triceps seized up for a week, I had to scale down ... I'm basically sore all the time.

    What I'm getting as is you don't get to some magical place where it's easy. It's always hard, or there's no point.
