my favorite coloratura. The most beautiful voice color of them all. I saw her live singing gilda with Robert Merrill as rigoletto a long time ago and i will never forget it

I've never been overly fond of Roberta Peters, but she's WONDERFUL here! I think best Olympia I've seen/heard.

@schmup53 The size of the voice is not that important. I saw her debut as Zerlina at the old Met and the audience were crazy about her voice and looks, me included JRT

Ms. Peters was a first rate USA soprano for her time. This is proof!
I am not sure what this interpretation was for, but it is fantastic and captures the story perfect.
Ms. Peters was a top rate soprano for so many years here in the USA. She is very young here, and was just starting out her career.

This interpretation is, for me, perfection. Peters voice and dramatic input just bring Offenbach's doll to life in the way that he must surely have intended.
I have had much pleasure from the other postings in this thread of "Les Oiseaux " but this is the one that does it for me.
