  • after watching this video... i was more in love with nature... and its little and magical surprises... :) this video/documentary is so magnificent... thanks so much for sharing this... :)

  • This video is awe-inspiring

  • Awww -3

  • Słodkie kruszynki, przecudne, prze kochane.

  • Give them some food

  • ouch that's crazy how the mothers beak goes all the way down the babys throat.

  • Very sweet.

  • Beautiful video! I love humming birds,I watch them everyday. They come to feed on a feeder that I put close to my window and I enjoy to see how they feed. They sit still after drinking their nectar and relax for a while. I wash the feeder and change the nectar daily because of the hot weather.*****

  • This is the first video where I could see their little tongues! Amazing.

  • Guess the babies have no gag reflex, lol! This is awesome though.

  • I love humming birds ,I just saw one this morning in my flower garden .! thanks for the vid.

  • this vid is incredible! hummingbirds are like little angels!

  • so, I looked on line to get some idea about humming birds nesting. Hummingbird(s) brought lots of sticks to a small pottery shell, hanging from a tree. However, I have not seen any eggs but there seems to be some down in there. What do you think?? It's been awhile since I have seen the bird...if there are no eggs does that mean that they went away??

  • beautiful and moving. thanks for sharing!

  • That was beautiful. I love watching the hummingbirds feed at our feeders. Thanks for the video.

  • This movie is very charming. Moved me very much and still doing it, because I watch it ...

  • simply amazing, thanks for sharing nature at it's best...

  • 2:43 Hey where you going man! I just ordered room service!!

  • Excellent video, thanks!

  • David, thank you very much for this amazing video! May I use it for my channel to explain Russian children how hummingbirds raise their babies. Russia doesn't have hummingbirds. Thank you, Yelena

  • Beautifully edited, great music - very moving and compelling. Thank you!

  • Wonderful! We have a hummingbird nesting on a wire (!) in our tiki lounge right now. I have kept a healthy flowering fushcia in a hanging basket - and other red flowering plants -plus a solar water fountain- near by to keep her healthy. I do not dare come to close to her!

  • We experienced a few years back

    how adaptable mourning doves are

with humans. We were able to capture

via webcam and camera the building of the nest,

the birth of their squabs and the final flight into adulthood.

A priceless experience for us also!

  • What an incredible video, thank you so much for sharing! It makes you feel a bit nostalgic and misty when they finally fledge.

  • Is this an Allen's Hummingbird?

  • A friend from ustream sent me a link on the hummingbird nest channel ^_^ so beutiful

  • thanks so much for this video, it was absolutely amazing!!!hummingbirds are my favorite animal of all time..their abilities just blow my mind!

  • Wonderful !!!! Luv IT !!

  • Wow thanks

  • from little raisins to beautiful birds!! ; )

  • C'est beau, hein, Solange ???????

  • Vous avez réussi à me tirer une larme de pur bonheur !

    Merci...

  • then my cat ate em

  • Nice one, cool vid!!!.

  • Beautiful work. Loved this video. I wonder how something so ugly becomes sooooooo beautiful in a matter of few days.

  • How wonderfully beautiful! Thank you for sharing this with us!

The little one left behind watches its sibling fly off and the tiny wheels seem to be turning...”Should I try?” I once had a humming bird land on my finger at a bird sanctuary; quite an amazing experience. The little creature felt like a feather so I cannot imagine how tiny these little babies were.

  • Fantastic!!!! This is something that everyone should watch...

  • That was so beautiful.

  • Glad you were able to videotape this event! I had an Anna's hummingbird nest in my patio, but did not have a video camera. I tried to take pics of them before they flew out of the nest too, but they sure are fast!!! They are such amazing beautiful creatures aren't they?

Their nests are so small and so well camouflaged, they are hard to spot. We are lucky to have witnessed such a neat event!! It's great you are able to share it with everyone!!

  • BEAUTIFUL !!!

  • Such a miracle!

  • Excellent camera planing and execution. This video is the reason I keep coming back to YouTube.

    A perfect video.

Though I have mixed feelings about the "intervention " at the end.

    Thanks for sharing with me!!!

  • Thanks! Actually, there was no intervention. There was someone outside also taking still pictures during the end of the video, as it was very clear they were going to fledge any minute. I wish it did not look like that, but they both left on their own. -David

  • @netplaceus Right on. Thanks I understand now. I would have been capturing as much of the "last moments" as possible too. I should have realized what you were doing.

No intervention, just taking some final picture before the inevitable first flight.

    A wonderful video.

  • What a beautiful video-thank you for sharing....Marghanita Hughes and The Little Humbugs love this!

  • Thank you for sharing this video, otherwise many of us would have never seen such a beautiful site.

  • Aw, I was sad when they flew away ....thank you for sharing your video :)

  • very cool

  • OMG! this is really Awesome!!!

  • AMMMAZING, THANKS TOO FOR SHARING

  • Great video......thanks

  • Wonderful video! Great view from above looking down. Thank you for sharing and taking the time to capture this video.

  • awesome - I feed 25-30 hummingbirds daily but haven't seen their nests

  • What a fantastic video!

I also recorded this moment on a other type of "tree", in my backyard. If you can see, go to my channel and watch the footage called "Beija-flor na Antena" ("Hummingbird on Antenna", translated for English), divided into 18 parts.

  • Thank you for sharing this amazing video.

  • That was a labor of love....Thank you.........Katrina

  • well put

  • cool vid thxs

  • this is awesome I have several feeders , and tons of hummingbirds---each one has a different personality--that is how I can tell them apart.

    Thankyou for this video.

  • Fantastic! Thx for sharing

  • Great stuff. Thanks for the post.

  • This is amazing! It is beautiful. Thank you.

  • Here's a moment killer, imagine your mom barfing in your mouth to feed you.Aside from that little joke, I really do think that its beautiful how life can seem slow but when you reflect back in it you'll see how you grow and start to pick up yourself, I hope this video gives another mean to how you live your life.

  • I had a nest outside my office window and I had tended to it and set out a nectar feeder for them, I came back from the July 4th weekend and the eggs were gone and I cant seem to find the mother. I think a mockingbird got to them and I'm so torn up about it. It's so sad. I love these birds. :(

  • Absolutely amazing - you did a fabulous job filming this. We have a hummingbird that's built a next on our patio for the first time. We've done some video of her on the nest, but I don't think we can get such great shots as yours though. Well done!

  • that was beautiful

  • this is an amazing video. thank you for making this!

  • The humming birds in my back yard look like around day 30 :)

  • PERFECT !!! Brazil

  • Thank you! Sometimes they do make it. Mine died today.

  • B E A U T I F U L!!!! Almighty God does it again!

  • When i look at this video, I understand people who believe, that world was made by beautiful & mighty person.

This is very beautiful video. :)

Huh, sometimes I think, that people are the only evil in this world...

  • That is beautiful!

  • LOL one humming bird was batting the other one over the head with its wing at 1:45 !

  • Thank you very much. Amazing :)

  • awesome Clip..

  • Well done. Great video!

  • Update: Just one chick survived and it has already flown away.. We saw the mom and the baby yesterday on a branch; the mother still feeds the baby, it was so sweet...

  • Oh! What a beautiful video!! So well done and I loved the music! "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together." Colossians 1:17 Thanks for making the video.

  • you'd think the parent bird would do serious damage sticking that long beak into the babies' mouths.

  • Damn, what a great video. How did this happen? Love these critters and hope they will be back soon. Thanks for the great video.

  • What can I say? This is a beautiful video and I've very much enjoyed watching it.

  • i was wondering, why doesn't the hummingbird ever skewer the baby hummingbirds with such a long bill?

By the way I just love hummingbirds too. We have a pair of them at our house every year. They are such a delight

    Ruby throated Hummingbirds

  • @JDvorak2009 She knows exactly what to do :)

  • thars a hummingbird's nest outside my house too! except there's only 1 poor little chick :< and mommy or daddy isnt with the little chick and i'm like DDDD:

  • I am really excited because a hummingbird has set her nest in a tree inside my property. I am looking forward to see the babies!!!

  • I just realized that I've never wondered about this before- does a hummingbird (or any bird, really) ever return to the nest? Or once they take that first flight out, are they gone for good?

  • One Suggestion; It's nice to see a scale comparison in the photo (like a toothpick or something unobtrusive). Amazing metamorphosis nest and all.

  • oh my goodness day 23 :D they look so cozy! i cant believe in just 40 days they're ready to go wow. awesome video!

  • Great video! How cute are they? I love hummers.

  • Perfection!

  • Completely wonderful photos. I'm fortunate to have hummingbirds nest close to my door year after year, but I don't even own a camera, so thanks!

  • ROFL!! When the one chick fell off the side of the nest its sibling looked down and was like O.O *sweats*.

  • That was so awesome! Hummingbirds are one of my favorite creatures on Earth. :) So magnificent and small and nimble and fast.

  • "They both flew safely into a nearby tree." ARGGGH!! They smacked that tree head on?? Ha! I guess how that should read is "They both safely flew to a nearby tree." Picky picky, eh? GREAT VIDEO and the music was perfect! I love those little guys; they must be the inspiration for faeries! With what is the nest lined? I've seen up close photos, and that white stuff looks like silk...maybe spider webs Mama has gathered and lined the nest with them - like silk, really?

  • i jst felt sad when they has to leave :'(

  • A Truly amazing creation David, thank you.

  • Thank you for sharing this Beauty of Nature with us...Ine

  • lovely share!! thank you!

  • Beautiful! Just stunning!

  • I like 'day 24', where the moment the mother alights on the nest's edge two feathery little heads suddenly pop up. It's like "you're back... feed us, NOW!" funny and cute.

  • why the baby bird more bigger than the mother bird!!

  • They still have their baby down (feathers). These will eventually fall off, and they will be more streamlined.

  • Thanks for sharing this with us. That last one looked so lonely and lost before he/she left.

  • Loved it, it inspired me very much, reminds me of my daughter and how she is growing up so fast. before you know it they will leave the nest.

  • I would love to find a nest. i can't imagine how tiny they must be.

  • I live in Austin and just found a small nest in a live Oak on a branch that is only six feet from the ground. There are two eggs in this nest and the mother comes and goes.

This branch swings wildly in even a small breeze. I'm considering securing this branch a slight bit higher in order to raise the nest and keep the branch from swinging so much in the wind.

Any comments from anyone on whether I should just leave it alone or carry on with my plan?

  • Amazing video of some of God's marvelous creatures. Have you read "A Hummingbird in My House?" If not, I'll send you one via ML. STJ in Mrtta.

  • This video is so lovely and George Winston's music was the perfect choice. We had an Anna's hummingbird nest on our patio; I was so fascinated that I ending up writing a book for children about it. I missed seeing the first bird leave the nest, but did see the second bird fly for the first time. (He/she sort of fell out of the nest, landed on a lower branch, then took off.)

  • Fantastic!

  • great vid!

  • Maybe somebody can help me! I live in the mountains of Colorado and hummingbirds are very common. Well, a few days ago, i found a young humming bird but old enough to fly on my sidewalk. She is missing half her feathers on one wing and cant fly. At the moment she is hanging out in a shoebox witha saucer of nectar. I dont know what to do! heLP!

  • Wonderful Documentary ~ Beautiful Music ~ Thank You for Sharing

  • AMAZING AND HEART WARMING

  • I have an obsession with hummers....I would do anything to find a nest on my property. Thanks for this beautiful video.

    Hummingbirdcrazy in Oregon

  • That was interesting how their beaks were short when they were born, and how quickly they grew. I wish after they had flown, you had put a quarter in the nest, or next to it, for comparison. Great video though. Thank you for sharing!

  • That's so sweet. I love this video. It reflects how human mother behaves and how one day kids would have to fly on their own wings.

  • Thanks you for sharing video,It help alot about how the hummingbird world.
